147: Chapter 147 The Primarch cannot lose the battlefield.

Fortunately, this was an area where the Primarch clusters were relatively dense, and about a dozen Progenitors had already rushed over and were currently engaged in combat with the Queen's squads.

Wind blades, fireballs, thunderstorms, holy light, shadows... a chaotic mess of skills smashed down indiscriminately.

The Progenitors certainly didn't identify Luo Lan as an ally!

Luo Lan's mouth twitched as he pulled out of the combat zone.

...

Although Luo Lan's intervention disrupted the rhythm of one Queen's squad and saved that wind-attribute Progenitor's life, its impact on the overall battle was minimal. The Queen's squads were still methodically harvesting the Gene Primordial Bodies, and the cluster's numbers had already decreased by about one-two-hundredth.

In exchange, the Tyranid Warriors' losses exceeded three thousand, but the Queens... still had zero casualties.

"This can't go on," Li Yuan said in a low voice over the ground command channel. "The Progenitors are no match for the Queens. Once they are wiped out, we're next."

"Then what should we do?" Sai Wei asked. "We can't exactly go up and help. We're also in the Gene Primordial Bodies' attack sequence; Luo Lan almost didn't make it back just now."

The channel fell into silence.

Everyone knew Sai Wei was telling the truth. Even Luo Lan, who possessed the "Heavenly Drive" talent and piloted the latest model fighter jet, could only manage to harass them before fleeing in a sorry state; anyone else going up would basically be throwing their lives away.

But...

Were they just going to stand by and watch?

Just as everyone was at a loss, Chen Jingyi's voice suddenly cut in.

"I have an idea."

Everyone's attention focused instantly.

"Speak," Li Yuan said succinctly.

She paused and pulled up the combat footage of Luo Lan supporting that wind-attribute Progenitor: "Look, the Progenitors actually have basic learning capabilities. After being besieged by the Queen's squads, they changed their tactics, learning to fight while retreating and waiting for reinforcements. This shows their combat instincts can adapt to new environments."

"Luo Lan might have been identified as an enemy because he's a biological entity, but there are previous cases of Gene Primordial Bodies cooperating with drones. We can send all the drones to support their battlefield. After all, compared to these Zerg biological weapons landing from Spore Pods, the Queens Guards are the greater threat."

"Makes sense." He nodded. "Even if we can only increase the Progenitors' combat capability by 10%, with their numbers at a hundred thousand, it'll be enough to give the Queens a hard time."

"Good!" Chu Xinghe, as the captain, confirmed the order. "All units, our drones will ascend to the orbital battlefield. The pressure we face from the Spore Pods will definitely increase. All squads, be prepared to hold the line!"

"Understood!"

The order was given, and the entire base began to operate like a precision machine.

And the battle high in the sky continued.

The wind-attribute Progenitor that Luo Lan had saved had now rendezvoused with several other Progenitors. Each Progenitor bore minor injuries—some were scratched by the blade-feet of Tyranid Warriors, others were grazed by the Queens' annihilation energy—but none were fatal.

They gathered together, back-to-back, facing the encirclement of over five hundred Tyranid Warriors and seven Queens.

The Progenitors didn't communicate, but their combat instincts led them to choose the most logical formation: the wind-attribute Progenitor in the center for long-range suppression, two fire-attribute Progenitors on the left and right wings for area-of-effect damage, an earth-attribute Progenitor in the front to tank damage, and a light-attribute Progenitor in the rear for healing and support.

A very basic tactic, but effective.

The Queen's squad's offensive was temporarily halted.

But everyone knew this was only temporary.

...

[North Star Base Defense Combat Group (Current Online: 4027)]

Ling Xi: "All drones to support the Primarch battlefield? Then won't we on the ground have to face massive offensive pressure?! Can we hold out???"

This message was followed by three terrified angel emojis—a shivering little angel clutching its wings, a dazed little angel with a question mark over its head, and a little angel about to faint with swirl-shaped eyes.

After sending the message, Ling Xi probably felt the tone wasn't serious enough and added another: "I'm not questioning the command's decision! I'm just... just a little worried! Really!"

Ye Ge: "Yo~ Isn't this our pure and cute little angel sister~ Why are you panicking already? (smirk) Do you want big sister to help you~ I can teach you some 'special' defense techniques~"

Attached to this message was a GIF of a succubus winking and acting cute, her tail swaying back and forth, looking quite provocative.

Ling Xi: "...Ye Ge, that's enough! We're discussing tactics! Can you be serious!"

Ye Ge: "I am being serious~ (innocent face) We Demon Race are best at handling 'high-pressure' environments~ whether psychological or physical~"

Sai Wei: "You two upstairs, can you flirt in private? This is a combat group!"

Ansevier: "Agreed. Also @Ye Ge, your succubus group attack capabilities don't seem that great either, do they?"

Ye Ge: "Oh my~ The little princess of Olympia is jealous~ But you're right, our area-of-effect attacks aren't strong~ so~"

She intentionally paused here before slowly sending the next message.

Ye Ge: "So that's why we have to be 'together' with the little angel sisters~ (wink) They're responsible for purification, and we're responsible for the finishing blows. Isn't that a perfect match~"

Ling Xi: "..."

Ling Xi sent a long string of ellipses, followed by a "speechless" emoji—an angel covering its face with its hands, wings drooping, against a grayscale background.

Seeing the conversation veering off track, Li Yuan quickly stepped in to take control.

Li Yuan: "Stop the bickering. Anyway, the sky is full of Zerg right now, and Spore Pods are falling like rain. Just attack as you please, smash all your high-power skills into the sky. If you hit something, it's a huge win; if you miss, it's no loss—at least you're disrupting their landing trajectories."

Chu Xinghe: "Received. But are you sure about 'attacking as we please'? What if we accidentally hit our allies?"

Luo Lan: "You won't. Currently, the sky is only filled with Zerg and Gene Primordial Bodies, and the Gene Primordial Bodies are all in sub-orbit fighting to the death with the Queens Guard. We're flying higher, and the ground fire can only reach the Spore Pods."

Chen Jingyi: "In the current range from 300 kilometers altitude to the surface, Zerg units account for 99.997%, while non-Zerg units account for 0.003%. The probability of friendly fire is less than 0.01%."

...

Base's eastern defense line.

Li Yuan stood on a temporary firing platform, holding a longbow condensed from light elements. Pale gold patterns flowed across the bow's body, and the bowstring was a thread of pure energy, vibrating slightly with his breath.

With a thought, his talent skills were activated in sequence.

[Song of Battle - Multi-Shot] — Basic archery enhancement, firing twenty energy arrows simultaneously.

[Elemental Resonance: Fire Element Enchantment] — Adds fire-attribute damage to the arrows.

[Elemental Resonance - Elemental Strike - Flame Bullet] — Produces an area-of-effect explosion upon impact.

[Elemental Resonance - Battlefield Magic - Ring of Fire] — Generates a shockwave after the explosion to push back surrounding enemies.

The four skills were executed in one smooth motion.
