7: Chapter 7 Li Ang's Killer Move
"I will let you know the insurmountable gap between an E-Rank piece of trash and an A-Rank Prodigy."
Li Ang's voice was like steel needles quenched in ice, carrying extreme malice and arrogance as it echoed over the deathly silent Assessment Field. The thick Death Qi behind him caused the surrounding air to drop several degrees, and the students nearby even felt their Divine Souls trembling slightly.
The whole audience was in an uproar.
All eyes were focused on this small duel zone, and the atmosphere was tense to the extreme.
One was a mysterious dark horse who had swept through three rounds, rising strongly in an incredible manner.
The other was a top Prodigy with a deep background and an A-Rank Talent, hailed as the number one person in Jiangcheng No. 3 High School.
This duel would not only determine who entered the final but was also a collision of dignity and class.
"They finally matched up! There's going to be a good show to watch!"
"A good show? You're rooting for that Jiang Xun? Don't be ridiculous. What kind of trash did he face before? In front of Young Master Li's true Silver Rank civilization, those little tricks of his aren't even worth looking at."
"Exactly. Young Master Li's Divine Kingdom has already completed the initial construction of its Unit system. Just the black iron rank skeleton sea is enough to exhaust Jiang Xun's thirty believers. Not to mention, Young Master Li is definitely hiding a trump card."
Amidst the discussions of the crowd, the vast majority still did not favor Jiang Xun. The previous shock seemed like mere luck in the face of absolute hard power like an A-Rank Talent and a Silver Rank civilization.
On the podium, the principal's eternally unchanging smiling face gained a hint of solemnity. He turned to the Director beside him and asked seemingly casually, "Has Jiang Xun's information been verified?"
"It's been verified three times, Principal." The Director hurriedly bowed and replied, fine beads of sweat seeping from his forehead. "It is indeed an E-Rank Talent. His ancestors for three generations were all ordinary people, without any divine Bloodline, and no records of any fortuitous encounters can be found. That he could reach this stage is truly... inconceivable."
Hearing this, the principal asked no more, merely picking up his teacup and gazing deeply at the calm figure in the field, his thoughts unknown.
"The semi-finals officially begin!"
With the Proctor's command, the central main light screen was split in two.
On the left was Li Ang's Land of the Undead, emitting a thick Death Qi. On the black scorched earth, countless pale mounds stood tall. Thousands of Skeleton Soldiers holding bone blades crawled out of their graves, converging into a boundless sea of bones. The eerie Soul fires connected into a single expanse, making one's scalp tingle.
On the right, Jiang Xun's Divine Kingdom had begun to take shape after several rounds of plundering. Stone walls surrounded a small town, black smoke rose from the forge, and the herb garden showed hints of green. Thirty Body Cultivators held black iron rank shields and wore rock-solid armor, quietly lining up in formation.
However, this flourishing scene still appeared so tiny in front of the massive undead kingdom opposite it, like a lone boat in a stormy sea.
A cruel and playful smile hung on Li Ang's face. He did not immediately drive his skeleton sea to charge as others had expected.
He wanted to completely destroy Jiang Xun's Dao Heart, to let him die in endless despair.
"Come forth, my most loyal servant!"
Li Ang spread his arms. At the core of the Divine Kingdom, an altar made of countless skulls suddenly exploded.
Boom!
A terrifying pressure far exceeding black iron rank and even surpassing Bronze Rank suddenly descended!
It was a three-meter-tall Undead Knight. It rode a warhorse also made of bones, its entire body covered in heavy Silver Rank bone armor engraved with dense, twisted runes, emitting an ominous black aura. In its hand, it held a lance burning with ghostly green flames. Just by standing there, its terrifying pressure caused the outer stone walls of Jiang Xun's Divine Kingdom to begin cracking inch by inch.
"Sil... Silver Rank!"
"My god! It's a Silver Rank Unit! Li Ang actually has a Silver Rank ace!"
The podium was in an uproar. A senior Proctor suddenly stood up and said angrily, "This is against the rules! In high school practical assessments, the highest allowed Unit is only at the Peak of Bronze Rank! Silver Rank power is enough to cause irreversible, permanent damage to the Divine Kingdom's core!"
However, the principal just gently set down his teacup and said indifferently, "Rules are dead, but people are alive. A Prodigy should naturally have the privilege of breaking rules. Let's keep watching."
The teacher's expression froze, and he could only sit back down indignantly.
Li Ang enjoyed the reverent gazes from the entire audience. He looked at Jiang Xun as if looking at a dead man.
"Jiang Xun, kneel down now and kowtow in surrender."
His voice was full of condescension.
"I can show mercy and leave your believers' bodies intact. Otherwise, my knight will grind them, along with your Divine Kingdom, into dust."
Facing this dimensional strike that could make any god despair, there was no panic on Jiang Xun's face.
His gaze, like the most precise scanner, swept back and forth over the Undead Knight. His memory bank from his past life was operating frantically.
Soon, his gaze fixed on those strange, twisted marks on the knight's armor.
That was not pure Undead Law.
That power, filled with an aura of corrosion and pollution, was more like... whispers of the Abyss.
A strange smile curled at the corners of Jiang Xun's mouth.
He pushed up his glasses, his eyes behind the lenses flashing with the excited light of someone dissecting prey.
"It's one thing for you to use someone else's power to act all high and mighty."
Jiang Xun's voice wasn't loud, but it clearly reached the entire audience.
"The problem is, you haven't even understood the instruction manual."
Li Ang's smile froze on his face.
Before he could react to the meaning of Jiang Xun's words, the Undead Knight had already received its final command.
"Kill!"
Roar!
The bone horse let out a silent roar, its four hooves stepping on air as it turned into a streak of silver lightning, trailing long ghostly fires, and launched a devastating charge toward the Faith Statue at the very core of Jiang Xun's Divine Kingdom.
Fast!
Too fast!
So fast that the audience in front of the light screen could only see an afterimage.
The terrifying pressure caused the entire Divine Kingdom Sandbox to tremble violently, as if it would collapse at any moment.
It's over.
These two words surfaced in everyone's minds.
Facing the full-force strike of a Silver Rank, that miracle of an E-Rank Talent would finally come to an end here.
However, just as the tip of the lance burning with ghostly fire was about to touch the Faith Statue at the critical moment.
Hundreds of blinding flashes of fire suddenly erupted within Jiang Xun's Divine Kingdom.
Those traps buried deep underground, crafted with Orc Forging Techniques and reinforced with Rock-Solid Armor Runes, were fully activated at this moment!
"Lesson one."
Jiang Xun's voice echoed through the field via Divine Power, carrying a hint of cold mockery.
"Lessons from history are meant to be learned, not repeated."
