93: Chapter 93: The US Army Approaches the Rocky Mountains! The Despair of the American Military!
In the presidential suite on the top floor of the Global Financial Center.
Golden sunlight streamed through the massive bulletproof glass, illuminating the spacious living room.
The indoor temperature was very comfortable, and the air was filled with a lazy atmosphere.
Chu Feng leaned back on the soft leather sofa.
Alice curled up in his arms like a docile kitten.
Her golden twin tails were scattered across Chu Feng's chest, rising and falling slightly with her breathing.
Stussy knelt beside the sofa, holding a delicate silver knife, carefully peeling an apple.
After slicing off a piece of fruit, she tilted her head up, took it with her rosy lips, and carefully leaned in to feed it to Chu Feng.
The alien woman, "Zero," stood quietly beside the workbench.
"Zero, come here." Chu Feng chewed on the apple and called out casually.
Zero immediately put down the data tablet in her hand and walked barefoot to the front of the sofa.
She tucked her water-blue hair behind her ears and tilted her head up, waiting for instructions.
Chu Feng reached out and touched the pale blue crystal on her forehead.
It felt ice-cold to the touch, and it seemed to contain a miniature nebula inside.
"Master." Zero's voice was ethereal and crisp.
"Import all the blueprints for the Star Core Race's dark matter weapons into the arsenal's database. Have the people below try to produce a batch of individual grenades." Chu Feng issued the order.
Since he wanted to mass-produce troops, his firepower had to be maxed out.
Having just the Plasma Spear was not enough.
The Clone Warriors had to be equipped with large-scale weapons of mass destruction.
"As you command, Master. The blueprints have started transferring." Zero nodded obediently.
At this moment, Anna walked over quickly in her black high heels.
"Master. No. 6 Seraph has sent back a message. The twenty-thousand-strong legion of Mecha Soldiers has arrived over the Rocky Mountains and locked onto the specific coordinates of 'Dawn Base.'"
Anna slid her finger across the holographic tablet. In the air in the center of the living room, a real-time image of the battlefield ahead was immediately projected.
Deep in the Rocky Mountains, the rolling snow-capped mountains were illuminated by the sunlight that had just dispersed the radiation clouds, reflecting a blinding white light.
And beneath the largest snow mountain was hidden the last trump card of the USA military—Dawn Base.
This base had hollowed out the entire mountain and extended five hundred meters underground.
The exterior was covered with ten meters of reinforced concrete and lead plates, enough to withstand a direct hit from a nuclear bomb.
Ever since the chaos began, Dawn Base had maintained radio silence.
It stored massive amounts of military rations, heavy armored vehicles, and even several complete ammunition production lines.
At this moment, inside the command center of Dawn Base, the atmosphere was tense to the extreme.
A white old man with five stars on his shoulders stood in front of a giant radar screen.
He was the highest-ranking general remaining in the USA, General MacArthur.
There were fifty thousand survivors in the base, twenty thousand of whom were fully armed regular troops.
An hour ago, they had seen through the periscope on the mountaintop that the nuclear radiation clouds in the sky had been forcefully torn apart by an invisible force.
The long-lost sunlight shone on the snow mountains. MacArthur was trembling with excitement at the time, thinking it was a miracle sent by God.
He immediately ordered a communication request to be sent toward Los Santos, attempting to establish contact and rebuild the ruling order of America.
As a result, the communication was like a clay ox entering the sea—there was no response.
Immediately afterward, the air defense radar emitted a shrill alarm.
"General! The radar shows a large number of giant unidentified flying objects approaching our airspace at high speed! The speed exceeds Mach 10!"
The radar operator shouted hoarsely, covered in sweat.
"Mach 10?!" MacArthur's expression changed drastically.
Active-duty heavy transport aircraft on Earth could not possibly reach this speed, and not even the most advanced fighter jets could do it.
"Turn on external surveillance immediately!"
The image on the screen flickered a few times and switched to the hidden camera on the mountaintop.
The scene that appeared on the screen made all the officers in the entire command center instantly gasp.
In the azure sky, hundreds of pitch-black, sci-fi-styled Ghost-class assault ships hovered above the snow mountains.
Their massive hulls blotted out the sky, blocking the sunlight that had just shone down once again.
This was simply not a product of Earth's technology!
"Aliens... An alien fleet has arrived!" A staff officer's legs went weak, and he collapsed into his chair.
"Shut up!" MacArthur drew the pistol from his waist and slammed it onto the table.
"No matter what they are, this is American territory! Everyone to combat stations!"
"Open Mountain Launch Silo No. 1, launch all anti-aircraft missiles! Shoot them down for me!"
Following the general's order, the rocks on the mountainside suddenly slid to both sides. Dozens of massive missile silos revealed their pitch-black launch ports.
"Boom, boom, boom!" Flames soared into the sky. Hundreds of Patriot anti-aircraft missiles, trailing long exhaust plumes like a dense swarm of bees, headed straight for the Ghost ships in mid-air.
In the Los Santos suite, Chu Feng watched the missile counterattack on the screen, his eyes showing no fluctuation whatsoever.
Over the snow mountains, facing the overwhelming missiles, the Ghost ships didn't even make any evasive maneuvers.
A layer of faint blue energy deflection shields instantly lit up on the surface of their hulls.
The missiles slammed hard into the shields. The sound of violent explosions resounded throughout the entire valley.
Blinding fireballs bloomed in succession in mid-air, kicking up violent shockwaves that shook all the snow off the surrounding peaks, triggering a massive avalanche.
However, when the smoke cleared, the hundreds of Ghost ships were still hovering steadily in the air.
Not even a ripple had been stirred up on their outermost energy shields.
Conventional gunpowder weapons, in the face of interstellar-era energy shields, were as laughable as mud thrown by children.
"How is this possible..." In the Dawn Base command center, MacArthur looked at the unscathed black ships, and the gun in his hand dropped straight to the floor.
Total firepower suppression. How could they even fight this?
Before he could recover, the Ghost ships high in the sky simultaneously opened the wide metal cargo doors at their bottoms.
Dense, black shadows descended from the sky.
Twenty thousand Clone Warriors, over two meters tall and wearing dark green Type-Zero Mecha, jumped directly from several thousand meters in the air.
They did not use parachutes. When they were one hundred meters from the ground, the buffer thrusters on the backs of their mecha instantly activated, spewing dazzling blue exhaust flames.
"Rumble!" The twenty thousand armored behemoths, weighing several tons each, crashed heavily onto the outer defense line of Dawn Base like a meteor shower.
The hard frozen ground was smashed into deep pits. The dozens of main battle tanks parked on the base's outer defense line were crushed flat by the terrifying kinetic energy of the mecha landing.
The soldiers inside didn't even manage to scream before they were turned into a pile of pulp.
The order Chu Feng had given was to raze this place. The twenty thousand Clone Warriors didn't waste any words.
The moment they landed, the Plasma Spears in their hands all sprang out, and the dazzling blue light connected into a single sheet across the snow.
The slaughter began.
In the trenches on the outskirts of the base, thousands of US soldiers fired wildly with automatic rifles.
The bullets hit the mecha's black dark energy shields and bounced off, leaving only twisted bullet heads all over the ground.
The Mecha Soldiers in the front row took heavy steps, advancing like bulldozers. They swung their spears.
The dozen-meter-long blue light blades swept across. Rows of soldiers, along with the sandbag bunkers in front of them, were instantly sliced into two.
The cut edges were scorched black, and even the blood was instantly vaporized.
As the heavy machine gunner in the fire fortress turned his gun, a mecha rushed over directly, and its armored giant fist slammed down, smashing both the man and the gun into an iron pancake.
It was a completely one-sided crush. In less than ten minutes.
The three defense lines on the outskirts of Dawn Base were completely torn apart. Everywhere were burning tank wrecks and mutilated corpses. The thousands of outer garrison troops were wiped out.
The twenty thousand Mecha Soldiers gathered in front of the main gate of the base at the bottom of the mountain. This was a giant blast door made of ten-meter-thick special alloy. It was also the last line of psychological defense for the personnel inside the base.
"Sir! The outer positions have fallen! They are attacking the main gate!" the communications soldier reported, crying out.
MacArthur's face was ashen, staring fixedly at those dark green steel monsters on the screen.
"It's impossible to break through. The main gate can't even be blown through by a nuclear bomb. As long as the gate is still there, we still have hope." The general gritted his teeth, as if comforting himself.
However, the image on the screen completely shattered his illusions. Outside the door, five dazzling white lights descended from the sky.
No. 6 to No. 10 Seraphim hovered in front of the giant alloy door. They didn't make any movements, but a brilliant light flared in their pure silver eyes.
Five high-frequency vibrating light blades swung out simultaneously. "Screech—" A harsh sound of metal tearing rang out.
The ten-meter-thick blast door, which was claimed to be able to withstand even a nuclear bomb, was as fragile as a piece of cheese in front of the individual weapons of a Level 6 civilization.
In less than a minute, a square gap several tens of meters wide was cut into the giant alloy door. The heavy metal block collapsed with a crash, smashing into the corridor inside.
Sunlight shone through the gap into the dim underground base corridor. Accompanying the sunlight, in came twenty thousand killing machines, flashing with blue light and exuding an aura of death.
In the suite, Chu Feng watched the army of mecha pouring into the corridor and casually picked up a cigar from the table.
Jessica, being very observant, immediately took out a windproof lighter and leaned forward to help Chu Feng light it, the flame reflecting on her delicate face.
Chu Feng exhaled a thick cloud of smoke. "Tell the troops in front. Except for the metal and supplies, pack up and take away all the hard drives and data terminals inside. Anyone who resists is to be executed on the spot!"
