124: Chapter 124 Spatial Magic Items Within Reach

After giving the Owl to Leon and the others, Zhang Mu returned to the hotel and lay on the large bed, pondering the test content.

The specific passing conditions weren't determined by any single factor—IQ, talent, character, and so on.

Diversification was the only way to reveal Hogwarts' unfathomable depth.

He had a general plan, but it needed some refinement.

Next was the second reason for coming abroad: obtaining powerful firearms.

Zhang Mu scratched his head in some frustration.

For this, he didn't plan to look for private arms dealers or "Black Gloves."

Even if they had powerful weapons, the ultimate right to sell them remained with the masters behind them.

Real major arms dealers were out in the open; there was no need to spend time searching for them.

The problem lay in how to reach a deal with them.

The opponents for this treasure grab wouldn't be small fries like those in Bala City. There would be plenty of high-level Professionals; Magisters or Magisters, or even higher-level Professionals might arrive.

Ordinary firearms would be useless.

So he needed terrifying weapons, like thermobaric bombs, which were hailed as the pinnacle of conventional weaponry.

But high-explosive weapons of this level generally didn't circulate between private individuals; they were traded between nations.

If Zhang Mu approached them in his own name, they basically wouldn't sell, and might even turn around and arrest him on various charges.

This trouble had a solution.

He just needed to find an Eagle Sauce military base, sneak in using the Shadow Technique, and then load things into his inventory.

What Zhang Mu was conflicted about was whether or not to do it.

Once the demon of desire was released from the cage of the heart, it could never be put back.

Having grown accustomed to doing whatever he wanted without anyone being able to restrain him, Zhang Mu felt that eventually, he might come to view humans on both Blue Star and the Other World as ants that could be stepped on at will.

Just thinking about it made him shudder.

However, in two months, the Sealing Magic Array would completely shut down.

Although he had promoted to Apprentice Magician in just a few months and his true strength was that of a Beginner Magician, which was already very fast, it was far from enough when facing Professionals who had lived for hundreds or thousands of years.

Therefore, he had to prepare some weapons.

"Tsk, annoying."

After thinking hard for a long time, the undecided Zhang Mu summoned a portal to the Other World, took out his key, and stepped into the Magic Array.

He had been gone for half a month. The village built halfway up the mountain hadn't changed much, except that the green wheat seedlings planted when he first arrived had grown and turned golden.

Growing this fast, it seemed the Song of the Forest had already been used.

With his hands behind his back, Zhang Mu followed the small path carved into the mountainside and climbed to the summit.

"Back so soon?" Mihe, who was busy repairing a hoe while sitting at a stone table in the courtyard, looked up.

When he left, Zhang Mu had said the return date was uncertain; Mihe had thought it would be a long time, which was why he asked.

"Mm." Nodding, Zhang Mu sat in the wooden chair to his right. "Has it been lively near the Silent Forest lately?"

"No."

Mihe leaned the repaired hoe against the edge of the table. "Adventurer Groups with strength know that no one can enter the treasure site before the light of the Sealing Magic Array dims, so they won't rush here this early.

Adventurer Groups that don't understand this simply don't have the ability to enter the Silent Forest, not even the outskirts."

"I see." Zhang Mu didn't talk to him about his troubles, looking up at the crescent moon in the sky. "I heard a Senior mention something.

The essential materials for the Sealing Magic Array are extremely rare and could empty the treasury of a small Principality. Is that true?"

"Yes, it's even more serious than that." Mihe rested his hands on his knees. "A Kingdom might be able to provide enough materials after a few years of financial pain.

But for a Principality, even selling itself might not be enough."

Surprised, Zhang Mu raised an eyebrow and asked, "That ridiculous?

Then what kind of treasures are inside?"

"Generally, for this kind of thing buried by humans..."

After a moment of silence, he said, "There are basically no magic books. Even if the owner of the treasure was an idiot and actually stuffed magic books inside,

after over a hundred years, the magical script would have definitely disappeared.

At most, some Light-attribute magic books might remain, but Light-attribute magicians are rare to begin with, and most join the Church, so they aren't short of magic books.

So, I think most of the collection consists of materials from various Magical Beasts and plants, as well as some magic weapons, jewelry, and magic items with special effects."

Magic items with special effects?

Zhang Mu's eyes lit up. "Will there be space-type magic items?"

"Of course."

The answer was decisive and his tone very certain, which confused Zhang Mu. "Mr. Mi He, you're so sure?"

"Otherwise, where would all those materials and magic items be placed? Dig a hole in the ground and bury them?"

"True." He rubbed the back of his head. "That means the treasure site itself is the most valuable treasure."

"Hardly." Mihe shook his head. "There are two types of space-type magic items. One is for simple storage and cannot hold living things.

The other type is 'World'."

"World?"

"Yes. Space-type magic items that can accommodate humans and other living beings are collectively known as 'Worlds' on the Saul Continent.

Regardless of the type, they can only be used for storage and provide no help in improving a Professional's strength. How could they be more precious than piles of magic items?"

"The one in the Silent Forest..."

"We'll only know for sure once the Sealing Magic Array closes and we see it with our own eyes."

"But I think," he stroked his chin, "it should be a 'World'.

After all, it's a treasure buried by the strongest Magic Family of the former First Empire. It would be quite lacking in style for them to use an ordinary space item as a treasure site."

"Thank you very much, Mr. Mi He." Zhang Mu almost jumped up, hurrying toward the stone stairs down the mountain. "I have something to do; I need to head to Gur City again."

"Leaving again?

Also, did you go back to your own house?"

"No, why?"

"Yesterday, Lia aggressively questioned me about why she hadn't seen you for so long and if I had murdered you.

Why don't you go explain on your way?"

"Okay."

He hurried into his house and caught the Little Cat Girl who lunged at him with open arms.

He gave her head a good rub, then planted a firm kiss on her tender cheek. "Don't worry, no one on the Saul Continent can hurt me."

"Lia knows!" She happily wrapped her arms around Zhang Mu's neck, twisting her head to rub against the large hand stroking her. "Brother Mu has Lia's lucky stone, so nothing will happen!"

"Ah, right." She looked up. "When you were in Kas Town, did Lia's lucky stone help Brother Mu?"

After a moment of daze, Zhang Mu remembered the crystal gem in his inventory.

Setting the Little Cat Girl on the ground, he reached into his Storage Pouch, pulled out the crystal, and handed it over. "It helped me a lot.

See? I've been keeping it safe."

Lia took it with both hands, nuzzling the familiar gem against her cheek for a moment with nostalgia before pressing it back into Zhang Mu's hand.

"You don't want it?" he asked in confusion, looking at the crystal in his palm.

"Lia is very safe here. Brother Mu needs it more when he's out."

Clenching his fingers into a fist and feeling the sharp edges of the crystal, he smiled lightly. "I'll make sure to keep it with me."

After saying that, he gave a few more instructions and turned to leave.

In the empty house, Lia sat back at the wooden table, resting her cheek on her crossed arms, her fair little legs swinging back and forth.

Her bright eyes were fixed on the door Zhang Mu had just walked through, thinking to herself that next time Brother Mu came back, she would greet him even faster than this time.
