213: Chapter 214 Golden Body Transformation: Harvesting the Spoils of War
After a few hours of tempering, the energy of the Blood Sacrifice Altar was completely suppressed.
His damaged Meridians recovered under the nourishment of the true dragon relic blood. Lin Qi looked inward and saw dark golden patterns imprinted into his bone marrow, while the precious light of his skin had been restrained into his flesh.
The toughness of this Physical Body had risen by a significant level.
Lin Qi's control over his strength had reached a state of precision where every inhale and exhale could induce resonance in the air.
He exhaled a breath of stale air and opened his eyes.
"The foundation for the Indestructible Golden Body has been firmly laid. Next, all that is missing is resources. As long as the money is in place, my Physical Body can be elevated infinitely."
Lin Qi stood up and flexed his wrists, his joints cracking audibly. He threw a punch, and the pure physical strength created an air ring in the air.
He stepped off the stone platform, with Ying Wan's corpse sprawled out in front.
"Let me see what good loot you, this rat, have hidden on you," Lin Qi sneered.
"You traveled so far to kill me, you must have brought travel expenses. Delaying my training and collecting some compensation for damages isn't too much to ask."
He crouched down and rummaged through the corpse's clothes.
Under the twenty-fold gravity suppression, spatial folding became ineffective, and the Storage Ring became a useless decoration.
Assassins could only keep life-saving items on their person. Lin Qi gave a hard tug, tearing open the night-walking suit.
"A dignified gold-ranked assassin goes out carrying this bit of junk? Is the Shadow Blade Alliance going bankrupt? You didn't even bring gold bars; you deserve to be crushed to death."
Lin Qi looked at the rags and grumbled. If it were anyone else, there would be a prompt for dropped equipment at this point.
Unfortunately, he was a Blank Slate, so he had to do it himself, lacking even the pleasure of looting corpses for gear.
After rummaging for a long time, he pulled out a few curious items; the most conspicuous one was an ancient jade engraved with runes.
Holding it in his hand, he felt a faint coolness. This was clearly a treasure capable of blocking mental attacks.
"Physical defense is maxed out, and now mental defense is just right," Lin Qi stuffed the ancient jade into his pants pocket.
He then pulled out a few metal lumps.
These were signal transmitters made from special Materials, and one of them had already been shattered.
He picked up the remaining intact transmitter, from which a faint sound of electric current emanated.
"This bunch of stubborn leeches from the Li family sure have many eyes."
Lin Qi stared at the transmitter, his tone cold and ruthless. "Li Qingcang, you old dog, I know you can hear me. The fly you sent has been swatted to death by me. I will go to the capital personally to collect the debt you owe me."
Without waiting for a reaction from the other side, Lin Qi tightened his five fingers.
Under his overbearing physical strength, the metal transmitter was crushed into powder.
He lifted his shoe and completely ground the metal powder on the ground into dust.
In the secret underground base in the capital, the air was heavy.
On the screen, Ying Wan's signal source went dark, and the loudspeaker broadcasted Lin Qi's declaration.
"Speak! What does it mean for the red dot to turn gray?" Li Qingcang stared at the screen, his voice filled with panic.
"Patriarch, the target's heartbeat has dropped to zero, and the signal source has been cut off," the technical supervisor reported, swallowing hard.
Li Qingcang kicked over his desk violently, the heavy solid wood table crashing to the floor.
"Bullshit! That is Ying Wan, a gold-ranked assassin of the Shadow Blade Alliance."
Li Qingcang roared at the supervisor. That man was holding the fang of the night god; how could he possibly die at the hands of a Blank Slate?
A nearby Elder quickly stepped forward to persuade him, saying that the gravity in the Dragon Tomb was abnormal, so perhaps the instrument was just broken.
"Contact the Shadow Guild to confirm Ying Wan's status. I want to see a person if he's alive, or a corpse if he's dead."
The liaison's fingers tapped on the keyboard, and minutes later, his face turned deathly pale.
"Patriarch, the Shadow Guild has replied. Ying Wan's soul tablet has shattered, and they are demanding that we pay the full penalty fee."
Li Qingcang sat in his chair, muttering to himself.
"He died just like that while carrying a Tier 6 genetic poison? That was a weapon with a Karma-based judgment attached to it. What kind of monster is Lin Qi exactly?"
He clutched his head and messed up his hair, while the other high-level members in the hall were in chaos.
"Dozens of elites have been wiped out, and now even the assassin has fallen. This Lin Qi is simply unkillable."
"He is like a fish in water within the Dragon Tomb; our people going in is purely suicide."
"Patriarch, the losses have already exceeded ten billion. We cannot continue this endless consumption."
Li Qingcang suddenly looked up and roared, "Shut up! All of you, shut up!"
"If he doesn't die, where will the Li family's face go? Shaobai was trampled under his feet at school, and his Dao Heart was shattered."
"The elites were slaughtered like pigs and dogs by him, and the entire Federation is watching the joke. How can the Li family establish a foothold in the capital?"
Li Qingcang fell into madness and issued an order.
"Tell the warehouse to take that thing out."
"Patriarch, you cannot! That is the foundation left by the Old Patriarch, a strategic weapon for dealing with Void Realm lords."
"I said take it out! Go to the black market and issue the highest-level bounty."
Li Qingcang's expression was ferocious. Whoever could bring back Lin Qi's head, he was willing to cede thirty percent of his assets.
The high-level members gasped, feeling that the Patriarch had gone mad.
"Under heavy rewards, there must be brave men. Those reclusive old monsters will risk their lives for this price."
Li Qingcang stared fixedly at the screen, cursing.
He wanted to see if Lin Qi's mortal Physical Body could withstand the pursuit of the entire Federation.
In the monitoring room of the Longya Academy, Elder Mo stared blankly at the screen.
Instructor Su Qing supported herself with both hands on the table, obvious emotional fluctuations appearing on her face.
She let out a long breath, her voice filled with excitement. "He survived, destroying a legendary weapon with his bare hands and counter-killing Ying Wan."
Elder Mo scrambled up from the floor, his face full of shock.
"Snapping a dagger with Law attached using just two fingers? Has his Physical Body become so strong that it ignores the System's judgment?"
Instructor Su Qing stared intently at the red dot representing Lin Qi, anxiously asking about his physical condition.
"He is alive and kicking; he must have digested the true dragon relic blood."
Elder Mo shook his head while looking at the incomplete data; this Physique was simply a bottomless pit.
"High-dimensional poison that the System cannot filter, he drank it like water. What a freak."
Instructor Su Qing relaxed, her eyes turning cold again.
"I will go and request personnel to head to the Dragon Tomb exit to provide support. That old fox from the Li family will not let this rest."
Elder Mo waved his hand and recorded the combat data; this muscle structure was perfect, all lethal killing techniques.
Instructor Su Qing left the monitoring room, silently praying that Lin Qi would not die inside.
She was counting on Lin Qi to lift the curse on her.
In the twenty-fold gravity zone at the bottom of the Dragon Tomb, Lin Qi thought of Zhang Wei.
"That fatty has probably already collected the betting money into his pocket," he rubbed his chin.
"Over 680 billion Federation Credits is enough to buy top-grade medicinal Materials. The Indestructible Golden Body will depend on this money to fill the hole."
Tempering the Physical Body with ancient martial arts was a money-burning bottomless pit. Lin Qi raised his head and looked around.
The coerced Prodigies had long since run off without a trace.
"The monk may run, but the temple cannot. After I finish looting the Opportunity, I will slowly settle accounts with you all."
Lin Qi sneered, his eyes flashing with sharpness.
"The warm-up is over; now it's time to properly collect the debt."
He walked along the bone fissure toward the depths of the Dragon Tomb.
Under the gravity suppression, the Ghost Shadow Yu Step appeared heavy, leaving clear footprints with every step.
Dragon bone remains could be seen everywhere around him.
Lin Qi picked up a Qi and Blood Crystal and crushed it, finding that the essence inside had been drained.
It seemed the good stuff had become nourishment for the Blood Sacrifice Altar. Lin Qi picked up his pace.
Ahead appeared a huge stone door emitting a faint light, with patterns carved on it.
He stepped forward and placed both hands on the door panel.
He took a deep breath, and the sound of tendons and bones resonating came from within his body.
"Rise!" The Baji Mountain Crushing Force erupted instantly.
His monstrous physical strength pushed open the dust-laden stone door, and a violent aura surged out from the crack.
Lin Qi's eyes flashed with a bloodthirsty light.
"The good show has just begun. The Li family better prepare some surprises for me, otherwise, collecting debts would be too boring."
