95: Chapter 95: Dark Matter Grenade Debut! Alien Debris at the Bottom of the Grand Canyon!
Global Financial Center, top-floor suite.
Chu Feng stood up from the leather sofa.
His broad shoulders stretched out, and his bones emitted a crisp popping sound.
He strode toward the private elevator outside the suite.
The alien woman, "Zero," followed closely behind.
She was wearing a tight-fitting combat suit, and her water-blue long hair was tied into a high ponytail.
On the rooftop helipad.
A gale was howling.
Ten Twelve-Winged Seraphim had been waiting for a long time.
Their snow-white wings radiated a sacred light under the sun.
A pitch-black Ghost-class assault spaceship was parked in the center, its hatch wide open.
Chu Feng led Zero onto the spaceship and sat down in the spacious command seat.
"Head to the Colorado Grand Canyon," Chu Feng ordered.
The spaceship's engines spewed out a deep blue exhaust flame, instantly piercing the clouds and transforming into a black bolt of lightning as it sped toward the southeast.
At the same time.
On the outskirts of Dawn Base in the Rocky Mountains.
The 20,000-strong heavy Mecha Soldiers legion, having just wiped out the USA military base, received new orders.
They did not clean up the battlefield and instead boarded the hundreds of transport spaceships hovering in mid-air.
The massive fleet assembled in the air, changed direction, and pressed toward the Grand Canyon, blotting out the sky.
Inside the command cabin of the Ghost spaceship.
Chu Feng looked at the holographic topographical map in front of him.
Zero knelt half-way beside the seat, her fingers sliding quickly across the screen to pull up top-secret observation data left behind by the USA military decades ago.
"Master," Zero's clear voice rang out in the cabin, "When the 7th Fleet's resource supply ship crashed, the main engine suffered irreversible damage. Although the reactor did not explode, it has been slowly leaking high-concentration dark matter energy."
"This energy has a potent catalytic effect on the genetic chains of carbon-based organisms."
"According to the military's detection records from fifty years ago, the ecosystem at the bottom of the Grand Canyon has been completely distorted."
"It is inhabited by a large number of mutated giant beasts eroded by dark energy."
"The military once sent three special forces units down there, but they were wiped out before they could even touch the hull of the supply ship. Later, they had no choice but to seal off the entire area."
Chu Feng curled the corner of his mouth.
Earth's weapons from fifty years ago weren't even qualified to scratch the surface of high-level mutated beasts.
"It doesn't matter. Crush anything that gets in the way," Chu Feng said in a flat tone.
Half an hour later.
The massive fleet arrived over the Colorado Grand Canyon.
Looking down from high altitude, this massive rift, spanning over four hundred kilometers, looked like a hideous scar on the Earth's surface.
The reddish-brown cliffs on both sides were steep and perilous.
What was most shocking was the scene at the bottom of the canyon.
Unlike the clear sky above, the depths of the canyon were filled with a thick layer of purple toxic miasma.
In the midst of this toxic miasma, black energy lightning flashed from time to time, creating a scene straight out of an apocalyptic wasteland.
"Lower altitude. The Mecha Soldiers legion is to air-drop to the canyon floor."
Chu Feng spoke into the communicator.
Hundreds of heavy transport spaceships began to descend.
Passing through the thick purple toxic miasma, the view became dim.
The air was filled with the pungent smell of sulfur and metal.
Twenty thousand dark green Type-Zero Mecha jumped directly from mid-air.
"Boom!"
The heavy mecha slammed onto the red rocks at the bottom of the canyon, crushing the skeletons of mutated plants covering the ground.
The 20,000 enhanced Clone Warriors quickly dispersed, forming a massive defensive formation.
The Ghost spaceship carrying Chu Feng hovered in the center of the formation.
The hatch opened, and Chu Feng walked down the metal stairs, followed closely by the ten Seraphim and Zero.
Five hundred meters ahead.
A massive silver-gray spaceship wreck had most of its body embedded in the rock wall.
The surface of the wreckage was covered in strange, streamlined patterns, and although it had endured thousands of years of erosion, the hull remained as smooth and new as ever, without any traces of rust or damage.
The Level 5 civilization's strong phase-change armor could even withstand time itself.
This was the Star Core Race supply ship that hid five hundred tons of element zero.
Chu Feng stepped forward.
Just then, the reddish-brown rock walls on both sides of the canyon floor suddenly began to shake violently.
A large amount of rubble tumbled down.
"Hiss—hiss—"
Piercing insect chirps rang out from all directions.
Dense swarms of giant arthropods crawled out from the cracks in the rock walls.
These monsters looked like scorpions, but they were over five meters long.
Their bodies were covered in thick, dark purple carapaces, and the surface of their carapaces even glinted with a metallic luster.
Most terrifying were their tails, where black, strong acidic venom dripped from the barbs, corroding deep pits into the rocks wherever it landed.
Dark energy mutated Red Rock Scorpions.
Their numbers were vast; at a glance, there were at least tens of thousands of them, surging from the rock walls toward the Mecha Soldiers legion like a purple tide.
"Prepare for battle. Test the new weapons."
Chu Feng stopped, his eyes calm.
The 20,000 Mecha Soldiers did not retreat a single step.
The three thousand mecha in the front row simultaneously raised their right arms.
In the hand of each mecha was a fist-sized, pitch-black metal sphere.
These were the individual dark matter grenades rushed out overnight by the underground arsenal.
"Throw!"
The Clone Warriors commander gave the order.
Three thousand black metal spheres arced through the air, landing precisely in the densest part of the Red Rock Scorpion swarm.
There was no deafening explosion, nor was there a sky-high burst of flame.
The moment the grenades hit the ground, they emitted an extremely faint "hum."
Immediately after, the space in the area where the grenades landed seemed to suddenly collapse.
Spheres of absolute darkness, each five meters in diameter, expanded amidst the swarm.
Within the range covered by these black spheres, whether it was hard rock or the metallic carapaces the mutated Red Rock Scorpions were so proud of, everything was instantly decomposed into its most basic atomic state.
There were no screams, no blood.
Only silent annihilation.
When the black spheres dissipated, a huge chunk of the Red Rock Scorpion tide had been bitten away.
Thousands of five-meter-long giant venomous scorpions vanished into thin air, not even a scrap left behind.
Only mirror-smooth, semi-circular pits were left on the ground.
This was the terror of dark matter weapons: erasing matter directly at the molecular level.
Chu Feng watched this scene and nodded with satisfaction.
With this super-weapon, in the future when encountering massive herds of mutated beasts, he wouldn't even need to engage in melee combat. A single volley, and the world would be quiet.
The remaining Red Rock Scorpions were completely enraged by this eerie method of attack.
They accelerated and frantically lunged toward the front-line mecha position.
Hundreds of Red Rock Scorpions leaped high, waving their giant pincers, and their tail stingers stabbed fiercely at the mecha.
"Clang! Clang! Clang!"
The stingers struck the dark energy shields of the Type-Zero Mecha.
The black shields erupted with dazzling light.
High-concentration venom splashed onto the surface of the shields, emitting a "hissing" sound of corrosion.
The energy levels of the shields were dropping rapidly, but they still stubbornly blocked all attacks.
"Spears ready! Kill!"
The Mecha Soldiers legion began their counterattack.
The Plasma Spears popped out.
Twenty thousand blue light blades, each over ten meters long, swung simultaneously across the canyon floor.
The high temperature of the high-pressure plasma directly sliced through the thick carapaces of the Red Rock Scorpions.
Green, viscous blood splashed everywhere.
The severed scorpion corpses piled up like mountains, emitting an unpleasant burnt smell.
This was a one-sided massacre with no suspense.
Chu Feng paid no attention to the battle around him.
He strode forward on his long legs, walking straight through the defensive formation toward the silver-gray spaceship wreck ahead.
The Clone Warriors on both sides consciously cleared a path.
Zero followed closely by Chu Feng's side.
They arrived in front of the massive spaceship wreck.
Up close, the sheer scale of this interstellar warship was even more palpable.
Just this half-section of the hull exposed above ground was over one hundred meters high.
In front of it, a person was as tiny as an ant.
At the bottom of the spaceship was a tightly closed, diamond-shaped metal hatch.
It was seamless, so tight that even the thinnest blade couldn't be inserted.
"Open it," Chu Feng said, looking at Zero.
"As you command, Master."
Zero stepped forward and stopped one meter in front of the metal hatch.
The blue crystal on her forehead began to flash rhythmically.
Two ice-blue beams shot from her eyes, directly illuminating a blank area on the surface of the metal hatch.
The seemingly smooth metal surface instantly revealed a large amount of complex blue Star Core Race characters.
"Navigator serial number: XN-07. Identity verified. Disengaging physical locks."
A dull sound of mechanical gears turning came from inside the hatch.
"Click—hiss—"
Accompanied by the sound of high-pressure gas being released, the immensely thick diamond-shaped metal hatch slowly retracted to both sides.
A blast of ice-cold air, sealed away for thousands of years, surged out from inside the cabin.
It was pitch black inside.
Chu Feng stood outside the hatch.
His gaze pierced the darkness, and he could vaguely see a wide, all-metal corridor extending deep into the spaceship.
Suddenly.
No. 1 Seraph instantly took a step across, blocking in front of Chu Feng.
Her pure silver eyes were fixed intently on the depths of the dark corridor.
The high-frequency light blade in her hand automatically popped out.
The Hive's warning sound simultaneously rang out in Chu Feng's mind.
"Boss. An unknown high-energy reaction has been detected deep in the corridor. The target is approaching the hatch at high speed."
