Chapter 383: Morning Star Tower.

Leo leaned back in his chair and asked Markus, "What should we do now? I am aware that these people are like apex predators, they dwell among us, but none can identify the top brass. Or more like, they don’t dare to expose anyone even after identifying the people."Markus nodded and replied, "The only edge that we have is that the influence sphere they have in the Clover Nation or the rest of the eastern countries is rather shallow as of yet. So, they will not be reaching out too much."

Leo frowned and shook his head, "They sent assassins to carry out their will, this is not actually an action, but a message. They wish to tell me that they have me on their radar. To get to me, they would go to any lengths."

Markus frowned and asked, "Sir, if that is the case, what shall we do?"

The young man frowned and said, "I will think about it, but the situation is not yet that depressing. Let us not rush off to our falls, these people are anything but easy to handle. The way they have hollowed out the society and made it a filthy place, I swear, even parasites are not as disgusting as them."

Markus was of the same opinion and after a few moments of silence he said, "Sir, I am sure that there must be some sign that we could use to identify these fuckers and be done with them."

Leo looked at him and replied, "Markus, as much as I want to get rid of this trash in the human populace, I need to make sure that no harm befalls my family. They are trying to hinder us because we might be going against their ideas. So, for now while the enemy is hidden in the dark, let us handle it calmly. One step at a time. Well, for now, let’s head down and have a meal, we are sitting in and the people would be getting ideas."

Markus nodded and then left the study with Leo. And sure enough as soon as they went down stairs they were asked what they were doing. Leo just shook his head and told them it was related to work, the recent flow of clients in the Pinnacle Securities was driven from the west and so they were discussing about that only.

The dinner began, and Leo sat down with Lily in his lap, she began to eat from his plate like her usual ritual of claiming the territory, while Leo slipped in and out of the conversation and thought if he was really on the right track. He thought, if the children were really in danger, than the system would have initiated a task for him. However, since nothing like that happened, was he wrong?

As of now, the circumstances are not that grave, but the possibility would always exist. Leo thought about it and then nodded as he chewed on a creamy mushroom that Lily fed him. His eldest didn’t like mushroom much but she always picked up some for him. After the dinner came to an end, the people all shared a piano performance and Leo sang while Lily played the instrument and Leo held both his children in his arms as they tried to make sounds to imitate his singing.

Leo could understand that they were singing chorus, while the rest of the people were chuckling and found the twins adorable. The night came to an end and Leo and Snow returned to their room.

Leo sat beside Snow, and asked, "Love, have you ever heard any rumors related to the Morning Star Tower in the Stag Royalty?"

Snow was surprised for a second and then she asked, "Why do you ask about this all of a sudden?"

Leo shrugged and replied, "I am just curious if the things that are circulating about them are real? I mean nobody has even seen their symbol. They are working in secret and only a name echoes among the conspiracy theorists. I am feeling rather curious and thinking about writing a movie about this."

Snow rolled her eyes and asked, "What do you even know about writing a script?"

The young man scratched the back of his head and pulled her in his arms as he said, "Come on! Just entertain me for a bit. Tell me what is going on?"

Snow sighed and replied, "When I was a teenager sometimes I would gather with the girls from the circle and they would talk about a few things. One of them being horror stories. One of the stories caught my eye back then.

It is said that the royal family of the Stag Nation is descendant of a demi-human. This demi-human was a man with reptile body below the waist. The lore was developed by some rebelling dukes and counts during the 17th century. However, I have noticed one common trait among the royal family."

Leo raised his brow and asked, "What would that be?"

Snow cozied up in his arms, "The monarch of the country would always be someone with green eyes. Does not matter what their standing in the family is, gradually they would become the most loved by the people, or would show immense talent in political affairs."

Leo frowned and asked, "Isn’t that the power of media manipulation?"

Snow nodded and said, "That is why I find it amusing. They manipulate the media and then they would crown the one with green eyes. Three generations ago, the Queen was the only one who could ascend as all her siblings, passed away in the war. However, if you notice, only the queen had green eyes, and none of the boys did."

Leo furrowed, he found it very freaky, but he knew that it could be a key point. Snow thought Leo was interested in listening so she continued, "Only one person on the throne didn’t have green eyes."

Leo raised his brows and asked, "Who might that be?"

Snow smiled and corrected her figurative detective glasses with a gesture in the air, and said in a deeper voice, "That would be the founding emperor. Alex Stag, the Scepter of Justice and Generosity. Alex the first, didn’t have green eyes, he had brown."

Leo frowned and then picked up the tablet on the side. It was what Snow was using to read a book. He opened a tab and then began to operate it. After a few minutes, he sighed and passed the tablet to Snow and said, "It seems, that the so called Royal Seer, was the only one among the twelve seats of the founding generation had green eyes and his daughter was the first Empress."

Snow sat up, and then she read the article that Leo had found. The young man then again began to scour the Internet for details of various nations and the powerful families, he found one thing that made his brain rattle.

Almost all the people in the western powers had green eyes. Many of the powerful families in the world had the patriarchs with green eyes. Leo also noticed something about these people. This one thing that had been scratching at his heart for a few days now.

He said, "Snow, you go to bed, I will go and read into the reports for the space elevator. Percie had asked me to look into it for a few things."

Then he stood up and just when he was about to leave the room, Snow said, "Are you looking into the Morning Star Tower?"

Leo froze and since he had been asked about the topic fairly he didn’t want to lie, and said, "Yes, I am."

Snow nodded faintly and said, "Leo, if you find the proof of their existence, destroy them."

Leo was surprised and turn to look at her with eyes wide open as Snow said, "One of the tales about these people is that they have some satanic rituals. When I was twelve, one of my best friends, who was from the Branch of the Royal Family, went missing. A few days later, we heard that she fell from the stairs and died. She was born on a full moon night and she went missing just before her sixteenth birthday. It was a closed coffin funeral.

It was only after my first kill did I get to see the files in the Imperial Coroner’s office. She had been put through something far worse then death."

Then Snow explained the scene to Leo, which left him so enraged that his fist had turned white as jade.
