46: Chapter 46 Ignoring Defense, Hidden Force Shatters Elites

Lin Qi sidestepped the skeleton soldier's slash.

The broken long blade grazed past his sportswear.

He did not retreat; his left hand shot out quickly, his five fingers accurately gripping the wrist of the skeleton holding the blade.

"Lin Qi, hurry and dodge!" Zhao Xiaoyu screamed from behind.

Lin Qi ignored her, his palm pressed tightly against that section of pale, withered bone.

He exerted force from his wrist, and a rotational power spread outward.

"Crack."

A crisp impact sound rang out in the corridor.

The skeleton's wrist joint shifted directly, and the originally locked bones detached.

The rusted broken blade lost its support and fell vertically into the muddy stagnant water.

"What kind of technique is this?" Wang Kai rubbed his eyes, his face full of astonishment.

"Attacking the joint connections," Lin Qi answered calmly.

He took a stride forward, his right sole kicking precisely at the back of the skeleton soldier's knee.

The skeleton, having lost its balance, could not maintain a standing position and knelt on one knee directly in front of Lin Qi.

Lin Qi reached out both hands, grasping the skeleton's massive skull from left and right.

The muscle groups in his arms produced high-frequency vibrations in that second.

"Rotate."

Lin Qi let out a low shout, his hands crossing and twisting in opposite directions.

"Snap!"

The entire skull was violently twisted three hundred and sixty degrees.

The cervical vertebrae shattered into powder, and the dark red Soul fire inside the skull flickered twice before extinguishing completely.

The originally formidable Rank 12 skeleton soldier fell apart into a pile of lifeless, rotten bones before Lin Qi.

The entire process took no more than three seconds.

"My god, he didn't even activate a skill," Chen Huo swallowed hard.

"That's not a skill, that's a combat technique," Zhang Wei corrected from the side. "Brother Qi calls this dissection."

The remaining two skeleton soldiers rushed up, brandishing their bone blades.

Lin Qi's figure began to weave.

He dodged the oncoming sweep, his right hand fingers pressed together, accurately striking the rib fulcrum of one of the skeletons.

The force penetrated inward.

The skeleton seemed to have suffered a heavy blow, its side immediately collapsing.

Lin Qi turned and delivered a side kick, landing squarely on the other skeleton's spine.

The sound of bones shattering merged into one.

Three skeleton soldiers turned into trash on the ground in just ten seconds.

"Wang Kai, you said earlier that this monster had high defense?" Lin Qi turned his head and asked.

Wang Kai looked down at his trembling hands, then at the broken dagger, feeling awkward about where to put them.

"It is high! The System shows 350 physical defense," Wang Kai stuttered in explanation. "But you didn't even try to hack at its bones just now."

"If the structure is damaged, no matter how high the defense is, it's useless," Lin Qi walked back to the front of the team. "Let's go, it's not over yet."

At this moment, on the main screen of the Tianhai City Combat Hall, the footage of Group 44 was pushed directly to the center position.

The number of viewers in the livestream room exceeded fifty thousand.

"Is that white-board student playing with building blocks?"

"I saw it clearly, that's Spiral Force, a method of exerting power from the Ancient Martial Arts school."

"In this digitized world, is there actually someone who practices such thankless stuff?"

In the spectator stands, the admissions observer from Longya Academy, Xue Ping, took off his glasses and wiped them carefully.

He solemnly wrote in his notebook: "Tianhai No. 3 High School, Lin Qi. Extremely strong attainments in biological dissection, suspected Ancient Martial Arts Legacy, recommended for the special recruitment assessment list."

In the footage, Lin Qi had already led the team to the first open area of elite monsters.

A huge dark shadow lay at the intersection, blocking the way.

[Stone Beetle (Elite Rank)]

[Rank: LV.15]

[Attributes: Rock, High Armor]

The monster's size was like a miniature tank, its whole body covered in a grayish-brown rock shell, with edges that looked over ten centimeters thick.

"This is impossible to fight," Chen Huo raised his staff, then let it drop powerlessly. "My fireball just tickles it; this rock shell is immune to 60% of fire elemental damage."

"My arrows can't pierce it either," Wang Kai tried to draw his bow fully, but finally gave up. "With this kind of defense, we need at least a Silver-Rank armor-piercing weapon."

Just as everyone was in despair, in a shadow in the distance, a blurry figure was coldly watching all of this.

That was Ying Wan, disguised as an ordinary examinee.

He looked at Lin Qi not far away, the corner of his mouth twitching.

"Good physical fitness, but in this world, technique cannot save your life," Ying Wan muttered to himself.

He took a small transparent bottle out of his pocket, filled with a pale blue liquid.

[Advanced Monster Luring Potion].

He crushed the bottle in the shadow.

A colorless and odorless aura quickly spread through the air.

Deep in the cave, those sleeping monsters seemed to smell the most alluring scent of blood and began to stir.

Lin Qi was observing the Stone Beetle.

He suddenly stopped his footsteps, his brows knitting together.

The flow in the air was not right.

The smell had changed.

"Lin Qi, why did you stop?" Zhao Xiaoyu asked nervously.

"Someone gave us a push from behind." Lin Qi looked into the depths of the pitch-black corridor, and a dense sound of footsteps reached his ears.

"What do you mean?" Zhang Wei immediately became vigilant.

"A large number of monsters are rushing here, not just this one." Lin Qi turned around, his gaze sweeping over the three teammates who were scared silly. "You guys retreat to that narrow opening from just now. Zhang Wei, take them and go."

"Brother Qi, what about you?" Zhang Wei said anxiously.

"I'll go over once I've dealt with this bug," Lin Qi said as he unbuttoned the collar of his black sportswear. "If you stay here, you'll only get in my way."

"But its defense..." Chen Huo hadn't finished his sentence before being dragged away by Zhang Wei.

"Listen to Brother Qi, retreat!"

The three of them ran toward the rear in a sorry state.

The Stone Beetle let out a low roar; it had sensed the hostility of the human in front of it.

Its huge rock forelimbs were raised high, aiming at Lin Qi's position and smashing down fiercely.

The force blasted a deep pit directly into the ground.

Lin Qi did not choose to dodge.

His Qi and blood flowed rapidly within his body, and his body temperature climbed quickly to forty degrees.

His muscle fibers twisted tightly together, like steel wires ready to be released.

He wanted to try if his newly formed Flesh Refining Realm, combined with Dark Force, could shatter this rock shell.

The Stone Beetle raised its forelimbs again, its body tilting forward, and let out a deafening roar.

Lin Qi's feet locked firmly onto the ground.

His spine was like a fully drawn bow, his right fist pulled back to his waist.

"Open."

The moment before the Stone Beetle smashed down, Lin Qi's body lunged forward slightly.

His fist and the huge rock shell met.

Exert force.

"Thud."

It wasn't a violent impact sound, but a muffled, thunder-like vibration.

The Stone Beetle's massive body actually froze in mid-air under this punch.

The entire monster's body was vibrating at a high frequency.

"What is he doing?" Ying Wan, hiding in the distance, felt his pupils constrict.

He saw that the thick rock shell was intact, not even leaving a white mark.

But the Stone Beetle seemed to suffer fatal agony, raising its head and letting out a shrill scream.
