414: Chapter 415 Yun'er, wait for me!

Ye Qingyao squatted at the bow of the boat, one hand gripping a bamboo pole, the other clumsily poking at the water. Her little face was full of seriousness.

"Be careful not to fall into the water."

"I won't! I am a fishing Genius!"

"Geniuses can fall into the water too."

Crisp laughter rippled across the small boat. Ye Qingyao turned back and made a face at Ye Changge, then turned around again to continue her "great fishing endeavor."

However, the bamboo pole had been stirring in the water for a long time, and let alone fish, not even the shadow of a shrimp had been seen.

Ye Changge watched his daughter's serious demeanor and couldn't help but find it amusing.

This little girl was clearly just playing with water, yet she insisted on pretending to be fishing.

He leaned against the side of the boat, lazily sunbathing, his gaze falling on Ye Qingyao's back.

The little girl wore her hair in two small buns that bobbed up and down with her movements, like two lively butterflies.

After a while, Ye Qingyao finally gave up her title of "fishing Genius," threw the bamboo pole onto the deck, and turned around, pouting:

"Daddy! The fish here are too cunning! They're all bullying me!"

Ye Changge smiled, reached out to pull her to sit beside him, and rubbed her little head:

"Yes, yes, yes, it's all the fish's fault. Later, Daddy will have people put more stupid fish into Biluo Lake, just for Qingyao to catch."

Ye Qingyao tilted her head and thought about it. It seemed like a pretty good idea, so she nodded vigorously:

"Then I want the kind that are big and stupid! The kind that bite the hook as soon as I fish!"

"Alright, the kind that bite as soon as you fish."

Seeing that his daughter had no suspicions at all, Ye Changge couldn't help but secretly breathe a sigh of relief. This little padded jacket hadn't completely leaked air yet; she was still easy to fool.

He gently pinched Ye Qingyao's little cheek and chatted about this and that, from the water birds by the lake to that fat sparrow that had flown into the courtyard a few days ago and refused to leave, making the little girl giggle non-stop.

After listening for a while, Ye Qingyao suddenly remembered something, turned her head, and shouted to the back: "Sister Yuner! Look, Daddy is bullying me again!"

Su Yuner was sitting at the stern of the boat, quietly listening to the father and daughter's conversation. Hearing Ye Qingyao call her, she slightly raised her head, revealing a beautiful face with curved eyebrows and eyes, watching the father and daughter with a smile.

She didn't speak, just shook her head gently, her eyes filled with gentle smiles.

Taking advantage of the moment Ye Qingyao turned to reach for a water strider on the side of the boat, Ye Changge calmly transmitted his voice to Su Yuner: "Yuner, wait for me tonight."

The voice fell into Su Yuner's Sea of Consciousness. Her fingers, which were holding the corner of her clothes, tightened slightly, and her heart immediately began to beat rapidly.

She lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling gently. Her gaze couldn't help but glance at Ye Qingyao, who was focused on poking the water strider, fearing that this little girl might notice something.

A moment later, she slightly raised her eyes, quickly nodded to Ye Changge, and then lowered her head again.

The amplitude of that nod was so small it was almost invisible, but Ye Changge saw it clearly.

This wasn't the first time he and Su Yuner had interacted like this.

Yet every time, this young lady was so shy and well-behaved, which only made him find it even more interesting.

In the end, Ye Qingyao didn't manage to poke the water strider; the bug kicked its legs and slipped away. She pouted angrily, and tugged on Ye Changge, saying she wanted to go back to eat snacks.

Ye Changge smiled and agreed, beckoning Su Yuner to go ashore with them.

The three of them walked slowly back along the path by the lake. The evening breeze brushed against their faces, causing the reeds by the lake to rustle.

Ye Changge walked in the middle, Ye Qingyao skipped along in front, and Su Yuner followed half a step behind, quietly.

The setting sun stretched the shadows of the three very long, moving slowly on the bluestone path.

Returning to the inner courtyard, Ye Qingyao was led away by her nanny to eat snacks and wash her little face, and Ye Changge and Su Yuner parted ways.

He looked at the sky and turned to walk towards Changge Hall.

Changge Hall was brightly lit.

Lu Shiyin sat upright behind the desk, a thick stack of account books spread out before her. Holding a brush, she was checking something item by item.

Her expression was focused and serious, with a few strands of dark hair falling in front of her forehead, making her gentle face appear even softer.

The candlelight shone on her profile, casting a warm halo over her.

Hearing footsteps, she looked up and saw it was Ye Changge. She put down the brush and smiled brightly: "Husband, you're here."

"It's so late and you're still checking the accounts; don't tire yourself out."

Ye Changge walked to her side, his gaze sweeping over the open account book, which was densely packed with various expenditure items:

Spirit Field expansion, 120 mu, cost Spirit Stone... Repair of the disciples' school, cost Spirit Stone... Initial foundation construction of the Puppet Factory, cost Spirit Stone... These were all arrangements made by Ye Changge previously.

"I just received a batch of Material invoices today, and I was just reconciling them to avoid any mistakes or omissions." As Lu Shiyin spoke, she stood up to pour him a cup of tea, "Is there something you need to instruct me on, Husband, by coming over at this time?"

Ye Changge didn't stand on ceremony. He took the tea, drank a mouthful, and then took a jade slip from his robes and placed it on the desk: "Shiyin, there is something I need to trouble you to take a trip for."

"Please speak, Husband."

"Inside this is a list of Materials needed to refine basic Medicinal Pills like Spirit Opening Pills and Body Tempering Pills. The quantity is quite large.

I cannot get away from the matters at hand for the moment, so please help me procure them in full. Do not skimp on Spirit Stones; quality comes first."

Lu Shiyin took the jade slip, probed it with her Divine Sense, glanced at it, and nodded slightly: "These are all common medicinal herbs, but the quantity is indeed quite large. I will arrange for someone to handle it tomorrow."

She didn't ask about the purpose, just carefully put away the jade slip and picked up the brush to make a note in the account book: "Procured a batch of Medicinal Pill Materials for Husband, Spirit Stone cost to be determined."

Ye Changge watched her meticulous way of doing things, and his heart couldn't help but feel warm. Lu Shiyin always put him at ease; she never asked questions she shouldn't, yet she always handled the tasks he entrusted to her perfectly.

"You've worked hard, Shiyin." He reached out and gently held her hand.

Lu Shiyin held his hand in return and smiled: "Sharing your burdens, Husband, is my duty."

The two exchanged a few more casual remarks before Ye Changge left Changge Hall.

The night grew deeper.

The moon rose to the center of the sky, its clear brilliance spilling over the courtyard.

Su Yuner had already bathed and changed clothes. At this moment, she was sitting on the edge of the bed, her pair of fair, white hands folded on her lap, her fingertips trembling slightly.

She was wearing a thin white nightgown, the fabric soft and form-fitting, outlining her slender and graceful figure. A head of pitch-black long hair was scattered over her shoulders, making her little face appear even fairer.

Soft footsteps came from outside the door, followed by the sound of the door being pushed open.

Su Yuner's body tensed slightly, but she didn't look up, only clasping her hands more tightly together.

Ye Changge walked into the room, closed the door behind him, and casually set up a sound-insulation Restriction. He turned around, his gaze falling on the slender figure on the bed, and he couldn't help but soften his footsteps.

"Yuner."

Su Yuner finally looked up, her pair of peach blossom eyes watery, her cheeks flushed with a faint blush. She called out softly: "Brother..." Her voice was delicate and soft, the end of the sound carrying a slight tremor.
