142: Chapter 142 Getting Stronger with Each Fight, Energy Essence Potion
The holographic projection popped open, displaying footage of the Recycling Factory inside the base.
The scene... was quite a sight to behold.
Countless Zerg Swarm corpses were transported via conveyor belts into a massive processing chamber. The first step was high-energy laser vaporization—yes, literally "burning them to ash." However, this process strictly controlled the energy output to ensure only biological structures were destroyed without damaging the internal psionic energy.
The vaporized biomass steam entered a multi-layered energy filter system where impurities were stripped away layer by layer, leaving only the purest stream of life energy. These energy streams were then channeled into a Psionic Extraction Tower, and after thirty-four stages of purification, they finally transformed into a clear, transparent liquid emitting a soft glow.
Essence Liquid.
"Look at this purity!" Yimoku pointed at the monitoring data, her eyes shining. "It's fine to drink directly! The oral absorption rate is estimated to reach over 99.7%! It's three hundred times faster than cultivation! Three hundred times!"
She gestured excitedly. "I've already arranged for the production lines to run at full capacity! The first batch of finished products will be sent to the front lines immediately! Li Yuan, let me tell you, once this war is over, there should be enough Energy Essence Liquid for all 4,000+ of us here to reach Level 6!"
Li Yuan looked at the Essence Liquid being packed into portable energy canisters on the screen, his lips twitching. "Um... Senior Yimoku, we're still in the middle of a war, aren't we?"
"What about the war?" Yimoku said righteously. "Can't we produce things during a war? Do you know how much this Essence Liquid is worth? One ton of Zerg Swarm corpses yields about 10 grams of Essence Liquid. With the Zerg corpses falling from the sky right now... I've done a rough estimate, that's millions of liters! Millions of liters! If everyone chugs a ton of energy essence, who wouldn't level up?!"
She got more excited as she spoke and pulled up a design blueprint. "I've already conceptualized the next step—further concentrating the Essence Liquid into High-Energy Nutritional Paste. By then, our base's meal standards will jump three grades! Synthetic meat, nutritional supplements—all obsolete! We'll be eating essence feasts for every meal!"
Chu Xinghe's voice drifted over faintly. "Big Sister Yimoku, a person can't chug a ton of energy essence; they'd explode!!"
"Who said you had to eat it all at once?" Yimoku huffed. "The point is, the Zerg Swarm is delivering it to our doorstep. It would be a waste not to take it."
While they spoke, the first batch of Essence Liquid had already been delivered to each combat unit via underground transport pipes.
Li Yuan took the portable canister handed to him by a logistics drone and unscrewed the cap. The liquid was as clear as mountain spring water, but a faint golden halo floated on the surface, making it look quite beautiful.
He tilted his head back and took a sip.
The taste... there wasn't much taste, just a faint sweetness like diluted honey water. But the moment the liquid hit his throat, a warm stream of energy spread from his stomach, quickly surging through his limbs and bones. The bei ming core in his Energy Center vibrated slightly, its rotation speed noticeably increasing.
A system notification flashed in his mind: [Absorbed high-purity energy essence, Energy +5,000, Essence +5,000]
"The effect is good." Li Yuan nodded and handed the canister to Elia and Laya beside him. "You guys try it too."
Elia took a large gulp, her ice-blue eyes lighting up slightly. "The energy is very pure. It's faster than cultivation."
Laya took a small sip, then let out a long breath, "Haa—" her wings spreading comfortably. "Delicious! Another bottle!"
"Do you think it's soda?" Li Yuan knocked her head jokingly and said to Aria, "Drink more. As long as we keep defending, there will be plenty more. Filling up your energy to advance as quickly as possible is the most important thing."
This was a supply for rapid energy replenishment. As long as Aria could absorb it, there would indeed be plenty more later.
After killing billions of Zerg Swarm over the last few days and absorbing a large amount of energy, Aria was indeed one step closer to Level 4.
Since reaching Level 4 was so difficult, Li Yuan believed Aria's Level 4 talent must be incredibly powerful.
The slaughter in the sky continued. The ten thousand Gene Primordial Bodies were like ten thousand tireless killing machines, clearing out Zerg Swarm units with incredible efficiency. Zerg corpses fell like rain, the recovery system ran at full speed, and Essence Liquid was produced continuously and delivered to the front lines.
The entire base entered a strange, virtuous cycle: the more they killed, the more Zerg corpses; the more Zerg corpses, the more Essence Liquid; the more Essence Liquid, the faster the trial-takers recovered and the higher their output; the higher the output, the more they killed...
"Why do I feel," Sai Wei said, looking at the third canister of Essence Liquid he had just received, his expression a bit subtle, "like we're... grinding a dungeon?"
Ansevier rolled her eyes at him. "Does grinding a dungeon drop this much experience?"
"That's true."
It was even more exaggerated over at Chu Xinghe's side. This big brother had a logistics drone hovering right next to him; he'd fight for a bit, then turn back to chug a mouthful of Essence Liquid before continuing. In his words: "This stuff is way more useful than energy drinks, and it doesn't hurt your stomach."
Luo Lan was much more rational. He analyzed data while drinking the Essence Liquid. "Based on the current kill efficiency and Zerg reinforcement speed, if the Gene Primordial Bodies can maintain their current output level, we might be able to clear the current batch of Zerg Swarm units within twenty-four hours."
"Provided that," Li Yuan added, "the Zerg Swarm doesn't deploy higher-level combat forces."
The current situation was that while the Gene Primordial Bodies were individually powerful, their combat methods were indeed quite crude. They were like a group of berserkers fighting independently, with no sense of coordination at all.
Sometimes, two Progenitors would target the same swarm of Zerg at the same time. As a result, one would cast fire rain while the other cast a flood. The two incompatible energies would collide in mid-air, triggering a massive explosion that knocked over both the surrounding Zerg Swarm and their own allies.
Sometimes, a Progenitor would be focused on hunting down Mutalisks, failing to notice a Scourge rushing at it from behind. Just as the sneak attack was about to succeed—
"Swoosh!"
A Rapid-fire Ion Beam from the ground hit with precision, and the Scourge exploded into a cloud of green sludge in mid-air.
The Progenitor stumbled forward from the shockwave of the explosion. It looked back blankly, then down at the ground. Its simple mind couldn't comprehend what had happened. It tilted its five-eyed head and turned back to continue hunting Mutalisks.
Similar situations kept occurring.
A Progenitor controlling plants was using vines to strangle a large group of Corruptors, unaware that a Brood Lord overhead was adjusting its angle, preparing to drop Spore Sacs on it. Just as the Spore Sacs were about to be ejected, the base's Scattering Beam Array fired a volley. Dozens of beams interlaced into a net, blowing up all the Spore Sacs in mid-air.
The plant Progenitor looked up at the spore fragments falling from the sky, then down at the ground. It reached out with a vine and scratched its head—if that mass of tangled vines could be called a "head"—and then went back to strangling Corruptors.
The most hilarious time was when a lightning-attribute Progenitor was charging up a powerful move, its whole body crackling with electricity, clearly preparing for something big. Over a dozen Scourges saw the opportunity and lunged from all directions, intending to use self-destruction to interrupt its charge.
At that critical moment, the drone swarm commanded by Chu Xinghe unleashed a barrage of fire. The pale blue plasma barrage poured down like a waterfall, blowing up all the Scourges in mid-air and creating a circle of green "fireworks" in the sky.
The shockwave from the explosions even helped the lightning Progenitor clear out the surrounding fodder, giving it the perfect environment to unleash its power.
The lightning Progenitor seemed stunned. The Thundercloud it had charged up hovered overhead for two seconds, and then—
It nodded toward the drone swarm!
