63: Chapter 63 A Midnight Visit: Gifts or Death?

The beams from high-powered flashlights danced wildly around the living room, so bright that they forced eyes shut.

Lin Qi raised a hand to block the light, his gaze piercing through the gaps between his fingers to clearly see the group at the door.

The leader had thick gauze wrapped around his neck, his face pale yet flushed with a sickly redness; it was none other than Examiner Wang Su, who had just been suspended for reflection earlier that day.

Behind him stood two members of the Law Enforcement Team in black uniforms, with "Disciplinary Inspection" badges pinned to their chests.

"Instructor Wang." Lin Qi lowered his hand, his tone flat. "Tearing down a student's dormitory door in the middle of the night—is this a new rule of Longya Academy?"

Wang Su let out a cold laugh, rattling a piece of paper in his hand.

"Cut the crap. Someone reported that you used the prohibited 'Berserk Potion' during the freshman assessment, causing the data anomalies. This is a search warrant; the Law Enforcement Team is just performing official duties."

Lin Qi glanced at the paper; it bore the red seal of the Academic Affairs Office.

"The whistleblower was you, wasn't it?" Lin Qi asked.

"Regardless of who it was, if we find contraband, you can expect to be expelled." Wang Su waved his hand. "Search!"

The two Law Enforcement Team members looked at each other, appearing somewhat hesitant.

After all, this was a Heaven-grade Villa; those living here were subjects of top-tier attention.

"What are you standing around for? I'll take responsibility if anything happens!" Wang Su roared.

Only then did the two steel themselves and walk into the house, beginning to ransack the place.

Lin Qi didn't stop them; he even took two steps to the side, leaning against the wall to watch.

The living room was quickly turned into a mess.

The old-fashioned pressure cooker was overturned on the floor, and the dark red medicinal residue remaining inside spilled out, emitting a strong scent of traditional medicine.

"What is this?" one of the enforcement members asked, pinching his nose.

"Herbs for bathing," Lin Qi replied casually. "Why, is this against the rules too?"

"Only poor ghosts who can't afford Genetic Serums would use such primitive Body Refining recipes." Wang Su walked over and kicked the residue on the ground with his toe, his face full of disdain. "Is this your secret? Relying on boiling grass roots and tree bark?"

Lin Qi ignored him, his gaze remaining locked on Wang Su's right hand.

Wang Su's right hand had been tucked inside his wide sleeve, unnaturally tense.

"Search the bedroom," Wang Su commanded. "Under the bed, in the closet—don't miss a single spot."

The two enforcement members entered the bedroom.

Wang Su did not follow them in; instead, he stood at the entrance of the hallway leading from the living room to the bedroom, his back to Lin Qi.

His right hand slowly slid out of his sleeve.

It was a glass vial only the size of a thumb, containing a purple liquid that shimmered with an eerie luster under the dim light.

A high-concentration Berserk Potion.

As long as this thing appeared under Lin Qi's bed, even if Lin Qi had mouths all over his body, he wouldn't be able to explain it away.

Wang Su glanced back, confirming that Lin Qi was still standing by the living room wall, at least five meters away from him.

This distance was enough.

With a flick of his wrist, he prepared to slide the vial across the floor and under the bedroom bed.

In that very second...

A gust of wind swept past.

There were no footsteps, no warning.

Wang Su only felt a blur before his eyes, and the figure that had been five meters away abruptly appeared right in front of him.

The hand that had just been about to throw the vial was gripped tightly by someone.

Lin Qi's fingers were like iron pincers, clamped onto Wang Su's pulse point.

"Instructor Wang." Lin Qi's voice was inches away, carrying a hint of playfulness. "It's late at night; have you come to give me a meeting gift?"

Wang Su's pupils shrank violently.

How could he be so fast?

This kid's speed was twice as fast as it had been during the assessment!

"Let go!" Wang Su barked, attempting to pull his hand back.

It didn't budge an inch.

Lin Qi's fingers were even slowly tightening, the pressure on the nerves causing half of Wang Su's arm to go numb.

"This bottle of purple water looks quite familiar." Lin Qi stared at the vial. "The Berserk Potion on the market seems to be this color, costing fifty thousand yuan a pop. Instructor Wang is truly generous."

"What nonsense are you talking! This is... this is my own medicine!" Wang Su's face flushed red, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.

"If it's your own medicine, why were you trying to throw it under my bed?"

"You're framing me!"

Wang Su grew desperate.

When it came to framing someone, the key was to be fast, accurate, and ruthless; once caught in the act, it would all be over.

He suddenly raised his left hand, a ball of blinding fire condensing in his palm.

Second-tier magic: Bursting Fireball.

At such a close distance, if it hit a person, they would lose a layer of skin even if they didn't die.

"I gave you a chance, but you refused it!" Wang Su roared, thrusting the fireball toward Lin Qi's chest.

Lin Qi's eyes turned cold.

Since you won't follow the rules, then don't blame me for being unscrupulous.

He didn't dodge the fireball; instead, he gripped Wang Su's right wrist and gave it a violent shake.

This shake utilized the Hidden Force he had just comprehended.

The power was no longer a straightforward impact but traveled along the bones like a wave, exploding at the joints.

Crack!

A crisp sound of bone dislocation rang out.

Before Wang Su's scream could escape his mouth, his right wrist was already bent at a grotesque ninety-degree angle.

The intense pain caused the magic in his left hand to instantly dissipate, sparks scattering all over the floor.

He couldn't hold onto the purple vial either, and it slipped from his hand.

Clink.

Lin Qi followed through with a push; Wang Su stumbled back, his heel landing right on the vial that had hit the floor.

The glass shattered.

The purple medicinal liquid flowed across the floor, rapidly evaporating into a pungent, cloying scent.

At that moment, the two enforcement members in the bedroom rushed out upon hearing the commotion.

Seeing this scene, both were stunned.

The shattered vial on the floor, the scent permeating the air, and Wang Su's clearly dislocated wrist.

As veterans of the Law Enforcement Team, they understood the situation in a single glance.

This wasn't a search; it was clearly a failed framing attempt that had backfired spectacularly.

"Aaaah—!"

Clutching his right hand, his features twisted in pain, Wang Su hissed at Lin Qi: "You dare to attack an instructor! I'll have you expelled! I'll send you to prison!"

Lin Qi clapped his hands and pulled the Anti-Surveillance Detector from his pocket, waving it.

"Instructor Wang, don't get excited. Although there's no surveillance in this room, I have a voice recorder that's been on this whole time."

In reality, it was a detector and had no recording function at all.

But Wang Su didn't know that.

Upon hearing the words "voice recorder," Wang Su's face instantly turned deathly pale.

"You... you're bluffing me?"

"Whether I'm bluffing or not, won't we know once we take this spilled liquid for testing?" Lin Qi pointed at the floor. "There should only be your fingerprints on it, not mine."

The two enforcement members looked at each other and instinctively took a step back, wanting no part of this muddy water.

Wang Su gritted his teeth, his eyes filled with venomous resentment.

He hadn't expected that a green kid who had just entered the academy would have such deep schemes and strike so ruthlessly.

That bone-dislocating move was clean and decisive—not a move a student should be able to perform.

"Good... very good." Wang Su endured the intense pain, squeezing the words through his teeth. "Lin Qi, just you wait. In Longya, once you've offended an instructor, let's see how you'll survive!"

"Whether he survives or not isn't for you to decide."

An aged voice suddenly drifted in from outside the door.

The voice wasn't loud, yet it carried a heart-palpitating pressure.

At the violently broken entrance, an old man wearing grey cloth clothes had appeared at some unknown point.

Elder Mo held a thermos in his hand, looking at the mess in the room with sleepy eyes.

"What's all the noise in the middle of the night?" Elder Mo walked in slowly, his gaze sweeping over the two enforcement members. "Who gave you the nerve to touch my student?"
