413: Chapter 414 Su Yun'er!

"However, the refinement of the Dao Soldier Order cannot be completed in a short time. Materials, inscriptions, Restrictions... all require careful deliberation."

As he thought this, he prepared to turn and leave the Changge Hall.

Just as he was about to take flight, two crisp voices suddenly drifted up from below—

"Daddy!"

"Brother!"

Ye Changge was slightly taken aback and looked down.

He saw a small wooden boat drifting leisurely on the rippling blue lake below.

Two small figures on the boat were waving vigorously at him, their faces beaming with joyful smiles.

One was his daughter, Ye Qingyao.

The other was a young girl he had brought back several years ago from a mountain village that had been slaughtered by bandits, Su Yun'er.

A gentle smile appeared on Ye Changge's face. He stopped his flight and instead descended slowly toward the small boat.

The boat swayed gently, and he landed steadily on the bow.

"Qingyao, Yun'er, why are you here?"

Ye Changge looked at the two little ones, his tone filled with a hint of doting affection.

Ye Qingyao looked to be only seven or eight years old. She was currently wearing a fishing hat larger than her head, with the brim pulled low, revealing only a round, cute little face.

She held a fishing rod taller than herself in her arms, and a bamboo fish basket sat by her feet, from which the faint sound of splashing water could be heard.

Hearing her daddy's question, she immediately tilted her little face up and pointed at the fish basket with a triumphant expression:

"Daddy! Guess how many fish I caught today!"

She looked just like a little tabby cat waiting to be praised.

Ye Changge couldn't help but bend down to peek into the fish basket—it was packed with six or seven palm-sized spirit fish, still thrashing about.

The corner of his mouth twitched slightly.

This girl, her talent for fishing was truly no joke.

He recalled the System's assessment when he checked the children's talents a few days ago—Ye Qingyao's talent in "fishing" was ridiculously high, almost as if she had a natural instinct for bait.

At the time, he had worried that this child might neglect her proper work in the future and spend every day by the water fishing.

But then he thought, the child is still young, and happiness is what matters most.

He, Ye Changge, now had a vast estate; even if his daughter spent her whole life just fishing, he could afford to support her.

"Xiao Yao is truly amazing," Ye Changge praised with a smile. "But Daddy also caught a big fish today. Do you want to see it?"

"A big fish?" Ye Qingyao tilted her head, looking skeptical. "Daddy can catch a big fish?"

That expression clearly read—Daddy, aren't you just bragging?

Ye Changge immediately felt his paternal dignity challenged.

What's this? Is my little darling being cheeky now?

He feigned seriousness and huffed, then flipped his wrist, and a flash of light shone from the mouth of his beast-taming bag—he hauled out that Black Water Flood Dragon fish Dao Soldier.

The Dao Soldier's slender body swayed slightly in mid-air. Its dark, black scales shimmered with a metallic luster in the sunlight, seven faint, deep-blue spots on its back flickered in and out of view, its two long whiskers drifted in the wind, and its dense, sharp teeth gleamed with a cold light.

Its entire appearance was both majestic and ferocious.

"Wow—"

Ye Qingyao's mouth instantly opened into an "O" shape, her eyes wide and round, and her fishing hat almost fell off her head.

"So, so big!!"

She pointed at the Black Water Flood Dragon fish, which was longer than she was, her voice changing pitch with excitement:

"Daddy! What kind of fish is this! Why have I never seen it before! It's so cool! It's much more amazing than the little fish I caught!!"

The little girl asked a rapid-fire string of questions and leaned in closer to carefully examine the Dao Soldier, her eyes full of curiosity and wonder.

Beside her, Su Yun'er also widened her eyes slightly and covered her mouth, saying softly:

"Brother, this fish... doesn't look like an ordinary creature."

Her voice was gentle, soft, and sweet, carrying a natural, honeyed tone that made one's heart melt just listening to it.

Ye Changge turned to look at her.

Su Yun'er stood at the stern of the boat, her light purple dress swaying gently in the lake breeze.

She had blossomed much more than when they first met years ago; the youthful innocence had faded from her features, replaced by a unique temperament that sat between pure and alluring.

Her features were already exquisite. Now, under the afternoon sunlight, her skin looked almost translucent, the corners of her eyes tilted slightly upward, and every glance she cast carried a natural, captivating charm.

Yet, her expression always carried a hint of shyness and innocence. The combination of the two created an extreme contrast.

Every time Ye Changge went to spend the night with her, he felt an irresistible urge.

"This is a first-tier, Medium Grade Yao Beast."

Ye Changge explained patiently, "Daddy cultivated it from a Seven-Star Bass King. It took quite a lot of effort."

"Wow! So a Seven-Star Bass can turn into such a cool fish!" Ye Qingyao's eyes lit up as she listened. "Daddy, you're so amazing! I want to be like you and catch such big fish in the future!"

Ye Changge couldn't help but chuckle as he watched her high-spirited appearance.

"Alright, alright, Daddy will wait for the day you catch a big fish."

He rubbed his daughter's head and casually put the Dao Soldier back into the beast-taming bag.

The boat was quiet for a moment, with only the faint sound of the lake breeze brushing over the water.

Ye Changge glanced at Su Yun'er beside him and asked in a low voice:

"Yun'er, how has your health been lately?"

Su Yun'er was slightly taken aback, then lowered her head and replied in a soft, delicate voice:

"It's still... the same as before."

There was a hint of imperceptible disappointment in her voice.

Ye Changge understood in his heart.

It had been several years since he brought Su Yun'er back to the Ye family. Their feelings for each other had deepened, and she had long since sincerely wanted to marry him.

Ye Changge naturally did not refuse. After they were married, he had truly cherished her.

But strangely, so many years had passed, and there was still no movement in Su Yun'er's belly.

Ye Changge had also quietly used the System to investigate, and the feedback he received was—the combination of Yao Race Bloodline and human Bloodline indeed made conception much more difficult than for ordinary people.

Coupled with the fact that Su Yun'er's Bloodline seemed quite extraordinary, conceiving offspring was even more difficult.

Although he felt regret in his heart, he had never neglected her in the slightest because of it.

"It's fine," Ye Changge reached out and gently held her hand, saying warmly, "This matter cannot be rushed. Let nature take its course. We have a long life ahead of us; there's no need to rush for this moment."

Su Yun'er looked up, a glimmer of moisture flashing in her slightly enchanting eyes, which she then hid by lowering her head.

"...Mm."

She responded softly and gripped Ye Changge's hand back tightly.

Beside them, Ye Qingyao completely failed to notice the moment of tenderness between the two. She was squatting by the edge of the boat, reaching her hand into the lake water, trying to scoop up a small silver fish swimming past her feet.

"Little fish, don't run! Let this Young Miss have a look at you!"

Seeing this, Ye Changge shook his head helplessly, let go of Su Yun'er's hand, and stepped forward to scoop his daughter back up.
