39: Chapter 39 Teammate, the School Beauty, Knocks on the Door!! A Murderous Intent Beneath the Gentleness

The night was as dark as ink. The neon sign of the Blue Tone Grand Hotel flickered with a hazy light in the darkness, illuminating the entire street as if it were daytime.

"The detector shows the target is still inside this hotel. The exact location cannot be confirmed," Chen Jingyi said in a low voice.

On the screen of the detector in her hand, a conspicuous red dot remained stationary on the hotel's floor plan, like a leopard waiting to pounce. "She seems aware of our pursuit, yet she hasn't chosen to flee."

Elia frowned, a flicker of vigilance passing through her ice-blue eyes. "What is she waiting for?"

"Perhaps she's waiting for us," Li Yuan analyzed calmly, his fingers unconsciously tracing points in the air—a habitual gesture when he engaged in logical thought. "According to Instructor Zhou Cheng, ordinary humans don't possess value worth mobilizing a Queen. Compared to heavily guarded key facilities, the genius students of North Star Military Academy are likely her most cost-effective targets."

He paused. "Queen-class insectoids possess high-level intelligence. She may have already discovered our squad and wants to eliminate the trackers."

Chen Jingyi immediately reported the situation to the command center via an encrypted channel. Moments later, a reply from Zhou Cheng came through. His serious face appeared on the holographic projection: "Hold your position and await reinforcements. Other search teams are on their way and estimated to arrive within three hours. Until then, maintain surveillance and avoid direct confrontation. Remember, you are not facing ordinary insectoids."

Laya, clinging to Li Yuan's arm, asked with a hint of curiosity, "Then what do we do? Wait here for her to come find us?"

"Since we're holding our position, we'll stay at the hotel," Li Yuan said, glancing around the opulent hotel lobby, his eyes scanning every potential hiding spot. "We'll get two rooms. I'll take one alone. You three stay together to watch each other's backs."

The receptionist smiled as she processed their check-in, completely unaware of the dangerous mission these young people were carrying out. When filling out the registration forms, Li Yuan specifically requested two adjacent rooms—close enough for mutual support yet not so conspicuous as to draw unnecessary attention.

...

Inside the room, Li Yuan meticulously inspected every corner. It was a standard business suite with the living area connected to the bedroom. Thick curtains completely blocked out the neon lights from outside.

In the other room, Chen Jingyi was continuously directing engineering robots, working overtime to stockpile resources for the impending battle. Meanwhile, Aria was enveloped in moonlight, adjusting her condition to its peak.

Unbeknownst to all four of them, in the penthouse suite on the top floor, a server who had ridden the elevator up with them was slowly shedding her disguise, revealing her lustrous silver hair and crimson pupils. A faint smile played on her lips:

"Here I come, my little darlings!"

...

At 1 a.m., the hotel corridor was silent. Li Yuan lay in bed, wide awake. Suddenly, a faint knocking sound broke the silence. It was soft, as if afraid of disturbing the night's tranquility, yet it carried an indescribable allure.

Li Yuan instantly became alert. He moved silently to the door and peered through the peephole.

Standing outside was actually Laya.

But it didn't seem like the Laya he knew.

The girl before him wore a black lace camisole nightgown. The hem was so short it barely covered the top of her thighs. Beneath the sheer fabric, the graceful curves of her figure were faintly visible. She was unusually made up, with fine glitter adorning the corners of her eyes, shimmering seductively under the corridor lights. Her lips were painted a tempting peach color, slightly pouted in a coquettish manner. Her golden hair cascaded loosely over her shoulders, a few strands falling onto her delicate collarbones, adding a touch of lazy sensuality.

What made Li Yuan's heart race the most was her current demeanor—those always clear and bright eyes were now veiled with a misty haze, her gaze swirling with a subtle, teasing allure. The straps of the nightgown hung loosely on her shoulders, as if they might slip off at any moment, revealing the fair skin beneath. Her posture was different too; she leaned forward slightly, deliberately showcasing her elegant curves.

Li Yuan had never seen Laya like this before. Although the lively angel girl often paraded around him in sexy sleepwear, trying to tempt him, she had never exhibited such astonishing seductive power.

The 'Laya' before him was like a ripe fruit, exuding an irresistible fragrance. Yet, the strange glint hidden deep within her eyes heightened Li Yuan's vigilance to its peak.

Li Yuan made a discreet gesture behind his back. On the bed inside the room sat another Laya, wearing the exact same black lace camisole nightgown. But compared to the Laya outside the door, this one seemed as pure and innocent as a little white flower.

As for why Laya was here... wasn't it perfectly normal for Laya to be here? Who said you had to sleep in the room you checked into!!!

Seeing Li Yuan's signal, Laya nodded in understanding. Her form gradually transformed into a soft glow, silently merging into Li Yuan's body. This was the special skill of Laya, Li Yuan's summoned creature BB—Guardian Form. In this state, Laya and Li Yuan became one, allowing Laya to provide additional protection at critical moments.

Without changing his expression, Li Yuan sent a signal to the Laya hidden within him, ready to respond to any sudden developments.

Taking a deep breath, Li Yuan opened the door.

'Laya' immediately slipped in like a fish, her soft arms wrapping around his neck. A fragrance identical to Laya's usual scent washed over him—that unique blend of sunlight and sanctity, yet now carrying an indescribable seductiveness.

"Master~" Her voice was more delicate than usual, tinged with a faint, breathy quality. "I couldn't sleep..."

She pressed her entire body against him. The thin nightgown did nothing to block the transfer of body heat. Li Yuan could clearly feel the softness of her chest pressing tightly against his own, a sensation that made his breath hitch.

'Laya' tilted her face up, her warm breath brushing against his neck. "Elia and Chen Jingyi are both asleep. I was so lonely all by myself..."

Her fingers lightly traced his back, each movement carrying a provocative intent. The silk fabric of the nightgown made faint rustling sounds with the friction, further accentuating theambiguous atmosphere.

Li Yuan instinctively wrapped an arm around her waist. The slender waist felt as if it could snap with a single twist in his palm. Through the thin fabric, he could feel the warmth of her skin and its delicate texture.

"Why are you..." Li Yuan's voice was slightly hoarse, "...dressed like this? We're on a mission right now."

"Don't you like it?" She nuzzled against his chest coquettishly, an action that caused the neckline of her nightgown to slip even lower. "I thought Master would like it..."

She took his hand and guided it to her side, to the enticing curve between her slender waist and full hips. Li Yuan's fingertips trembled slightly as a programmer's rationality waged a fierce battle against masculine instinct.

'Laya' seemed to enjoy his reaction. With a light laugh, she nudged him deeper into the room. Their limbs intertwined, each step accompanied by subtle friction and contact. Her long hair brushed against his cheek, carrying a tantalizing itch.

"It's just the two of us tonight..." she whispered in his ear, her voice like the sweetest poison. "Let me take good care of you, okay?"

Li Yuan's breathing grew heavier. As a programmer and a virgin, he had never experienced such a situation. The girl in his arms was identical to Laya in voice, scent, and touch, yet this deliberately crafted seduction was completely unlike the angel he knew.

His hand unconsciously caressed her waist, feeling the warm skin beneath the smooth fabric. Reason told him something was off, but his body responded honestly to the temptation.

"Laya..." he called her name softly, his voice strained with conflict. "Don't you think now isn't the right time? We're still on a mission."

"We can deal with the mission tomorrow~" Her fingers lightly traced his cheek, her gaze hazy. "Right now, I just want to be with Master..."

She led him to the bed, her movements gentle yet carrying an undeniable force. Li Yuan noticed a sharp, almost imperceptible glint occasionally flash in her eyes, like a hunter sizing up its prey.

"You know," Li Yuan suddenly spoke up, trying to change the subject, "I was just thinking about something. Why would the Queen choose to stay in this hotel?"

'Laya's' movements paused slightly, but she quickly resumed her coquettish demeanor. "Don't talk about that now~"

Her evasion further confirmed Li Yuan's suspicion. The real Laya might act spoiled sometimes, but she would never be so dismissive about serious matters.

"I think she might be waiting for something," Li Yuan continued to probe. "Or perhaps, she's preparing for something."

A flicker of impatience passed through 'Laya's' eyes, quickly replaced by allure. "Master, let's not think about that tonight..."

She gently pushed Li Yuan, guiding him to fall back onto the bed. Her actions seemed intimate, yet held a certain deliberateness. Li Yuan could feel every curve of her body pressed tightly against him, a sensation that made it almost impossible for him to maintain control.

"Laya..." he called her name again, this time with deeper meaning.

"Hmm?" She straddled him, her legs on either side of his body, looking down at him. Though her gaze was hazy, it felt as if she were looking at prey.

Her hands slid up from his abdomen, coming to rest lightly on his chest. Her originallyDelicate expression instantly turned icy.

"Game over, human." Her voice remained sweet, yet carried a bone-chilling coldness.
