100: Chapter 100 Shenghui Purui Biological Reagent R&D Group
The headquarters building of the Holy Brilliance Purity Biological Preparation R&D Group looked... very 'Holy Alliance'.
It was made of a jade-white material, with pale golden energy patterns flowing across its surface, and its overall shape resembled a giant lotus flower slowly blooming.
The building was 999 stories tall, a number said to symbolize 'infinitely close to perfection' in the doctrine of the Holy Alliance.
'Whoa!'
A short, excited exclamation came from behind the group.
Everyone turned around to see Teacher Yimoku, the genius girl from the Weapons Research Institute, looking up with her small face, her large eyes filled with tiny, rapidly swirling and parsing runes deep within her pupils.
Witnessing the biotechnology of the Holy Alliance was her main purpose for coming here.
'An integrated design of energy circuits and structural support! The fluid metal matrix is mixed with bioceramics and psionic-conductive crystals... And this energy flow pattern, is it mimicking a stellar corona or the veins of some high-order life form?'
She rattled off a string of technical jargon that was difficult for others to understand, her fingers unconsciously gesturing in the void as if tracing the path of those patterns.
On the other side.
'Holy crap,' Chu Xinghe exclaimed as soon as he stepped off the hoverbus, looking up at the building that had pierced into the clouds, blurting out, 'How much property management fee does this building... cost?'
The Guide beside him, a young scholar wearing gold-rimmed glasses, twitched the corner of his mouth imperceptibly.
'Student Chu Xinghe,' he said, trying to maintain a smile, 'The Holy Brilliance Purity Group is a super-trust spanning tens of millions of star regions, with an annual output value equivalent to one-third of the total GDP of a large civilization. They should... not need to worry about property management fees.'
'Fair point,' Chu Xinghe said, rubbing his chin. 'After all, they aren't selling medicine, they're selling life—life-extending serums, gene optimization fluids, battlefield emergency nanobots... That makes money much faster than real estate.'
Li Yuan, standing nearby, chuckled at this.
Laya curiously pointed at the flowing golden patterns on the building's surface: 'What are those shiny lines?'
'Energy conduits and decorative patterns,' Elia explained calmly. 'It's the typical design style of the Holy Alliance—functionality must be combined with aesthetics. Those patterns are responsible for the building's energy transmission, while also forming a large art installation. It's said that they change color and pattern on specific holidays.'
Sai Wei crossed his arms and snorted, 'Flashy and pretentious.'
His cousin, Ansevier, walked over from behind, hugged his arm, and gently added, 'Sai Wei, you said the same thing when you saw our "Thunder Sanctuary" when you were seven. Then you got lost inside for three hours, and in the end, the cleaning robot had to bring you out.'
Sai Wei: '...Shut up!'
'Alright, my young friends.'
The Guide clapped his hands to attract everyone's attention.
'As you can see, this is the headquarters of the Holy Brilliance Purity Biological Preparation R&D Group. Today, we will visit the group's "History and Philosophy Exhibition Area," as well as several of the most advanced biotechnology laboratories open to visitors.'
He paused and emphasized, 'Note that the group's true core research facilities and production lines are distributed across thousands of different star regions, and most involve top-secret information. What you see today is just the tip of the iceberg—but even this small tip is enough for you to understand why Holy Brilliance Purity has become the benchmark for biotechnology in the known universe.'
The group walked into the building.
The interior was even more extravagant than it looked from the outside.
The lobby ceiling was over three hundred meters high, and the dome was a massive dynamic holographic star map, with countless points of light slowly circulating against the deep cosmic background, indicating the industrial distribution of Holy Brilliance Purity.
The floor was as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the starlight from the dome, making it feel like walking on the Milky Way.
The surrounding walls were transparent display cases, inside of which floated various strange biological specimens: there were miniature Leviathan embryos, Zerg Drones fixed by special force fields, unknown star beast organs flickering with eerie blue light, and even several humanoid organisms that had clearly been modified and fused with various biological characteristics.
'This decor style,' Luo Lan whispered to Chu Xinghe, 'is exactly like that of a nouveau riche who says, "I'm very rich, but I still want to appear tasteful."'
Chu Xinghe agreed deeply: 'Exactly, they just need to put a sign at the door that says "No Bargaining."'
The Guide clearly heard them, but he selectively ignored these complaints and began his formal explanation.
'Holy Brilliance Purity was founded in the middle of the "Defense Era," nearly eight thousand years ago. The original intention was simple—'
He called up a holographic projection, which displayed the brutal scenes of the early wars between humans and the Zerg.
'The Zerg at that time, besides their numerical advantage and biological warships, were most troublesome for their "biological attack methods": the mental parasitism of the Infector, the corrosive toxic mist of the Baneling, the genetic viruses of the Plague Worm... In the early stages of the war, the personnel losses caused by these non-direct lethal means even exceeded those on the front lines.'
The image switched, showing scenes of early human medical personnel in protective suits rescuing infected people inside isolation chambers.
'Traditional medicine and genetic technology had limited effects against these Zerg biological weapons. Therefore, a group of biologists, genetic engineers, and doctors from different civilizations united to establish the predecessor of Holy Brilliance Purity—the "Cross-Civilization Biological Threat Response Joint Research Institute."'
'Their philosophy was also very direct: to counter Zerg biological weapons, the best method is not passive defense, but active research, cracking, and ultimately "domesticating" these biological technologies for our own use.'
The holographic projection began to flash rapidly through the milestone achievements of Holy Brilliance Purity:
[57 Years After Founding] The first batch of "Infector Blocking Vaccines" went into production, reducing the success rate of Infector mental parasitism from 72% to 0.3%.
[129 Years After Founding] "Broad-spectrum Zerg Toxin Neutralizer" was successfully developed, basically eliminating the battlefield threat of Banelings.
[211 Years After Founding] "Biological Composite Armor," improved based on Zerg chitin, began to be deployed, increasing defensive performance by 40% and reducing weight by 60%.
[335 Years After Founding] "Gene Stabilizer" was released, which can significantly reduce the mutation induction rate of Zerg genetic viruses on non-Zerg organisms.
...Next to each achievement were remarkable promotion data and the number of lives saved.
'Wow...' Laya whispered in amazement, 'They've saved so many people.'
'Indeed.' The Guide nodded, his tone filled with pride. 'As of now, the lives saved directly or indirectly by Holy Brilliance Purity's products have exceeded one trillion. This is why, despite the group's huge commercial success, in the public eye, it is first and foremost a "salvation organization."'
He paused and changed the subject:
'But Holy Brilliance Purity is not satisfied with this. As the Zerg war entered the "Standoff Era," simple defense was no longer enough to ensure the continuation of civilization. Three hundred years ago, the group launched a new core research direction—'
On the holographic projection, two huge titles appeared: [Super Soldier Project] vs [Primarch Project]
'These two projects represent two fundamental approaches to countering the Zerg.' The Guide pointed to the left. '"Super Soldier Project" is a continuation of the Super Soldier Project from the Three Kings Era, the philosophy is: first cultivate a small number of elite soldiers who are extremely powerful individually, and in actual combat against the Zerg, continuously optimize and popularize them to form gene agents covering the entire army, or even all of humanity.'
Some blurry video clips appeared on the projection: a human tearing apart the carapace of an Ultralisk single-handedly, figures dismantling Zerg warships with bare hands in space, and some legendary battlefield records of "one person becoming an army."
'Unfortunately, the Zerg's mutation and upgrading, and even the mutation and upgrading of human talent itself, seem to be faster than human super genes. It's been 300 years, and this project has basically seen no significant progress. But the "Primarch Project" led by Holy Brilliance Purity,' the Guide pointed to the right, 'has a completely different philosophy.'
