179: Chapter 179: The Black Cat's Blessing (Part 20)
At this moment, the black mist on the Little Girl had already thickened and spread across her entire body.
Under Qianye's gaze, only the thick black mist was visible, to the point where even her complexion could no longer be seen.
Her soul had already been tainted.
The Little Girl was at a loss.
She did not know what the person in front of her wanted to do.
"Let's leave this place first."
"Hehe..."
"Leave?"
The Little Girl looked at Qianye, then looked at herself.
She couldn't understand.
There was nothing on her body worth scheming for, was there?
Why?
"Cough, cough, cough..."
"Look at the state I'm in..."
"Leave?"
"Cough... If I leave... cough... how much longer can I live?"
Qianye, standing to the side, examined her calmly; her face was pale, her lips devoid of color, and her entire frame remained so frail.
It was clear that just growing up to this age was a matter of luck.
"You go..."
"The time... is almost here."
"Cough... My soul... is about to obtain... freedom..."
As she said this, the depths of the Little Girl's eyes radiated a glimmer of hope.
In her view, only by offering herself to Lord Curtain Shadow would she truly be free.
Seeing the determination in the Little Girl's eyes, Qianye said nothing more.
The reason she had come in was merely for an answer.
Now she was certain.
Leaving the wooden house, Qianye followed her memory and walked outside.
There had been some changes here, but the general outline hadn't altered much; she could still somewhat make out what it used to look like.
Finding the appearance from her memories, Qianye fell silent.
Before her stood a massive temple, with nothing obstructing it anymore.
In front of the temple was a huge tripod, inside which incense was burning.
When Qianye approached the place, before even stepping inside, she could feel the thick black mist just at the entrance.
Walking inside, the dense mist was so stinging that Qianye couldn't see anything clearly.
"Hmm, you really arrived at a good time."
Looking at this thick black mist, Qianye flipped her palm, and the flower pot appeared in her hand once again.
The green sprout swayed back and forth incessantly; just watching its movements, one could see how excited it was.
"Wow, wow, wow, Master, you've come to a good place."
"Hehe."
"It can grow tall again."
"If I work hard and grow longer, I can be a little bed for Ling Ling."
Sensing its thoughts, the corner of Qianye's mouth twitched, and she shook her head with a wry smile.
As soon as spider lily appeared, the black mist was forced to drift toward it.
The next second, the black mist churned and struggled, but it was to no avail; the mist dissipated bit by bit.
After the mist dispersed, a massive black cat statue, about two meters tall, appeared before Qianye's eyes.
Qianye stared at that pair of ghostly green eyes, her fingers lightly rubbing together.
"Looks good, I want it..."
"To collect."
"It's like it's real."
Below the giant statue was written an introduction to this stone image.
The giant black cat before her was the Curtain Shadow that the Little Girl had spoken of.
Qianye stared intently at the black cat's eyes, resting her chin in her hand as she paced back and forth.
Suddenly, a rustling sound echoed from behind the stone statue.
When Qianye walked, the sound echoed; when she stopped, the sound also ceased.
Immediately, Qianye kept walking continuously until she discovered the source of that sound.
"Caught you."
Qianye grinned, reached out, and grabbed a piece of fabric.
"Don't, don't kill me."
It was a boy's voice, as he was dragged out from the darkness of the black cat statue by Qianye.
Clad in coarse linen clothes, he covered his head, shivering all over, and kept muttering to himself.
"No, no!"
"I, I don't want to die."
Dragging the person out from inside, Qianye looked up to examine him; he was hunched over, covering his head, making it impossible to see his face.
