Chapter 144 144: Daddy Is A Politician?

Leo was surprised and he asked, "Did you verify it this time?"

Jock flinched a bit and nodded, "Yes, Sir. I apologize for jumping the gun last time."

Leo shook his head and he said, "Leave the dossier in the car, I will read it when I head to the office."

Jock nodded and the young man left the house with Lily running ahead of him. The little girl was very disciplined and every day the distance she ran was increasing a little bit. Like daily, Lily got tired after three quarters of the lap and Leo carried her on his shoulders.

They finished a couple of laps before they went back home, freshened up and then Leo made a light, protein rich breakfast. The young couple drove out with Lily in the back seat. Snow was driving the vehicle today and she asked as Leo skimmed through the dossier, "Is this about yesterday?"

Leo nodded and replied with a humm, they reached the school, and Lily kissed them both on their cheeks as they headed to the office. Without Lily around, Snow asked, "What is going on?"

Leo replied calmly, "It seems to me that the Primal family has been trying to infuse itself in the political corridor of the Clover Nation and they are doing this to gain leverage from the legal loopholes."

Snow turned the car to the side and said, "How is that possible? The constitution forbids any political family from partaking in commercial activities."

Leo shook his head and said, "That won't last for long, given the capital the government wants for the country to develop, they would either have to increase the taxes, or they would need help from the donations of the private sector. However, which businessman would be willing to share what they earn?"

Snow nodded and said, "Makes sense, so how is the Primal Family considered to be in the picture?"

Leo replied, "They have been bidding and winning the government projects for quite some time now. Along with the fact that they are more or less involved in almost every commercial field that exists, they do have the power to cause the people to sway to their tune."

Snow thought for a bit and then she asked, "What about Anthony? What is he doing in this?"

Leo replied, "He is not running a lottery business, but a money laundering operation. He has several employees in his pocket as he has been meeting with these people on an almost daily basis nowadays. They are trying to form a faction that would be able to put forward the word of the family in front of the cabinet to pass the bill to allow the political families to get a piece of cake. The elections are near, and the Primals are buying in on the cabinet."

Snow frowned and asked, "Although it is difficult for us to stop them, it is not impossible. The government employees they are buying from can catch them red handed and foil their plans."

Leo shook his head and said, "They are not only limited to the Angkor City, they are making moves in the capital, and all the people love money. This is a chain of networks, and they are using hard cash to deal with each other. Imagine, no digital trail, the money comes out of banks and then is gathered and collected in one place before it is circulated to the ministers and the local politicians. How many people are linked in this, we cannot possibly track all of them, can we? There is only one way to disrupt this plan."

Snow replied as she parked the car before the building entrance, "Capturing the money in transit."

Leo nodded, and the two of them opened their respective doors to get out of the car. They moved inside the office, and Leo said, "Kyle, come over."

As they were moving forward, Leo spotted Dylan Rhodes sitting in the reception area lobby, he looked at the receptionist and said, "June, send Mister Rhodes upstairs ten minutes later."

The lady nodded with a smile, "Yes, President."

The couple continued to the top floor, where Leo followed Snow in her office, and Kyle went inside with them. The young man said, "I have a task for you."

Kyle nodded and Leo said, "Remember Simon Silence?"

Kyle nodded and Leo said, "Ask him to get you some of his best and most cunning operatives and plant them deep beside the leaders who are in touch with any member of the Primal family. If the targeted person receives a large amount of money, then inform us and get another team of the people to raid the spots where the money is stored."

Kyle took a gulp and said, "Sir, that would need at least four hundred men."

Leo nodded and said, "We have such force under Simon's command. His men have been training for a long time. You don't have to strike as soon as the ministers get the money, just snatch it before they can use the capital to buy out the votes for themselves."

Kyle nodded and then he said, "I will go and arrange it."

Snow said, "Kyle."

The guard turned around and Snow said, "Be careful. None of our men should die needlessly. Make sure of that, okay?"

Kyle bowed and said, "I will ensure that, Madam."

That said, he left the office, and Snow asked, "This is going to be a complicated situation."

Leo nodded in agreement and then he said, "I never said it was a walk in the park, but I will make them pay for everything they did regardless of what they have in store for me."

Snow nodded, and then she looked at the side where Dylan was being guided by June. She said, "Go, you have another meeting to handle."

The young man nodded and exited her office, and met Dylan in the corridor. He smiled at June and said, "Thank you, June."

June bowed faintly and said, "It is just my job, Sir."

Leo then gestured for Dylan to follow him and after they entered the cabin, they sat down on the couch and Leo asked, "Did you get some sleep?"

Dylan nodded and said, "Thank you for all that you are doing."

Leo shook his head and said, "I am not a saint and I will not be giving you anything for free. You want to get to your son, and I wish to collect the blood debt from the people who owe me. Simple as that, but if you tried to take advantage of me, I will make you understand why that is a bad idea."

Dylan sighed, he didn't mind Leo's curt gaze or harsh words, after all, he was somewhat involved with the people who were directly involved in the deaths of the latter's parents.

He nodded and said, "Sir, you don't have to worry, I hate those people, probably more than you can imagine. I understand that you might feel that how can my hatred be higher or more than yours?

Sir, I married my wife ten years ago, we were both eighteen years old, and we were just starting a new life. I did everything that I could to make her happy. Since young, my parents left me alone in this world, it was my wife who gave me a sense of purpose. When seven years ago, I was blessed with a son, I thought I have achieved it all and we came to the city to provide a better future for her.

However, my wife, who used to be so kind and genial, turned into a murderer because she had fallen in love with money. It broke my heart, she killed herself, and the love of my life at the same time. At this moment, she is still holding my son close to herself, because she cannot afford my retaliation. Had it not been for my son, I would have left the place and killed her with my own hands."

Leo heard Dylan speak, it was just like yesterday, the man before him looked even a bit more rugged in formal clothing and his words could convince even the prophets that he was truly angry. The young man leaned forward slightly and said, "Can you join in as a security guard here? Or do you wish to do something else?"

Dylan shook his head and said, "I assume you pay them handsomely, so, I will stick to the task of security as per your arrangements."

Leo nodded and said, "I will also get you accommodations, and then you would have a place to bring your son as well."

Dylan bowed his head and said, "Thank you, once again Sir."

Leo shook his head and said, "I will give you a task, you are to…"

Dylan listened to Leo for a few minutes and then he opened his eyes wide. What Leo told him shook his soul, but then he agreed and said, "I will get this done without fail, Sir."
