56: Chapter 56 The Retaliation of the Isolated

After a brief, deathly silence, a roar like a tsunami erupted.

"Holy shit! Is this kid too arrogant?!"

"Arrogant? He has the capital to be arrogant! Didn't you watch the replay? Damn, he took out three of Li Wei's top talents without even being seen—that's called tactics!"

"From the bottom of the scoreboard to forty-seventh place in just one battle—this guy is a monster!"

The audience was in a complete frenzy; countless people stood up, craning their necks, trying to find the figure named Jiang Xun on the massive broadcast screen.

The once one-sided mockery and skepticism had all transformed into shock and curiosity.

The commentator's mouth hung open for a long time before he found his voice, his tone filled with incredulous excitement: "Ladies and gentlemen! Ladies and gentlemen! We have witnessed the most incredible counter-kill since the start of this competition! Jiangcheng contestant Jiang Xun has used a textbook ambush to prove to everyone that the swamp is not his dead end, but his hunting ground! With the three words 'Next one', he has issued a declaration of war to the entire Hunter Alliance!"

In the VIP area, Xu Qingran covered her mouth, her beautiful eyes shimmering with brilliance. The worry in her heart was swept away, replaced by an inexplicable sense of pride.

Old Baitou slowly picked up his teacup, blew on the steam, and smiled at the livid Deputy Chief Referee Sun Zhiyuan beside him: "Old Sun, look, I told you this child wasn't simple. Young people these days really know how to play."

The corner of Deputy Chief Referee Sun Zhiyuan's eye twitched. He didn't speak, but the gloom in his eyes deepened a few shades.

On the other side, in Li Wei's exclusive seating area, the atmosphere had dropped to freezing point.

He stared fixedly at the three glaring characters on the screen, crushing the energy drink can in his hand until it deformed, emitting a "creak-creak" sound.

"Good, very good!" Li Wei squeezed the words through his teeth, his handsome face slightly distorted by rage. "A bumpkin dares to provoke me? Does he really think he can turn things around just by relying on a little cleverness?"

He opened the Hunter Alliance's command channel and issued a new order in an icy voice.

"All squads pay attention! Abandon the mopping up of those useless lone players, and all converge toward the swamp area! Dig that rat out for me; I want to snap his neck with my own hands!"

"But boss, that swamp..." someone in the channel asked hesitantly.

"No buts!" Li Wei roared. "Isn't he arrogant? I want to see if his little army of stitched-together monsters can withstand the crushing force of our twenty-plus people!"

He added contemptuously: "A bunch of rabble dare to clamor in front of me."

While Li Wei's fury swept through the entire alliance, in other corners of the arena, the independent contestants who had been hunted down like stray dogs also saw this message.

Their reactions, however, were completely different.

In a narrow crevice between rocks, Chen Mo, the champion of Donglin City, was tightly covering his mouth, keeping his breathing to a minimum.

Although his "Bulwark Civilization" had astonishing defensive power, it couldn't withstand the repeated attrition from the Hunter Alliance. His divine power was bottoming out, and he had only managed to shake off his pursuers by hiding here, gasping for breath.

He had already despaired, feeling that his journey in this competition had come to an end.

But when he saw the message Jiang Xun sent in the public channel, and the scoreboard that refreshed immediately afterward, a bright light instantly burst into his eyes.

Someone... actually dared to resist, and they had succeeded!

The polite-looking young man who had cleared a path for him at the registration desk possessed such terrifying strength.

A surge of hot blood rushed to Chen Mo's heart. Rather than hiding like a rat and being humiliatingly eliminated in the end, it was better to take a gamble!

He took a deep breath, opened the battlefield communication system with trembling hands, and found the name shining brightly on the scoreboard—Jiang Xun.

He sent a friend request with a simple attached message: "I am Chen Mo, do you need allies?"

In a cave deep in the swamp, Jiang Xun was looking at the newly born energy shield units in his divine kingdom, which were covered in concentric dark runes, a look of satisfaction on his face.

He was not surprised to receive the communication request from Chen Mo.

His counter-kill and public declaration of war were meant to kill two birds with one stone.

It was both to suppress Li Wei's arrogance and to release a signal to other oppressed people: Here, there is a force of resistance.

He quickly accepted Chen Mo's friend request and replied just as simply and directly: "The reason, and your value."

Chen Mo did not hesitate, quickly laying out his situation and thoughts, and emphasized that his "Bulwark Civilization" could provide the most solid defense on the front line. At the same time, he also knew the locations and contact information of several other hunted top talents who all hated the Hunter Alliance to the bone.

"Very good," Jiang Xun replied. "I will give you a coordinate. In one hour, bring the people you trust to meet there. Remember, I only want elites, not dead weight."

After cutting off communication, Jiang Xun pulled up the map of the entire Realm of Oblivion and tapped his finger on an inconspicuous spot.

That was an ancient ruin surrounded by mountains, easy to defend and difficult to attack, and with chaotic divine power signals, it was an excellent hiding place.

One hour later, in the dilapidated ruins of a temple.

Chen Mo arrived first, followed by a man and a woman.

The man was from Haifeng City and possessed the high-speed "Windwalker" civilization, skilled in reconnaissance. The woman was from Luoyun City and was of the rare healing-type "Moonlight Priestess" civilization, capable of restoring energy for divine kingdom units.

They were all driven to the brink by the Hunter Alliance, and after receiving Chen Mo's message, they had rushed over with the mindset of treating a dead horse as a living one.

The three of them looked around vigilantly, the atmosphere somewhat heavy.

Just then, a figure walked out from the shadows of the temple like a ghost; it was Jiang Xun.

There was not a shred of divine power fluctuation on him, just like an ordinary student, but those calm eyes made the three top talents present feel an inexplicable pressure.

"Is everyone here?" Jiang Xun asked indifferently.

"Brother Jiang Xun, with just the four of us, will it work?" Chen Mo asked somewhat uncertainly.

"Soldiers should be elite, not numerous." Jiang Xun didn't waste words and directly drew a simple tactical diagram on the ground with a branch. "The Windwalker is responsible for reconnaissance, mark the movements of all Hunter Alliance squads. Chen Mo, your Bulwark is our shield, responsible for frontal defense. The Moonlight Priestess provides support in the rear. And I..."

He looked up, a sharp light flashing in his eyes.

"Am responsible for the attack."

With just a few simple words, he perfectly combined the strengths of four different civilizations. The clear tactical deployment instantly calmed the three originally uneasy people.

They realized that the person in front of them not only possessed powerful strength but also possessed leadership talent they could only look up to.

"I have no objections. My life is already a wreck anyway, I'll take a gamble with Brother Jiang Xun!" the Windwalker youth was the first to express his stance.

"I'm listening to you." Chen Mo also nodded heavily.

Jiang Xun looked at them, a faint smile appearing at the corner of his mouth: "In that case, our temporary 'Avenger' alliance is now established."

Just then, the Windwalker youth responsible for reconnaissance suddenly changed his expression and said urgently: "It's bad! The intelligence I just intercepted shows that Li Wei is mobilizing all his people, driving all the scattered contestants on the map toward one direction!"

He projected a map in front of everyone, where the light points representing the Hunter Alliance formed a huge encirclement, and the end of the encirclement was, shockingly, a huge canyon with dangerous terrain.

Chen Mo gasped, blurting out: "This is... Wind-Erosion Canyon! They want to herd us in like livestock and wipe us out in one go!"
