88: Chapter 88 Naming the Three Layers and the Initial Construction of the Abyss

On the tenth day since the opening of the Numerology Maze, the night was as dark as ink.

The clamor of Adventurers Town felt muffled and distant, as if separated by a layer of frosted glass.

At the absolute core of the maze, Zhang Hao stood silently in the Void Realm, his consciousness seamlessly connected to the maze builder panel.

On the panel, the number in the maze construction points column had climbed to an astonishing height after ten days of frantic accumulation, and it was still fluctuating slightly due to the continuous emotional waves on the surface.

The massive reserve of points exuded a reassuring "sense of power."

Zhang Hao knew that the savings were sufficient; it was time for this maze to undergo another essential leap.

"Upgrade to Rank C."

There were no earth-shattering phenomena, only a silent roar and reconstruction at the level of the Law.

The massive amount of maze construction points poured into the core Law of the maze like a floodgate opening.

The "status" of the maze itself was forcibly elevated, and the stability of the space, the capacity limit for energy, and the complexity of the Law all leaped toward a higher level.

Immediately after, the points plummeted again at an unprecedented speed, with a clear goal—to open up a deeper Domain!

The third underground level, supported by the immense points, was explored, shaped, and solidified in an instant.

The space of the three hundred maze grids was no longer just simple excavation and expansion, but was endowed with a unique "concept" and "atmosphere."

Just as the third-level space stabilized and formed, a thought flashed through Zhang Hao's mind like a spark, carrying a hint of casualness, yet seeming perfectly natural.

Looking at the three-level space shaped by his own will, like an artist examining his work, he impulsively gave them names:

Underground Level 1: Trial Corridor. This implied that this place was the initial testing ground for new adventurers, where the paths were relatively clear, and both challenges and opportunities were in plain sight.

Underground Level 2: Element Heart. This originated from the varied and intense elemental environment and regional Law effects within, like the heart where the world's Law was materialized.

Underground Level 3: Void Abyss. This described its depth, unknown nature, and bizarre spatial structure, as if it were connected to some kind of nothingness, devouring light and hope.

The moment the naming was completed, he vaguely felt the maze itself tremble slightly; these names seemed to be branded into the foundation of the space, merging with it.

His main attention was cast toward the newly born third underground level—the Void Abyss.

Completely different from the upper levels, this place was filled with a strong sense of Advanced quality and mystery from the very beginning of its birth:

Spatial Structure: Extremely complex. Huge, broken floating stone bridges connected different platforms, with bottomless darkness below.

On the walls of the spiraling downward corridors, static gateways whose operating principles could not be understood appeared from time to time; passing through them felt as if the flow of time had changed.

Some areas required solving floating rune matrices to open passages, or defeating specific guards to activate teleportation halos.

Environment and Light Source: Light mainly came from bioluminescent moss on the rock walls that pulsed like blood vessels, emitting a faint purple or dark blue glow, as well as astral dust drifting disorderly in the air, dragging faint tails of light.

The air was filled with a cold mist, which not only significantly weakened the perception range but also occasionally distorted the transmission of sound.

From the bottomless rifts, ethereal and eerie echoes would occasionally drift out, like whispers or sighs, challenging the sanity of the explorers.

Texture and Atmosphere: The rock walls presented a texture similar to a Fusion of obsidian and cold iron, smooth and cold, occasionally automatically revealing flowing, dark golden runes with obscure meanings, which then vanished.

The ground was sometimes huge stone slabs carved with ancient astrological charts, and sometimes translucent crystallized layers through which the scenery of the Void Realm below could be vaguely seen.

The overall atmosphere was oppressive, magnificent, and full of deadly unknowns; every step felt like treading on the boundary between reality and illusion.

While building the main framework of the "Void Abyss," Zhang Hao's consciousness, like the most efficient command center, instantaneously and drastically redistributed the resource allocation of the entire maze:

Underground Level 1 - Trial Corridor (Rank E Home Field):

Monsters: Completely downgraded to Rank E basic monsters, serving as a newbie adaptation zone.

Treasures/Traps: Corresponding to Rank E standards, mainly consisting of practical low-level items and simple traps.

Environment: Kept relatively simple and bright, with most high-risk environments removed.

Underground Level 2 - Element Heart (Rank D Home Field):

Monsters: Primarily various Rank D monsters, with more Rank D elites with distinct characteristics introduced. In the core area, a small number of Rank C monsters were set as regional overlords or hidden challenges.

Treasures/Traps: Rank D became the standard, with a richer variety of treasures and more cunning traps. Rank C treasure clues or components served as high-difficulty rewards.

Environment: Retained and strengthened various elemental anomaly zones and Law interference zones, with difficulty and rewards increasing synchronously.

Underground Level 3 - Void Abyss (Rank C Home Field):

Monsters: The entry threshold was Rank C. It was filled with terrifying existences such as Mirage Spirits capable of weaving realistic illusions, Spell-Breaking Shadow Demons whose attacks carried Law erosion, and Aberrant Fusions possessing various forms and resistances.

Treasures: The core output was all Rank C. There was a possibility of powerful skill scrolls, rare attribute fruits, fine equipment with unique abilities, and even curios containing fragments of the Law.

Traps: Rank C traps were densely packed. Spatial faults, conceptual distortions, Karma loops... perfectly combined with the environment, deadly and concealed.

Environment: It was the most dangerous trap itself, with mist, abnormal space, and mentally polluting whispers intertwined, forming the ultimate trial ground.

Finishing all this, Zhang Hao felt the bottomless pit-like consumption speed of points for the "Void Abyss," and simultaneously foresaw the even more extreme emotional storm it could trigger.

A new stage, a higher level, and a more cruel selection.

He looked at the brand-new panel with a calm gaze. The names were set, the levels divided; next was waiting for the "actors" who could step onto this new stage.
