92: Chapter 92 The Foundation of Logic, the String of Destiny
The absolute core of the Numerology Maze, a silent place where the Void Realm and rules intertwine.
Zhang Hao's eyes, with their golden starlight and the darkness of Chaos, were like two bottomless pools, clearly reflecting everything that had just occurred in the "Void Abyss" hall—from Aubrey's team discovering the [Starlight Condensation Bead C-Rank], to the brutal battle with the [Star Remains Guardian C-Rank], to Aubrey touching the treasure and triggering an evolution, up to the fatal backstab by the [Void Lurker C-Rank], and finally, that last-second teleportation and the closing scene of a terrifying giant foot stomping down.
All of this was not pure coincidence, but the result of precise weaving.
It was he who, upon realizing that the team carrying the "C-Rank treasure clue" had triggered the [mirror of fates crossroads] again and fallen into the third level, began an invisible guidance.
He did not directly manipulate their wills; that violated a certain bottom line within him and was not the optimal solution.
What he did was something more in line with his nature—conducting deductions and layouts based on information.
He knew of Aubrey's [Wealth Resonance] Talent and greedy nature (information input); he understood the distribution of the third level's monsters, the mechanisms of the traps, and the characteristics of the environment (rules database); he predicted the behavioral patterns of the [Void Lurker] and the probability of it launching an attack during intense energy fluctuations (Logic deduction).
Thus, he fine-tuned the flow of environmental energy, making the aura of the treasure point more clearly toward the preset "stage" (setting parameters); he slightly shifted the monsters' patrol paths, allowing the team to experience just the right amount of tempering rather than a certain-death situation (adjusting variables); he waited quietly for all conditions to be met, waiting for that time point with the highest probability of attack (execution node).
The entire process was like running a complex simulation program: inputting variables, setting rules, and deducing the result with the highest probability.
He did not create Fate; he was merely, amidst infinite "possibilities" and based on known information and rules, using minute interference to guide events toward the direction that was logically most probable and most in line with his expectations (obtaining intense emotional energy, spreading information about the third level, testing the Host's limits).
Watching Aubrey activate his newborn [Wealth Resonance C-Rank] Talent at the brink of life and death, burn a treasure repair scroll, and finally escape with heavy injuries and the information, Zhang Hao's heart was filled with a cold, clear clarity.
This was a sense of satisfaction from verifying the correctness of a complex formula.
"This is… my way." He whispered to himself, his fingertips unconsciously tracing invisible trajectories and connecting lines in the Void Realm, "Using [Logic] as a ruler to measure the [fate trajectory]; using [Logic] as a shuttle to weave the threads of [Karma]."
At the beginning of the mission, that cold prompt information surfaced in his mind once again: [Talent Roots: Fate, Karma], [Soul Base: Logic].
He had only had a vague concept of this before, but now, through these ten days, especially the successful "guidance experiment" just now, he had a deeper realization.
[Logic] was the core of his thinking, the fundamental way he understood the world and deconstructed rules.
It allowed him to calmly analyze information, deduce possibilities, and find the inherent connections and patterns between things.
[Fate], in his eyes, was no longer some mysterious destiny, but a probability cloud composed of countless "possibilities" that could be observed and even calculated.
Every [fate trajectory] represented a sequence of events that could occur under specific conditions.
[Karma] was the bond connecting these "possibilities," the inherent, deducible association between events.
A "cause" (such as setting a treasure chest trap), under specific rules (maze mechanisms) and conditions (the Host's choice), would derive a corresponding "effect" (falling into a predicament).
His power lay in using his own [Logic] base to observe and analyze that vast [Fate] "probability cloud," and to understand and even fine-tune those "connecting lines" of [Karma] that linked possibilities.
[Logic] was the engine, the algorithm; [Fate] and [Karma] were the data, the objects available for manipulation.
"Therefore, I am able to do it…" He looked thoughtfully at the "Void Abyss" that had already incited a storm among the Hosts, "Because I am not blindly plucking the strings, but performing precise interference after understanding the maze rules, the Hosts' behavioral patterns, energy flow laws, and a series of other 'Logic'."
This Numerology Maze, to him, had long since transcended the mission itself.
It was a massive database, providing him with massive amounts of "Fate" and "Karma" samples; it was an excellent testing ground, allowing him to verify the feasibility of intervening in [Fate] and [Karma] based on [Logic]; it was even more so a key, currently helping him unlock a deeper connection between his own Talent and his Soul essence.
"Then, when [Logic] is strong enough, and the understanding of [Fate] and [Karma] is deep enough, is it possible to… in the true sense, calculate and control the future?"
This thought was like a seed, falling into the heart-field he had constructed from [Logic].
He knew that this road was still long, but the direction was already clear.
His gaze turned once again to that boisterous maze filled with "variables."
New data needed to be collected, new deductions needed to be verified, and new "experiments"… were about to begin.
