21: Chapter 21 Stigmata

Just when Kaiwen saw her hair growing longer earlier, she already felt something was a bit off.

Now this off feeling seemed to have become even more serious.

Her body seemed to have become lighter, as if a heavy weight on her body had suddenly been unloaded.

She touched her chest again.

She clearly remembered that her chest seemed to have been struck before, but now not only did it not hurt, there wasn't even the slightest trace of injury.

Not just this, the scraped palm from climbing over the iron gate earlier, and the injuries sustained when saving Miyuki before, had all completely disappeared now.

It was as if she had just crawled out of the womb.

This was not normal.

Being struck by a Herrscher, logically speaking, Kaiwen should have been lying in a coffin by now, rather than bouncing around alive here.

Could it be that Raiden Mei let her off the hook out of past affection? And by the way even buffed her a little?

All those past events...

"Uh~"

At this moment, a weird roar interrupted Kaiwen's wild thoughts.

She raised her eyes to look, and about five hundred meters away from her, a person seemed to be wandering?

Put in the past, at twenty meters away she couldn't recognize her own relatives, at fifty meters away she couldn't tell male from female, and at one hundred meters away she couldn't tell humans from beasts.

But now, not only could she clearly see the viscous purple liquid flowing down that person's face, she could even see the details of the festering on that guy's face crystal clear.

This... is this something I can... cough cough... something I should be seeing?

Five hundred meters, that was a distance of half a kilometer! Was this really not someone installing contact lenses on her?

Kaiwen rubbed her eyes hard, even suspecting whether she had lain in the ruins for too long and her brain broke, causing hallucinations.

"Uh ah..." That person seemed to have sensed Kaiwen's gaze, their originally swaying body suddenly stiffening, and then rushing toward Kaiwen's direction in an extremely distorted posture.

What the hell, I can see you, and you can see me too?

Looking at that rushing, distorted dark shadow, the alarm bells in Kaiwen's head instantly maxed out. This guy was obviously not right, and Kaiwen didn't want to contact this guy at all.

Thus, she subconsciously prepared to run outward, but the moment she exerted force, her entire person shot out like a cannonball.

The wind whistled past her ears, and the ruins and street views on both sides retreated rapidly.

Kaiwen was shocked to find that by just exerting a little force, she had left that strange guy far behind.

Not only was the speed fast, as she started running, the surrounding visual experience became even weirder.

She could feel wisps of purple shimmering light floating in the air, as if they had life, densely converging toward the direction of Chiba Academy.

Although her mind was currently filled with philosophical thoughts of "Am I still a human or not", her intuition was unprecedentedly clear: follow these lines to Chiba Academy, and Mei was right there.

Kaiwen gritted her teeth and ran toward Chiba Academy, following the purple fine threads.

As a result, before she could even run out of this residential area, while passing a crossroads corner, a crooked thick iron pipe swept straight toward her forehead with a whoosh and fierce wind.

"Who?!"

Kaiwen's body instinctively leaned backward, stopping her feet with an extremely exaggerated posture.

The iron pipe whistled past a few centimeters in front of her nose tip, and then she saw Kiana's dust-covered face.

Kiana had originally been guarding against her surroundings with high vigilance, when she suddenly discovered a white figure rushing out, and subconsciously swung the iron rod out. As a result, the rod missed, and she just wanted to retract her force to smash again.

However, a somewhat familiar yet somewhat unfamiliar face occupied her field of vision.

"Ke... Kaiwen?!"

Kiana stared fixedly at Kaiwen for several seconds, loosened her hand, and the iron pipe dropped to the ground with a clatter.

"Kaiwen!!"

She rushed up in one step, her hands pressing tightly onto Kaiwen's shoulders, with a strength so great it felt as if she was going to crush Kaiwen's shoulders.

"It's you, right Kaiwen? Why didn't you reply to messages?!" Kiana's voice was both urgent and hoarse, her eye sockets instantly turning red, "The phone couldn't get through either, I thought you—"

"I'm fine, my phone's screen just went black and won't turn on." Kaiwen was shaken a bit dizzy by her, and hurriedly reached out to hold Kiana's wrists.

Kiana looked her up and down, examining her meticulously, and after confirming that there really were no injuries on her body, her gaze suddenly locked onto Kaiwen's hair.

"Your hair... how did it grow this long?" She reached out to pick up a strand of pink and white mixed hair, "And this hair color, what's going on?"

"I'm not too sure either..." Kaiwen sighed somewhat helplessly, pulling her hair back from Kiana's hands, "When I woke up, my hair was like this."

Kiana wanted to ask more, but the faintly transmitted roaring sound from the street corner in the distance interrupted her.

Her expression turned stern, and pulling Kaiwen's arm, she whispered, "Let's get to a safe place first."

Kaiwen followed Kiana and quickly flashed into the small alley by the side of the road.

While vigilantly staring at the alley entrance, guarding against the Death Soldier that might appear outside at any time, Kiana lowered her voice and asked, "What were you in such a rush to do just now?"

"I'm going to find Raiden Mei!"

Hearing this, Kiana's brows instantly knitted together: "Find Mei? She just already... Do you know where she is?"

"I... I can feel it." Kaiwen pointed at those purple fine threads in the air, "The Honkai Energy in the air is gathering toward one place, I believe Mei is right there."

Kiana looked along the direction she pointed, but besides pitch blackness, there was nothing.

She looked at Kaiwen somewhat seriously: "Kaiwen, are you alright? And how do you know the word Honkai Energy?"

Kaiwen's heart skipped a beat.

Crap, she accidentally blurted out Honkai Energy.

"Uh... well," Kaiwen averted her gaze with a bit of guilty conscience, randomly making up an excuse, "I was just at Mei's house, and heard that... well, there was a little girl with double-helix hair talking with Mei, I heard it from them."

"A little girl with double-helix hair? Is it that one over there?"

Kaiwen looked over in the direction of Kiana's finger.

She saw a little girl with a silver-gray double-helix hairstyle crouching deep in the alley, watching them expressionlessly.

Seeing the two look over, Bronya slowly walked out from the shadows of the alley.

Those gray eyes crossed over Kiana in front and landed on Kaiwen.

"Kiana-neesan, is she the younger sister you're looking for?"

"Yeah, she is Kaiwen." Kiana walked to Kaiwen's side, tugged her hand, then turned her head to look at Kaiwen, "You just said you met her at Mei's house?"

Facing Kiana's pair of eyes filled with concern, and feeling Bronya's gaze cast from the side, Kaiwen only felt her scalp go numb.

Who would have thought that Kiana actually hung out with Bronya, and even brought people right over.

"Uh... right," Kaiwen forced out a stiff smile, looking at Bronya's expressionless face, "It's her. I happened to be in the room at the time, heard a sound, and opened the door to take a look, and happened to see her iconic hairstyle..."
