165: Chapter 163 The Troubles of the Four-Person Group

Toby's tone when promising Her Majesty was full of confidence, and the voices of Leon and Klaisi clamoring to help were also very loud.

Misha, on the other hand, didn't say anything.

It was just that during the exam process over the past few days, Toby had helped her a lot and taken great care of her, so she naturally wanted to contribute.

But saying it was one thing; when it came to actually putting it into practice, the group looked at each other in bewilderment.

MI6.

The office of the Superpower Bureau.

For some unknown reason, the Director hadn't moved to the new office location provided by the Queen and still remained here.

At this moment, Ryan wasn't here; it was said that there might be a few more Hogwarts Interview Letters hidden somewhere, and he was driving all over London looking for them.

Toby then brought over three rolling chairs and led the three of them to form a circle around his workstation.

They discussed back and forth for several hours, and even as they watched the dark curtain of night spread across the horizon, they still hadn't come up with any effective results.

Leon scratched his head irritably: "Klaisi and I beat up a high school teacher who used to bully us; he was our biggest psychological trauma.

Uh, Toby, when you were little..."

"My parents were great, my Classmates and teachers were great too, and I didn't have any of those unpleasant experiences."

"Then do you have any other regrets, or something you're afraid of?"

"Hmm... I seem to have everything I want, oh, except for successfully getting the Interview Letter."

Klaisi shrugged: "That's the result; what we need now is the process.

Speaking of which..."

He looked at Misha, who was curled up in the chair with her legs tucked in: "How did you pass?"

"Misha's experience isn't something we can replicate," Toby, who had accompanied the young girl throughout the city, said with a shake of his head. "She wanted to earn a payment for herself,"

"And without her mother knowing, personally buy a gift to give to her mother on her birthday.

Because of her age, she couldn't work, so I disguised myself as her guardian and helped out a little.

And her luck was good; yesterday just happened to be her mother's birthday."

Hearing this, Klaisi was very surprised: "Is it that simple?

Just need to work for a few days?"

"Idiot." Leon slapped the back of his head. "How old is she this year?

For her, working alone without her mother knowing is an impossible feat; no one would have the guts to hire child labor, as that's a violation of the law."

As he spoke, Leon suddenly thought of something and murmured while pinching his chin: "Impossible?

Hey! Toby, is there anything you can't do now but desperately desire?"

Probably understanding his meaning, Toby's brow furrowed: "Absolutely impossible and desired...

My first love passed away, I wish..."

"Even a magician can't, uh, maybe Hogwarts has legendary Necromancy?

But... making a skeleton move doesn't count as resurrection, right?"

Toby was a bit speechless: "She had a burial at sea; do you want me to go to the ocean to collect her ashes?

And her father is a retired Royal Guard; if I dared to do that, he would definitely blow my head off with a single shot."

"Then what should we do? Is there anything else?"

Leaning back against the chair, Toby tilted his head back and looked up blankly at the ceiling: "Anything else..."

Numerous images quickly flashed through his mind, all the regrets from as far back as he could remember until now.

The sneakers he wanted to buy in elementary school were discontinued; the manufacturer of the snacks he liked to eat had already gone bankrupt.

But these were all in the past; he didn't want them anymore.

After all, growth never stops; it's normal for desires and preferences to change.

As time passed, his frown deepened until it could almost crush a fly.

After a long time, he finally sighed and gave up thinking: "I can't think of anything."

After thinking for a long time, Toby really couldn't think of anyone or anything he was afraid of in his past or current daily life.

Leon and Klaisi also lowered their heads, their moods becoming somber.

They had known Toby for a while and had quite a bit of contact with each other; both felt he was a very good friend.

Watching the dim yellow lights light up both sides of the asphalt road in the night outside the window, they were anxious but couldn't offer any help.

Misha blinked her big eyes and looked left and right: "Uncle Toby has something he's afraid of."

This took everyone by surprise. Toby asked in shock: "I do?"

Searching every corner of his brain, he still couldn't find anything he feared.

Misha nodded: "While working these past few days, I noticed Uncle Toby always subconsciously avoids high places."

"And he never goes near the second-floor balcony or the edge of the rooftop terrace."

"Fear of heights?" Leon stood up. "Her Majesty mentioned that you've undergone specialized training with the Royal Guards."

"Didn't you have skydiving or something like that?"

"Of course there was!" Toby's face turned serious. "My skydiving record was in the top three among the recruits of the same period."

Leon didn't quite understand, but he didn't think Misha would tell a pointless lie.

After pondering for a moment, he suddenly looked up: "Pardon me for asking, but how many years ago was that?"

"Nineteen."

"This year you are..."

"Thirty-seven."

"Eighteen years?!"

Klaisi jumped up: "Please, are you sure nothing happened over these years that could have changed your personality?"

"No, no, no." Toby waved his hands. "I'm definitely not afraid of heights."

"Let's try it!" Leon dragged him to the floor-to-ceiling window. "Look down."

A confident Toby pushed open the window and lowered his head, and then... his eyelids instinctively squeezed shut.

Leon and the following Klaisi saw this: "Heavens!"

"You're actually really afraid of heights?!"

Startled by the shout, Toby dazedly took a few steps back and opened his eyes: "How... how could this be..."

"Seven o'clock." Leon looked at his phone. "There are only five hours left; there's no time to find the reason."

"Let's go Bungee jumping!"

"But..." Toby, having come to his senses, muttered to himself, "At this time, all Bungee jumping venues have closed."

"Find the Director!"

Leon was not discouraged and rushed into the Director's room: "Director, Toby needs your support!"

Startled by the shout, the Director sitting behind the desk hurriedly stuffed an unidentified magazine into a drawer: "What happened?!"

"Toby!"

"We have a lead on his assessment!"

"What is it?"

"Fear of heights. Mr. Toby is afraid of heights; we need a place where he can bungee jump!"

"Won't skydiving work?" the Director asked in confusion.

"Of course it will!"

"That's simple." The Director, whose power was not what it used to be, picked up the phone on the desk. "A helicopter and a set of skydiving equipment."

"A coach?"

The Director looked at Toby, who had followed them in.

After a few seconds of silence, Toby's eyes fixed as he shook his head.

"No need, just what I said."

"Yes, MI6, immediately."

Clicking the phone back into place, the Director looked at Toby: "Fear of heights?"

"Is this some kind of twisted joke for the new century?"

He had personally recruited Toby into the Superpower Bureau, so he had naturally reviewed his resume; he knew exactly what kind of person Toby was.

How could it possibly be his turn to be afraid of heights?

But seeing his pale face as he lowered his head in silence, the Director realized it probably wasn't a joke, but a real thing.

Toby was not in a good mood, and the others weren't in the mood for small talk either, so they waited quietly in the office, either sitting or standing.

About an hour later, the loud roar of propellers came from outside the window.
