197: Chapter 197 The Golden Gate Symbolizing the [Future]: The Truth of History and [Elemental Domination]

Anya's eyes dimmed instantly, and she bit her lip gently: "Most of those human texts are fake."

She walked to the window, lifted the vine acting as a curtain, and pointed to the patches of fluorescent plants outside the window: "We Dark Elves do not turn into ash just by being exposed to sunlight; it is just that Light Magic is extremely lethal to us."

The place you are in now is the [Underground World], where the rich Dark Elements and thin Light Elements are more suitable for our survival.

Dark Elves were the first sentient beings in this world. Following the birth of the Human Race, we taught humans knowledge and magic, helping them establish a civilization, until an unexpected event shattered this harmonious atmosphere."

Bai Ye frowned as he listened to the history the girl spoke of, which was not recorded in the texts of the Church of Light. He had a completely different understanding of the "evil" Dark Elves in his heart.

Anya raised her hand and waved it lightly. A vine slowly descended and quickly grew into a hanging basket before Bai Ye's eyes. The girl slumped into the vine basket, reached out to tuck her white hair behind her ear, and gathered two elemental energy spheres in her hands—one pitch black and one emerald green.

"These are the Dark Element and the Wood Element. You humans in the Surface World must rarely see them, right?

In ancient times, because humans were too weak and fragile, the fourth Human King requested the Dark Elf Queen to teach humans magic knowledge. Since the initial humans possessed an All-Element Incompatibility constitution and could not feel the elemental energy in the air, the Dark Elf Queen removed the four crystals embedded in our race's treasure, the [Scepter of Elements], and lent them to the Human King. To this end, she specially created a [Fountain of Elements] that could grant humans elemental affinity. As the red Fire Element crystal, blue Water Element crystal, yellow Earth Element crystal, and cyan Wind Element crystal were embedded one by one, the four-colored elemental spring water began to flow from the Human Kingdom, spreading to the entire world, and the humans and beasts who drank the elemental spring water thus gained the ability of elemental affinity."

"As time passed, the ninth Human King harbored jealousy because his request to the Dark Elf Queen to borrow the remaining white Light Element crystal, black Dark Element crystal, and green Wood Element crystal from the [Scepter of Elements] was refused. During the celebration in the Human Kingdom to which he invited the Dark Elf Queen, he carried out an assassination. As the elemental dagger, crafted from Ore soaked in the [Fountain of Elements] for a hundred years, pierced her chest, the Dark Elf Queen looked in disbelief at the once-innocent humans who were now more vicious than jackals. Clutching her chest in pain, the Dark Elf Queen looked with sorrow at the Human King who reached out to snatch the [Scepter of Elements], and released the forbidden magic inherent to the [Scepter of Elements]: [Element Control]."

Anya jumped suddenly in front of Bai Ye, meeting his eyes at an ultra-close range. Both felt each other's breathing. As the eye contact continued, the Dark Elf girl's cheeks and ear tips began to flush red. The girl huffed, turned around, and sat back in the hanging basket.

"As the Dark Elf Queen released the forbidden magic [Element Control], the [Scepter of Elements] in the Queen's hand and the seven elemental crystals in the [Fountain of Elements] at the center of the Human Kingdom shattered instantly. The crystal powder scattered in the air was drawn by an invisible force to a certain place and disappeared, and from then on, humans lost their affinity energy for elements."

"The Dark Elf Queen used her last strength to transfer the Tree of Darkness, which nurtures the Dark Elves, to this [Underground World], and informed all Dark Elves of the disgusting nature of humans through the mental link of the Tree of Darkness.

The Human King, discovering that he could not feel elemental energy as before, looked angrily at the corpse of the Dark Elf Queen before him. His eyes flashed with madness, and he crawled onto the Dark Elf Queen's wound to suck the blood flowing out from it.

Subsequently, the Human King discovered to his surprise that he had regained his elemental affinity ability, and perhaps because he had consumed the Dark Elf Queen's blood, it was even stronger than his previous affinity. From then on, the Human King issued an order to capture the Dark Elves."

"At first, the Dark Elves could easily resist human attacks with their own magic, but as humans used poisons, traps, and other methods, dozens of the Dark Elf race, which numbered less than a thousand, were brutally killed.

As more and more humans drank the blood of Dark Elves and gained stronger elemental affinity, they discovered that Light Magic, which contains Light Elements, had a powerful damaging ability against Dark Elves. With this as a turning point, the Dark Elves of the Surface World were nearly wiped out, and the screams and wails of every tribesman before their death still echo in the mental link of the Tree of Darkness to this day."

Seeing that Bai Ye was depressed because of the story she told, Anya mischievously released Wood Element magic to sprout a small light purple flower in front of Bai Ye. Bai Ye stared blankly at the smiling girl, and his body instinctively rushed forward to hug her tightly.

Anya was stunned by Bai Ye's action and stood rooted to the spot. After struggling a few times and finding she could not break free, she felt the warm embrace of the white-haired young man. Her little mouth pouted, and she cried out. Her small body collapsed into Bai Ye's arms. The crying, which lasted for more than ten minutes, allowed this Dark Elf girl to vent the emotions that had been tortured by the tragic fate of the Dark Elves for countless years.

Bai Ye released the girl in his arms who had stopped crying. Not knowing what to say, he finally spat out three words: "I am sorry."

"Pfft~" Anya looked at the white-haired young man in front of her who was a bit at a loss, wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, and laughed: "It's not your fault; that was a sin committed by humans a long time ago."

"As Dark Elves were continuously hunted, humans established the Church of Light. First, they compiled false human history to cover up human atrocities; second, they fed all newborn infants 'Holy Water' containing 'Dark Elf blood' to grant them elemental affinity; third, they established a new class system where Light Magic is supreme; fourth, they trained spellcasters and warriors to hunt Dark Elves." Anya extended four fingers and waved them in the air.

"As for how I know this, it is all thanks to the Wood Element magic unique to the Dark Elves. Humans cannot gain Wood Element affinity by consuming Dark Elf blood, because this is an ability bestowed upon every Dark Elf by the Tree of Darkness.

Since I was born 500 years ago, I have been continuously exploring the Surface World through Wood Element magic, and these are the true histories recorded in the most confidential archives of the Human Kingdom."

Anya proudly extended her index finger and drew circles in the air. Suddenly noticing the disbelief in Bai Ye's eyes and realizing why the young man was surprised, Anya puffed out her chest and said proudly: "We Dark Elves have no lifespan limit, and my age of 520 is only equivalent to over 15 years old for you humans~"
