166: Chapter 166: The Black Cat's Blessing (Part 7)
What on earth is going on?
Entering the mansion.
One could clearly feel a faint, musty odor permeating the air.
As they ventured further inside, there was also an indescribable, sweet, and bloody stench.
"Hmm? What is that smell?"
"Ugh!"
"It smells terrible."
Tai You pinched his nose, his face twisted in a grimace; he had just wanted to take a breath, but he almost vomited.
The entire mansion was filled with a foul and strange odor.
Qian Ye and the others were walking in front, not yet noticing that the people who had followed them in all wore expressions of terror and regret.
The deeper they went inside, the stronger the musty and sweet, bloody scent became.
"Does this look like a place to hold a banquet?" Tai You couldn't help but mutter. There was nothing here, and in such a desolate place, who exactly was playing this prank?
"Meow, meow..."
"Meow..."
Suddenly, cat cries came from all directions, and black shadows appeared in every corner, flickering in and out of sight, as if roaring.
"Where is that cat sound coming from?"
There was no sign of any cats here.
"So noisy, it's annoying."
The man following behind had a face full of annoyance; he hated cats the most.
As if in response to him, the surrounding cat cries grew closer, yet when they looked around, they didn't find anything.
At this moment, Qian Ye was standing in front of the main hall's door. The next second, with a "thud," the door opened automatically, accompanied by an even heavier, sweet, and bloody stench.
Stepping onto the steps, the entire hall suddenly lit up.
Several candles were lit on the walls around the hall, igniting one by one from the outside in.
This sudden change added an extra layer of horror to the already eerie mansion.
The group lingered in front of the door, and behind them, unnoticed, countless black shadows emerged, staring intently at them.
The cries grew closer, and if one listened carefully, they were mixed with a sense of urgency, as if urging them to hurry inside.
In the dark night, those cries sounded more like the mixed wailing of several small children, making one's spine chill.
Facing a dilemma, the group ultimately chose to enter the hall; at least it looked a bit safer.
As these people entered, the door slammed shut with a "bang."
Following that, sudden music began to play throughout the hall. The sound was sometimes slow and sometimes fast, and the candlelight on the walls swayed along with it.
"What, what are those?"
A sudden voice.
An unfamiliar tone.
Qian Ye looked toward the direction of the voice, and following the direction of his finger, beside the candlelight, scrolls of paintings unfolded on the wall.
Each scroll depicted a black cat, and the expressions of the black cats in the oil paintings were all different.
Their dark green eyes seemed to emit a ghostly green light, watching everything in the hall.
While Qian Ye was still observing the black cats in those oil paintings, Tai You beside him was staring at them.
"So beautiful."
"Like..."
Tai You reached out his hand, his expression infatuated, his eyes gazing obsessively at the oil paintings on the wall as he walked forward step by step.
Suddenly, other things appeared in his line of sight. Qian Ye looked closely and saw that the people who had been staring at the oil paintings were all reaching out their hands and walking toward the wall.
Seeing Tai You getting closer and closer to the oil painting, the red singer on Qian Ye's hand hooked his collar, holding him in place.
The next instant, Qian Ye walked over to Tai You and tapped him on the head; the pain made him snap out of it.
"Hiss, that hurts."
"What's going on?"
Tai You rubbed his head, turned around, and met Qian Ye's eyes.
"Big, Big Boss!"
Why did Big Boss hit him?
Tai You rubbed his head, instinctively looked back, and continued to gaze toward those oil paintings.
