269: Heldon's decision

The meeting concluded.

Helden’s collapse once again brought the world into a brief period of peace.

Finally, Helden left, walking through a lush, green forest filled with the chirping of birds and the fragrance of flowers.

Following him was Hara, the Vice-Pontiff of the Earth Goddess Church.

Hara was an ugly, pink octopus, seven or eight meters tall.

His fish-like head had no eyebrows or ears, but a pair of large eyeballs wore massive spectacles, and a tiny mouth occasionally blew bubbles.

He moved with four viscous tentacles, while the other four were busy at work.

One held a notebook, one typed on a keyboard, one held a piece of yellow paper, and one held a pen, writing.

Helden glanced at the content on the yellow paper.

“In the 995th year of the Qi Resurgence Era, the great Alien Race King, His Majesty Helden, pounded the King of Nile to death at the Round Table Conference, his invincible power once again shocking the world, the King’s majesty remains unquestionable!”

“Picture.”

“Insight: The King is still invincible!”

Helden frowned slightly and said, “Don’t record this kind of content in the diary from now on.”

“What should be written in the diary are things that are very important to oneself.”

Hara used a tentacle to push up his spectacles, chuckled, and said, “The Pontiff’s matters are the most important matters to Hara!”

His voice was a bit dull, always making people feel foolish.

Many people in the Earth Goddess Church were puzzled as to why such a fellow could become the Vice-Pontiff.

It wasn't until someone witnessed Hara’s flattery skills that they were completely convinced.

In this world, no superior could escape the truth of 'flattery smells so good'!

It seems the Alien Race King is no exception!

Suddenly, Helden asked, “How many years have you followed me?”

“Reporting, Pontiff, Hara has followed the King for 289 years, 8 months, 28 days, thirty-nine minutes…”

“Enough.” Helden shook his head and said, “Do you want to be the Pontiff?”

Upon hearing this, Hara instantly looked terrified and said, “King! Don’t scare me!”

Helden frowned slightly and said, “Why are you so agitated?”

Hara spoke very quickly, his thoughts exceptionally clear: “Hara knows very well that he can never win over the masses; only you, King, can be the Pontiff of the Earth Goddess Church, only you can convince billions of believers!”

“There is only one possibility for Hara to become the Pontiff, and that is if you, King, die in battle, and your dying wish chooses me as the Pontiff.”

Helden shook his head expressionlessly and said, “You’re thinking too much.”

“I just want to be alone for a while. During this time, you will manage the church.”

“From today onwards, your every word represents this King’s will.”

A huge surprise fell upon Hara, but he didn't feel happy; he just felt something was off. His super brain spun wildly, yet he couldn't figure out what the King in front of him truly intended.

At this moment, Helden spoke again, “Oh, how is the Pastor doing?”

“He still firmly stands with the Human Race,” Hara quickly replied.

“He probably won’t change his mind.”

“Then is there any way to prevent him from attacking the Alien Race after the war begins?” Helden frowned.

If the strongest space-type user completely unleashed himself, there would be few people in the world who could stop him from killing; the young Demon King Group would have nowhere to escape in front of him.

Hara thought for a moment and then said, “Yes, but the key lies with two people.”

“One is you, and one is Xiao Fan!”

Helden pondered for a moment, then nodded and said, “Good, I understand.”

Finally, he casually threw out a token and said indifferently, “Keep it safe.”

“For the next few years, manage the church well. If you encounter problems you can’t handle, you can contact me anytime.”

“Yes, sir!”

Hara and his eight tentacles saluted Helden, though Helden didn't even look, just walked straight ahead with his back to him.

But it wasn't until Helden completely disappeared from Hara’s sight that Hara dared to turn around.

He stared blankly at the token in his hand, the image of that retreating figure echoing in his mind.

For some reason, he had an ominous premonition.

At this moment.

Helden returned to his territory.

It was a deep green primeval forest, overgrown with giant trees, covering an area as large as half of Shanhai Pass, yet there wasn't a single sentient being with normal intelligence inside.

Only he was there, along with the chirping of insects and birds.

Why would someone living alone need such a large plot of land?

For the King’s prestige?

For Cultivation?

It’s also possible it was to conceal something.

Helden paid no attention to the lush, vibrant scenery on either side; his steps were steady, and his destination was clear.

After traversing through forests and mountain paths, an old, dilapidated cabin appeared before his eyes.

The house had two stories, built on a towering tree.

The first floor's ceiling was only two meters high; Helden even had to bend over to walk inside.

Inside the house, a pile of miscellaneous items lay scattered haphazardly.

Unworn small clothes were thrown into a dusty washbasin, the old television set couldn't be turned on, the music box beside it seemed to have run out of power, and a pile of childish, worn-out building blocks was stacked in a beautiful corner.

There was nothing valuable in this house; it even made one feel as if they had returned to the war-torn era centuries ago.

The Alien Race King should have no connection with such a small cabin.

But at this moment, as he walked bent over in the living room, he seemed to completely blend into this Small World.

When he passed by the doorway of a faintly fragrant bedroom, he actually tiptoed, not daring to make a sound, like a child sneaking to play video games while his parents slept.

It wasn't until he passed through the living room and arrived on the small balcony that he finally straightened his back and sat down on a round wooden chair that was too small for his backside.

Beside him was a small red square table, exuding a strong sense of cheapness.

There were only two things on it.

An old-fashioned gramophone.

A diary enveloped by the power of collapse.

At this moment, his finger gently pressed the power button of the gramophone.

“Click!”

The switch made a crisp sound.

The next second, the old-era music he loved most as a child began to play.

First, a moving prelude, then the vocals entered.

“Priests battling in the temple, whose past are the arrows, I love that scene in the crowd where you belong only to me…”

The melodious singing gradually calmed Helden in this moment.

The round wooden chair had no backrest, so he simply leaned against the wall.

He looked up, basking in the warm sun, daydreaming, watching green birds fly across the azure sky, his perpetually tense nerves completely relaxed.

In this world isolated from the outside, his mind and body were thoroughly at ease.

Finally.

He raised his palm, and the deep red Blood King Sword was held in his hand.

Then.

He softly murmured, “Collapse.”

The next second.

“Bang.”

The Blood King Sword shattered into countless pieces, turning into specks of red light.

Helden’s 'intent', which he had Cultivated for hundreds of years, completely collapsed and disintegrated at this moment!

Everything happened very calmly, but if any strong person had been standing nearby, they would have screamed in terror.

Has the Alien Race King gone mad!?

Why did he directly collapse his own incredibly powerful intent?

Destroying his own power?

Self-mutilation?

But suddenly.

Helden murmured again, “Reconstruct.”

All the crimson light particles rapidly converged back to his fingertips.

Only this time, what reconstructed was no longer the Blood King Sword, but a crimson fire, though it was very faint, and its color was clearly three shades lighter than Xiao Fan’s fire.

He quietly looked at the Fire of Resistance on his fingertip, his face devoid of any expression, neither joy nor excitement, but rather deep in thought.

Suddenly.

He solemnly picked up the heavy diary beside him and turned to the last page.

The yellow paper recorded a conversation.

“No matter how profound a secondary fire is, it will be completely suppressed when facing a primary fire.”

“Then if the primary fire is extinguished, will the secondary fire become the primary fire?”

“I don’t know.”

“Is the Fire of Resistance not your masterpiece?”

“No, it’s the will of an old acquaintance.”

“If… I mean if, I truly choose to extinguish the primary fire, and find a way for my secondary fire to become the primary fire, will you blame me?”

“Since I dare to tell you this, I naturally believe you will make the correct choice, and what’s interesting is that everyone’s definition of 'correct' is different. Whatever you believe is correct, you do; anyone can be a spark of resistance.”

Helden stared blankly at the diary in his hand, this conversation repeating infinitely in his mind.

At this moment, a dark cloud suddenly drifted over, blocking all sunlight. Helden sat in the shadows, his deep eyes completely merging with the darkness.

He lowered his head, picked up a pen, and wrote his answer in this diary.

Finally, he closed the book and placed it back on the table.

He contacted Hara.

“Respected King! What are your commands!?” Hara’s voice was full of vigor and excitement.

But Helden’s tone was somewhat hoarse and deep: “Has Apollo already initially grasped that power?”

“Reporting, Pontiff, not only Apollo, but Lilith and Zeus, these three have all initially grasped that power.”

Helden continued, “Order the Demon King Group: when the time comes, Apollo’s team and Kuang Xing’s team will jointly deal with Xiao Fan’s squad.”

“No need to capture alive, kill them all.”

Hara was startled and said, “This… it’s only the first confrontation, surely it’s not that serious…”

“And, the Pastor’s side…”

“I’ll handle that. Also, have Dick and Bru lead the teams.”

“Have those two lead the teams? Your Majesty, this… people might really die, and deaths could trigger a war!” Hara’s voice was filled with panic.

Helden remained expressionless, looking up at the oppressive dark clouds, and said indifferently, “You only need to obey.”
