Chapter 116: Nethermoon sect.There was a brief moment of silence with everyone looking at Victoria covered in flames, but then the lady with the whip spoke.

"Interesting!" She said, "I’ll take her in, clearly she’s more suited for our hall."

"Bai Xiurong! You only want to increase the amount of contribution your hall gets by acquiring another disciple." The big-breasted one snorted.

"You want her?" The one named Bai Xiurong glanced at her, "Everyone knows Shen Rouya only likes men."

"There are women in our hall ..." Shen Rouya wanted to argue, but was interrupted by Elder Wang.

"Stop it! You two give me migraines!" He said, "Since she’s already an elemental master, she can be promoted to inner disciple, but Xiurong, watch her! If she’s trouble, you’ll bear the responsibility. And calm her down, otherwise she’ll overuse her powers and become a useless vegetable."

Then he glanced at the charred body in front of Victoria, and said, "Bring Hua Mie to the Healing hall. He’s still alive, I don’t know for how long, though. It’s his own fault for molesting another disciple, so no need to involve the Hall of Justice."

The moment the man finished speaking, Bai Xiurong appeared behind Victoria who was still madly glaring at the people around her while burning in red flames, and knocked her out. Then she picked her up as if Victoria was a piece of cloth, threw her over her shoulder, and quickly disappeared between the distant buildings.

Apparently the arrival of Elder Wang forced everyone to hurry up with their tasks, and while the younger generation was cleaning up the mess, Lee was ordered to report to the district that was under the command of the Hall of Ascension.

He stood there, feeling lost, trying to hold balance on one leg, not knowing which direction to actually go. Similar to Ashland, the rift gate was in the middle of a wide field, and, similar to Ashland, the closest buildings were over a mile away.

What was different, though, was the green grass and many trees. There were even mountains in the distance, their peaks covered in snow. Seeing the beautiful nature made the time in Ashland seem like a nightmare that had passed.



"Lost?" Lee heard a young voice next to him.

Contrary to the most people he had seen so far, the youth was much younger, at most a couple of years older than him. He also didn’t wear the lavish robes like the rest, but a linen attire that resembled a robe.

"Yea." Lee said, "Which way is the Hall of Ascension?"

"You probably mean the outer sect’s part of the hall." The youth said, "Let me show you the way! Oh, wait ..."

The guy noticed Lee’s predicament and ran off to the closest batch of trees, broke off a branch and brought it to him.

Then he said, "I’m Xiao Lian, by the way. Welcome to the Nethermoon sect!"

"Hi, I’m Lee!" Lee said, and followed his new guide, awkwardly limping on one leg.

"Where are you from, Lee? I must say you’re lucky you were admitted to our hall. This is the best one if you want to achieve good results in cultivation. We have the most junior elders as well, although the strongest ones are always snatched by the Hall of Justice ..."

Turns out Xiao Lian had oral diarrhea, and Lee didn’t even need to reply anything to keep the conversation going. On the other hand, the guy was thrilled there was someone to talk to, because they had quite a long road ahead of them.

Obviously for Lee it seemed even longer, because of the increased gravity and his broken leg, and the fact that they mostly went uphill also didn’t help.



From Xiao Lian he understood that the sect actually occupied lands hundreds of miles in all directions. But this was where all the fun stuff happened. Here lived thousands of outer and inner sect’s disciples, but the sect itself was built like a city and divided in more or less equal districts governed by nine halls.

According to Xiao Lian, from above the place looked like a pie cut in nine pieces, but he hadn’t seen it himself because he lacked the artifact required for it, despite his uncle being some kind of a big shot in the sect. For some reason he seemed upset about the fact, but Lee might’ve as well be mistaken. The guy spoke so fast and so much, Lee’s mind spun, but it was fine as long as he was brought to his destination.

After refusing multiple times to go to the Healing Hall to take a look at his leg, in the afternoon they arrived to the outer sect’s district belonging to the Hall of Ascension. This was supposed to be Lee’s home for the foreseeable future, and he was even looking forward to it.

Yes, he was like a clueless hillbilly in comparison to the people in the fancy robes, all wielding otherworldly powers. But in half a day here he had learned more about cultivation than the last five years combined. And all of that was from listening to one blabbermouth. He couldn’t even imagine what would the lectures, that the inner disciples held, bring.

More importantly, he kind of knew two of them and both were elemental masters. Of course, he had to clean their rooms for the upcoming months, but it was a small price to pay for getting out of the hell that was Ashland.

And the people here were helpful and kind ... except with that thought Lee kind of managed to jinx the whole situation.

After bringing Lee to pick up his token that proved his identity of the outer disciple of the Hall of Ascension, Xiao Lian helped him to find the place he was supposed to stay. Turns out, it was a separate room in a one-story house, where three more outer disciples lived. Each had their own entrance and, judging by Xiao Lian’s reaction, the place was considered to be quite fancy.

There were other people who thought the same way. Next to Lee’s door sat five guys, raging from the age of approximately fourteen to sixteen.

One of them, the tallest, said the moment the two arrived, "You took your damned time! Like I’ve got nothing better to do than to wait for you all day!"

"Xie Wuking! What are you doing here?" The careless expression on Xiao Lian’s face disappeared the moment he saw the bunch.

"I came to help out brother Gong to seek justice." Xie Wuking said, "Looks like the higher ups have mixed something up and gave the newcomer this place as well as the job in the inner sect. You, there! Sign this to transfer your duties and this residence to brother Gong!"



The last part was addressed to Lee, who was slightly lost. A kid coming over and claiming there was a mistake didn’t make any sense ... except ... if it was attempt to bully a newbie.

"What’s going on?" He asked Xiao Lian.

"Looks like the news travel fast around here ..." Xiao Lian said, but was interrupted by an impatient boy.

"It’s you who were too slow." He said, "Hurry up and sign, so I can finally get my new home."

Apparently this was the brother Gong who had eyed Lee’s place.

"I don’t have to do that, right?" Lee asked Xiao Lian.

"Not really, but ..."

"... but stop meddling in, Lian!" Xie Wuking said with a snort, "I don’t care who your uncle is – I’ll challenge you for a month straight if you mess this up!"

Seeing Xiao Lian’s taking involuntary step back, Lee got his confirmation, but contrary to his guide, he wasn’t scared.

"What’s that all about challenging you?" He asked.

"Anyone in the sect can challenge another disciple to an exchange of pointers. You can refuse, of course, but you’ll become a laughing stock for the rest of your life and bring shame to the Hall of Ascension ..." Xiao Lian explained.

"Oh! I see." Lee nodded, but contrary to expectations, he turned to the bullies and said, "I’m dead tired and my leg is broken. Can we do this tomorrow? I promise to think about your proposal!"
