3: Chapter 3 Twin Maids!

The next day.

Sunlight filtered through the exquisite carved wooden window.

Illuminating the scene inside.

Inside the room,

the festive red robe Xiao Cui wore last night and her crumpled silk stockings were scattered about.

A small pink embroidered bellyband hung halfway off the edge of the bed.

One small embroidered shoe sat by the footstool, while the other had somehow found its way under the round table.

Ye Changge slowly opened his eyes.

The first thing he saw was Xiao Cui's pretty face; she was sound asleep, with a few faint tear stains still visible.

Last night, Ye Changge had initially intended to be gentle and protective.

But it turned out that once things started, it was like a runaway horse—completely unstoppable...

Looking at the tear stains under Xiao Cui's eyes, a surge of pity and guilt rose in his heart.

He wasn't a good man!

He carefully moved Xiao Cui's arm, which was draped over him.

Rising slowly, he threw on an outer robe and tiptoed to the Quiet Room next door.

After closing the door and shutting out the outside world, Ye Changge finally let out a long sigh of relief.

Last night, at the height of passion, did he hear a "ding" in his head?

He hadn't been able to think about it then, but now he remembered there seemed to be some kind of lucky draw?

He sat cross-legged, focused his mind, and thought, "System, I want to draw!"

As soon as the thought occurred, a dazzling golden roulette wheel appeared in his mind, glowing with brilliant colors and appearing quite miraculous.

There were seven sections on the large roulette wheel, each labeled.

Medicinal Pills, Magic Treasures, Others, Spirit Beasts, Cultivation Techniques, Exotic Treasures, and Skills.

In the center of the wheel was a line of clear, small text: "Offspring 0/1."

Ye Changge realized that completing his "first great leap forward" last night had granted him a draw.

If he wanted to draw again, he would have to wait for his first child to be born.

"It's free, so why not?"

Ye Changge rubbed his hands together and thought.

"Start the draw!"

With a "buzz," the golden wheel began to spin rapidly, the pointer sweeping across the various sections.

Five breaths later, the wheel slowed down and finally came to a complete stop, pointing at the "Skills" section.

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for obtaining the 'Second-Rank Talisman Master' Legacy!]

"Second-Rank Talisman Master!"

After receiving the information, Ye Changge was filled with both surprise and joy.

Although he couldn't cultivate immortality himself, he had been born into a cultivation Family and was well-acquainted with the lifestyle.

He also knew of the "Four Great Arts" among the hundred cultivation arts.

Alchemy, Forging, Talismans, and Arrays—the Talisman Master was one of these, holding a prestigious status.

And a Second-Rank Talisman Master was already a Great Master capable of drawing Talismans for Foundation Establishment Stage Cultivators!

In this Southern Border of the Zhao State, a Foundation Establishment Cultivator was already an Old Ancestor-level figure capable of founding a Family.

The Old Ancestor of the Ye Family of Biluo Lake was a Foundation Establishment Cultivator!

"System, I want the Legacy!" Ye Changge said excitedly.

Buzz!

A massive and complex stream of information instantly flooded into Ye Changge's mind.

"Complete Collection of First-Rank Talismans"

"Complete Collection of Second-Rank Talismans"

"Self-Cultivation of a Talisman Master"

"Three Years of Talisman Drawing and Five Years of Simulation"

...

Everything related to second-rank talismans was imprinted deep in his memory, like a sudden enlightenment.

A moment later, Ye Changkong opened his eyes excitedly.

However, he quickly calmed down.

"I have the Legacy, but to draw Talismans, I first need to be able to channel Spiritual Qi.

With this Ninth-Grade Spirit Root I just got... I still need to draw Qi into my body first.

Fortunately, Biluo Lake has a Spiritual Vein, so the Spiritual Qi is denser than outside. It shouldn't be too slow, right?"

He thought optimistically.

...

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, three months had passed.

Inside the Quiet Room, Ye Changge sat cross-legged with a furrowed brow, a very faint fluctuation of Spiritual Qi around him.

Suddenly, his body trembled, and a look of wild joy appeared on his face.

"I did it! I did it!"

Then his expression slumped, and he couldn't help but curse.

"Damn! This Ninth-Grade Spirit Root is practically the same as having none at all!

It took a full three months just to successfully draw the first wisp of Spiritual Qi into my body!"

Cursing aside, he was actually quite happy.

Regardless, he had finally taken the first step in cultivation and was no longer a pure Mortal.

Just then, the door to the Quiet Room was pushed open a crack, and Xiao Cui shyly peeked half her body inside.

After three months of continuous nourishment, she had lost much of her girlish innocence.

There was a hint of a mature woman's gentle charm between her brows, and her figure seemed a bit more voluptuous.

One of her hands unconsciously caressed her still-flat lower abdomen, her cheeks flushing slightly.

"Young Master... I, I think... I'm pregnant."

"Really!"

Upon hearing this, Ye Changge suddenly jumped up from the prayer mat.

He strode over to Xiao Cui in a few steps, grabbed her hands, his eyes shining brightly.

Three months of "hard work" hadn't gone to waste!

It seemed the first offspring required by the System was finally on its way!

He happily lowered his head and gave Xiao Cui a loud kiss on the cheek.

Xiao Cui's face grew even redder; although they had been husband and wife for three months, her innate shyness remained: "Young Master..."

"Yes, Xiao Cui."

Ye Changge intentionally pulled a serious face, then corrected her with a smile.

"How many times have I told you? Just call me husband.

Since you're pregnant, you need to be even more careful. Rest well and take care of the baby!

I'll go find my father right now and have him assign a clever maidservant to serve you specifically!"

"No, no need, Young Master... Husband, I... I can do it myself. I'm not that delicate."

Xiao Cui waved her hands hurriedly.

"That won't do!"

Ye Changge looked solemn.

"You are a top priority now and must be taken care of! Listen to me on this!"

Seeing Ye Changge's unquestionable concern, Xiao Cui's heart warmed.

Her eyes reddened again, filling with tears of emotion.

"Young... Husband, you are so good to me."

Xiao Cui really was a crybaby.

"There, there, don't cry. It's not good for your health."

Ye Changge coaxed her softly for a good while before finally making her smile through her tears.

After settling Xiao Cui, Ye Changge tidied his clothes.

Feeling refreshed, he stepped out and headed toward the Ye Family's Assembly Hall.

While passing through the corridor of the Family's inner courtyard, he ran straight into his foolish little brother, Ye Changsheng.

Eight-year-old, sturdy-looking Ye Changsheng was there.

He was holding a young woman in each hand, grinning so widely his eyes were nearly closed.

To Ye Changge's slight shock, the two women were quite pretty, around seventeen or eighteen years old.

Their appearances were eighty to ninety percent similar, and they wore identical pale pink dresses.

They looked as if they had been cast from the same mold.

They were actually a pair of twins!

At this moment, the twin maidservants had subtle expressions.

Their gazes toward Ye Changge held a hint of curiosity.

Clearly, his younger brother had frequently boasted about his elder brother's exploits to them.

Seeing Ye Changge, Ye Changsheng immediately let go of their hands excitedly.

He rushed over like a little cannonball, hugged Ye Changge's leg, and looked up with a boastful face.

"Brother! Look! I have little maidservants too! And I have two! One more than you!"

Although children's words are harmless, and Ye Changsheng was at that age where he was a nuisance to everyone,

hearing this as Ye Changge's "career" was just taking off,

for some reason, he felt slightly provoked by this little brat.

His mouth twitched, and he muttered under his breath, half-jokingly and half-maliciously.

"Fine, just wait. They might not be yours for much longer."
