8: The protection of the Holy Light God?

"What? Another one?"

Amidst Lister's bewildered expression, that streak of purple light quickly crashed down.

Still without any sound, the landing spot was right next to the large crater where Lianna had landed.

Looking at the ball of light wrapped in purple radiance within the crater, Red grew excited again: "Lord Lister, the holy light god has bestowed another miracle upon you. Your glory will surely shine upon the entire Pedan Kingdom."

Everyone except Lister nodded in agreement, feeling honored to witness such a miracle once in their lifetime, let alone twice.

"Baron, your greatness needs no words."

"It is our honor to follow you, Baron."

Lister felt completely speechless at the self-imagined conclusions of Red and the others. He had known about Lianna's appearance through divination beforehand, but he truly had no idea about this double-feature.

Could it be true, as Red said, that he had received the blessing of the holy light god?

For a moment, he even suspected he might have some unknown, incredibly awesome identity, like being the illegitimate child of the holy light god or something.

Shaking his head to dispel those unrealistic thoughts, he regained his previous lordly demeanor and looked at the purple Pixie slowly waking up in the crater.

At this moment, Lianna, sitting on his shoulder, was chirping away. Since they had already signed a contract, he could clearly understand her meaning.

"Brother, Brother, am I going to have a new companion?"

The term 'Brother' was something Lister had instructed her to use in his consciousness; since it was an equal contract, there was no need to call him Master.

"Probably, in all likelihood." Lister did not commit completely; after all, if that purple Pixie didn't want to sign a contract with him, he would be at a loss.

While speaking, the young purple Pixie slowly opened her eyes and looked at Lister and the others, her purple pupils radiating an endless sense of mystery.

When she saw Lianna sitting on Lister, she immediately showed joy and flew over, chirping.

The two held hands and spun around, clearly very happy to meet a member of their own kind.

Seeing this scene, Lister knew—it was in the bag.

Without hesitation, he once again took some desserts out of his storage ring, employing the same trick a second time. As the old saying goes, don't worry about repeating a trick as long as it works.

Soon, he completed the contract with the young purple Pixie and also gave her a name: Livia Howard.

Signing contracts with two Pixies in one afternoon gave him a dreamlike feeling, especially with the mysterious purple Pixie whose specific abilities even he did not know.

Amidst his excitement, he found it strange that the previous divination information hadn't shown this, as it happened one right after the other; surely it wouldn't require two separate divination readings?

Keeping this question in mind, he took Red and the others and rode back the way they came.

...Inside the castle.

When they saw the two Pixies sitting on Lister's shoulders, gasps and praises from Thomas and the others rang out once again.

As for hiding the Pixies to prevent others from coveting them, there was no need. Although Pixies were precious, they were sold, just at very high prices.

Moreover, after signing a contract, they would receive the protection of the gods and could not be separated, so only uncontracted Pixies were worth fighting over.

Dinner time in the Pedan Kingdom was at 20:00, so after taking a bath, Lister returned to his room to rest.

In the room, the two Pixies, Lianna and Livia, flew back and forth. Having just been 'born,' they were curious about everything.

Letting them play on their own, the exhausted Lister fell into a deep sleep.

Approaching 20:00, a moderate and rhythmic knocking sounded at the door.

"Young Master Lister, it is time for dinner. Are you awake?" Thomas said respectfully.

A few breaths later, Lister's voice sounded: "Understood, Thomas. I will go down shortly."

Five minutes later, Lister sat at the head of the round table in the first-floor hall, with Thomas and the maids like Flora standing by to serve.

It had to be said that Thomas was very capable; in less than a day, the maids like Flora already looked quite professional.

Dinner was the main meal in the Pedan Kingdom, allowing busy people to relax and communicate at this time, so it was the most sumptuous.

Lister did not engage in that 'let's all eat together, we are one family' atmosphere; the distinction between master and servant was still necessary.

After the sumptuous dinner, he went to the camp next to the castle, intending to continue his training, while also wanting to see what Red and the others were doing.

As soon as he approached the camp, he heard Red and the others touting his 'glorious deeds.'

"I didn't expect to see two miracles today, all thanks to Lord Lister, who is blessed by the holy light god."

"Yes, it's a pity that for some reason the Baron was demoted to Baron. With his ability, he definitely deserves the title of Viscount."

"Tsk, what's a Viscount? I think a Count is no problem. With the Baron's appearance, maybe one day he'll be noticed by a great noble lady, or even a royal princess. If he marries them, he might even have a chance at becoming a Marquess."

"Hiss! Now that you mention it, isn't this the best time to bring our families over?"

"You only just realized? After returning from patrolling the territory with the Baron this afternoon, I already wrote and sent the letter."

"Damn!"

Hearing the group getting more and more carried away, Lister coughed and walked out of the darkness, and immediately everyone's eyes converged on him.

"Greetings, Lord Lister."

"Greetings, Baron."

After nodding with a smile, he said: "Don't mind me, carry on with your conversation. I'm going over there to train for a while."

Hearing that he was still going to train so late, everyone couldn't help but look surprised. One had to know that even Red wouldn't train after dinner.

Soon, Lister began training in a dark corner, without any feeling of just putting on a show.

Before long, Red and the others also joined the ranks of training. Firstly, they were truly inspired, and secondly, since their lord was training, how could they just stand by and watch?

To this, Lister just smiled slightly and continued to immerse himself in his training.

It was still the Breathing Technique combined with sword training. He knew well that one shouldn't bite off more than one can chew, so he only added spear training. One long, one short, mounted combat and foot combat, it was just the right combination.

Compared to sword training, spear training was much more difficult, and there were many snags. Red, noticing this, came over to provide guidance.

After training for over an hour and feeling a bit exhausted, he stopped. However, the gains were not small; although his swordsmanship hadn't broken through, his spear skills had reached the entry level, and his Breathing Technique had also improved significantly.

Such training speed made Red and the others feel admiration and envy.

At this time, Lister said: "I remember you all have two meals a day, right? That's a bit too little for high-intensity training. You can increase it to three meals a day; I will have Thomas arrange it."

"Of course, if you are willing to train after dinner in the future, you can add another meal late at night."

"As for the church's requirements..."
