324: The Fire of Life

Late at night, on Shanhai Pass.

A bright white saber light flickered, dazzling.

On the lighthouse, the giant fireball was cut in half by this one strike.

Many soldiers looked up curiously; they were already used to being illuminated by the firelight in the middle of the night, so they were quite unaccustomed to the sudden lack of light.

From the fireball, a disheveled, weary young woman landed steadily in the pavilion on the lighthouse.

Jiang Shenyi sighed and said, “Did the Nirvana fail?”

For some reason, upon hearing this aged voice,

before the young woman even opened her eyes, tears flowed uncontrollably, becoming increasingly torrential.

Tear after tear glistened in the dark night, and a hint of confusion appeared on Jiang Shenyi’s aged face.

Why was she crying?

Was she unable to bear the blow of a failed Nirvana?

After a long while, the young woman’s emotions gradually stabilized, and then she casually wiped her cheeks with her fiery Phoenix robe.

After wiping away her tears, she slowly opened her eyes; her black pupils no longer held any pride, but rather a long-lasting calm and gentleness.

This surprised Jiang Shenyi a little.

Eyes don’t lie.

“What’s wrong?” Jiang Shenyi couldn’t help but ask.

Xi He quietly looked at the elder who was over six hundred years older than her, and couldn’t help but softly say,

“So many years… you’ve worked hard.”

These words didn't sound much like what a Junior should say to an elder.

But Jiang Shenyi inexplicably felt warmth; he didn’t know what exactly had happened inside the fireball.

However, it seemed everything was developing in a good direction.

That was enough.

Jiang Shenyi returned a smile and said, “You’ve been inside for nearly two months. Ying Zheng and the others have already come out of seclusion. Go and see them quickly.”

Xi He nodded and walked towards Jiang Shenyi. When she reached his side, she suddenly stopped, her lips moving slightly.

“I…”

She seemed to hesitate to speak.

Jiang Shenyi’s brows furrowed slightly: “Say whatever you want to say.”

Suddenly, Xi He sharply turned her head, her eyes fixed on the Great General, and she said firmly, “I also want to see that world, that world where every life has the right to choose its own path!”

A strong wind blew Xi He’s long hair, wildly slapping her face, but the light flickering in her pupils was something no object could obscure!

At this moment, Jiang Shenyi was a little dazed, but after only a second, he reacted and roughly guessed what Xi He had experienced.

He smiled, feeling a little joyful, not just because of Xi He’s words!

But also because he saw a true pride deep within Xi He’s eyes.

She would give her all for the words she had just spoken, facing death nine times without regret!

The two no longer exchanged any other words. The Great General turned and drank the yellow wine in his hand, looking at the round bright moon in the sky, a smile spreading across his weathered old face.

Xi He had also slid down from the lighthouse, her thoughts unceasing as she descended.

It turned out that the Great General’s continued willingness to fight for the Human Race until his dying breath was not solely for the sake of protecting the Human Race.

No one knew that his stance was not above the Human Race.

He stood on the side of Life!

He killed enemies not just for the Human Race, but also to create that ideal world.

Only when all the greedy power-holders of the foreign races were dead would he consider his first step successful.

Her thoughts were the same.

Her stance was not entirely on the side of the Human Race.

She also stood with Jiang Shenyi, with Xiao Fan, with Ying Zheng, and with Life.

These important people and matters were her stance!

She also gradually understood why the Human Race later established such strong individual heroism, where a Genius from the Super God Class would be crowned a hero even before entering the fray.

They would be held in people's hands, cheered, celebrated, and revered!

It was all because the Federation of that year had disappointed many hearts… But the reason the Human Race could come this far was because they never made the same mistake twice!

The Federation, as it developed to today, still had many systems that young people couldn’t understand, but that was because those young people didn’t know that these seemingly unreasonable systems were actually all for the purpose of correcting certain irreversible mistakes from back then!

In the air, Xi He looked back at the Human Race’s land, a faint smile on her face.

From the Great General’s memories, she understood how the Human Race had come step by step.

Therefore, this vast land in her eyes was no longer just simple mountains and rivers, but a series of exciting and moving stories.

Xi He also realized that her first eighteen years had been somewhat wasted.

This world was grand and brilliant, and she wanted to be a part of it.

Let Xi He’s wonderful story begin today.

But before that, she needed to make amends for past mistakes.

Thinking of this, Xi He was already standing at the gate of Xiao Fan’s house, gently pressing the doorbell.

The members of the Yuanhuang Squad looked at the figure standing outside the door, utterly confused.

Lin Xianhuo even furrowed her brows slightly, picking up her saber and walking out.

Xiao Fan followed behind her, also wanting to see what Xi He intended to do.

At the gate.

Xi He said with a brilliant smile, “Immortal Fire…”

Her voice was even somewhat sweet, completely disarming Lin Xianhuo.

Her delicate body trembled, and she looked at Xiao Fan behind her with a bewildered expression, as if asking, “What should I do?”

The old saying goes, one doesn’t hit a smiling face.

Wasn't Xi He the person who never smiled?

What did it mean for her to suddenly stand before her with a smiling face, affectionately calling her by name?

Was this a sign of the end of the world?

Xiao Fan also frowned; his Kong Wu Realm clearly perceived her state and emotions.

There was absolutely no resemblance to the former Xi He.

They say it’s easier to change rivers and mountains than one’s nature, and in his heart, Xi He was one of the people whose personality he believed could absolutely never change.

Was she possessed?

“Are you alright?” Xiao Fan asked with a frown.

Xi He smiled; she didn’t know how to explain.

Should she say that she was actually sixty years old?

Suddenly, Xi He looked at Xiao Fan and said earnestly, “I came to apologize to you.”

“No need.” Xiao Fan shook his head and said, “That kind of thing is in the past, it doesn’t matter.”

“Now that the Demon King Group has entered the fray, instead of apologizing to me, you should focus on how to deal with them.”

“No.” Xi He shook her head and said, “Not just an apology, I also want to offer compensation.”

“Compensation?” Xiao Fan frowned.

Xi He smiled mysteriously and said, “The only unique gift in this world that only I can offer!”

“And, it’s one of a kind!”

This greatly piqued Xiao Fan’s curiosity.

With that, Xi He suddenly walked in front of Xiao Fan, gently placing her fingertip on Xiao Fan’s chest.

Lin Xianhuo, beside them, frowned deeply and said, “Don’t get handsy!”

Xi He gave an awkward smile and said, “It’ll be quick.”

As her words fell.

A large red flame surged from her fingertip, rapidly entering Xiao Fan’s body.

Xiao Fan’s body trembled, and he said, “This… what is this!?”

He was extremely shocked inside, because from the cluster of flames Xi He had given him, he felt an unparalleled Life Force!

And that wasn’t a flame!

It was a Fire Seed!

A Myth-Grade Fire Seed!

A Myth-Grade Fire Seed with Life Force?

How could fire possess Life Force?

This was a power that had absolutely never appeared in the history of the Federation!

Xi He said lightly, “What is owed, is returned.”

“I almost killed you back then.”

“So now, I’m returning a life to you.”

“This Fire Seed, which I call Life Fire, contains immense Life Force and can assist you in battle.”

“Now, it’s yours!”

PS: From now on, it will be three updates. I’m slacking off!
