Chapter 170: Mo Qingsha."Lian, listen. It’s important!" Lee said, "That bitch came at us intending to kill, so I need to find a way to lay low for a while."

"Brother Lee, you remember!" Xiao Lian was thrilled his friend recognized him and missed the point Lee was trying to make.

"Yes. But it’s a secret. I need you to play along – the best way would be if you become upset at me." Lee said.

Obviously his caring friend would come over and pester him every day, making the whole endeavor a challenge. It was better to figure out a scenario where Xiao Lian was offended and didn’t want to meet again.

"Why?" Xiao Lian asked.

"Because she will surely come after me the moment she learns I’m alive." Lee said, "I want to persuade the junior elder to lock me up in the library again."

"But ... what will you do?" Xiao Lian was lost, "Can’t you honestly tell who the killer was? Senior Brother Edward died ..."

"Think, Lian!" Lee poked his friend’s forehead, "If one had to choose between a random kid, a thief, and a strong elemental master, who would they pick? Besides, she surely has prepared an alibi or something, so it will be mine word against hers!"

"Hahaha! This rascal!" The moment Elder Wang opened his eyes, he began to loudly laugh. During the past couple of days he was in a bad mood as the whole sect was preparing for the sect master’s funeral. But what he just saw was at least somewhat amusing.



"What did he say?" Shen Rouya asked.

She never believed Lee had amnesia, but her idea of him disclosing the identity of the murderer was good. Unfortunately the stubborn boy refused to listen to the reason and instead of a portrait drew a cultivation technique.

Shen Rouya was loosing patience with him, but decided to go the hard way – asked Elder Wang for help. After all, the two kids below were involved in the murder of the sect master, and it was possible they held more relevant information.

"He’s got no amnesia." Elder Wang said, chuckling while wiping a tear from his eye, "He wants you to force him to work in the library again."

"Who’s the killer?" Shen Rouya asked the main question.

"One of our disciples." Elder said, "A female."

"You do realize she killed your student?" Shen Rouya asked, and immediately spoiled the mood.

"Sigh ... yes ... but you don’t know why." Elder Wang said, "Maybe the kid stole something from her, maybe Edward and the others ganged up on her ... and ... you know ..."

"So you’ll let this slide?" Shen Rouya didn’t like elder’s words.

"Let’s allow the kids deal with their problems. We have our own worries." He said, "The emissary will arrive soon to oversee the funeral. He’ll definitely force us to pick the new sect master as soon as possible. And we’ll have to entertain him ... how I hate politics!"

"Then what do we do with this?" Shen Rouya asked, waving the paper in her hand.

"It’s Xiao kid’s friend. Let him be safe in the library for a while." The elder said, and the matter was settled.

Lee had no clue that the true author of Lunax’s skill that allowed him to observe other worlds was Elder Wang. He also had no clue that the elder witnessed his and Xiao Lian’s conversation without having a visual presentation in the form of the eyes on the ceiling.



On the other hand, Lee was thrilled to find out that Junior Elder Shen allowed him to work in the library again.

Xiao Lian, although unwillingly, followed Lee’s instructions and distanced from him. From that day on the boys only exchanged few sentences in the outer sect’s arena where they met during afternoon training.

Indeed. Lee decided that the time has come for a new approach regarding cultivation.

After experiencing Victoria’s skills on his own skin, literally, Lee decided he had fooled around for long enough. In order to complete the revenge, his approach had to become more ruthless both to Victoria and himself. With this thought, Lee changed his schedule completely.

During the first half of the day, he copied techniques in the library, but spent afternoons in a remote corner of the arena grounds, practicing. The strange part was that he kept repeating only one move – the thrust.

He knew that no matter how he trained, even if he stabbed her, he would lack the lethal fire power. But after her failed attempt to kill him, Lee figured out a way to increase it. First, though, he had to solve the problem at hand – become quick enough to land the hit.

Lee spent the day of the sect master’s funeral in his library room to avoid the ruckus and the chance of stumbling upon Victoria.

Meanwhile, the sect was mourning, with many people calling out for blood. The sect master wasn’t the only one who was killed during the attack, and people were hungry for revenge. In fact, the common expectation was that the elders would declare the war against the intruders.

There were many rumors flying around, but at this point everyone knew that the attack was the joint operation of Blackwater sect, Shattered Sigil sect, and Iron Maw sect. They were puny sects compared to the Nethermoon sect, and disciples itched to pay back for loosing their friends.

What Lee didn’t know was that this day would change his life entirely, even though he spent most of it locked up in the room.

"Junior Sect Leader!" Elder Wang politely bowed towards a young man, probably in his early thirties.

He was dressed in black robe, with red dragon embroidered on its back. Both his clothing and bearing was elegant, and at the same time simple.

Elder Wang didn’t let the man’s youthful appearance fool him. The guy was centuries younger, but there was a chilling aura about him that kept the elder on edge.



"How should I address you – Junior Sect Leader Mo or Emissary Mo?" Elder asked.

He and the other elders, the ones who were still alive, that is, for the bigger part of the day were waiting for the big-shot from the Celestial Abyss sect to arrive. They patiently stood at the central plaza of the inner sect that this time was void of any disciples.

They didn’t expect that the representative will be the sect master’s son, Mo Qingsha – a regular elder would’ve been more proper. On the other hand, not every day a subsidiary sect was holding a funeral for their own sect master.

Besides, the attack Thorne Evergale was killed in, was a slap in the Celestial Abyss’s face as well and it was highly likely that the parent sect would request a proper retaliation.

"I don’t care, but Junior Sect Leader Mo is fine." Mo Qingsha said, "Let’s get to it. I’m a busy man!"

Contrary to expectations, Mo Qingsha didn’t say the eulogy, but let Elder Wang do the honors. He didn’t come here to show off, but to deliver a report to his father afterwards.

Few elders noticed that Mo Qingsha’s stone cold expression clearly indicated that he was impatiently waiting for the formal part to be over as soon as possible. Apparently he didn’t know Sect Master Evergale, or more likely – didn’t care the man was dead.

When the funeral pyre was lit, the leaders left have a feast, but according to the tradition, the fire would continue to burn for three days and nights, honoring the memory of the passed leader.

Mo Qingsha didn’t stand in ceremony and took the host’s seat, indicating Shen Rouya to sit to his left. Junior elder pretended to not see his motion nor the way he stared at her humongous breasts, and with a straight face sat next to Elder Wang, creating a safe distance from the man.

In an instant everyone was clear what the rest of the day was going to be about, and Elder Su rushed to make some last minute changes to the previously arranged program.

Turns out the big-shot had arrived to the country, expecting peasants to entertain him. The most upsetting thing was that he intended to enjoy some carnal pleasures as well. Apparently Junior Sect Master considered the subsidiary sects to be nothing but brothels.
