59: Chapter 59 The Ultimate Weapon: Apocalypse

When Jiang Xun's words, "Now, it's just us," spread through the public channel across the Realm of Oblivion and inside and outside the Nanjiang City arena, time seemed to stand still.

In the Wind-Eroded Canyon, the battlefield that had been filled with thunderous shouts just moments ago fell silent; only the embers from the Divine Arts explosions drifted in the wind, and electric sparks occasionally flickered on the broken Mechanical Golems.

All members of the Hunter Alliance, whether eliminated or lucky enough to survive, looked toward the young man standing atop the canyon with shocked and wary eyes; he wasn't particularly tall.

Outside the arena, before the massive broadcast screen, tens of thousands of spectators were dead silent.

The commentator's mouth hung open, and it took a long while before he dryly squeezed out a few words: "An unbelievable comeback... Jiang Xun has dismantled the strongest group in the group stages, the Hunter Alliance, all by himself."

In the VIP seats, Xu Qingran's tightly clenched fists finally relaxed. She let out a long breath, her face filled with excitement and pride. Old Baitou stroked his beard, his eyes brightening as he chuckled softly, "The good show is only just beginning."

Only Deputy Chief Referee Sun Zhiyuan, his face wearing a fake smile, looked terrifyingly gloomy at this moment. He stared fixedly at Jiang Xun's figure on the screen, the malice and killing intent in his eyes no longer concealable.

But this silence was soon broken by a burst of uncontrollable laughter.

"Haha... Hahahaha!"

Li Wei stood at the other end of the canyon. His combat suit was damaged, and his once neatly combed hair was a mess. Li Wei pointed at Jiang Xun, laughing uncontrollably, his eyes bloodshot.

"Good, very good! Jiang Xun! You have indeed exceeded my expectations. You've successfully enraged me!"

"Do you think it's over? Do you think you can beat me with a ragtag bunch and a bit of cleverness?"

Li Wei's voice was hoarse and sharp, filled with resentment and anger.

"You don't understand at all what an S-rank Civilization is! You don't understand what true power is!"

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly looked up and roared, activating his God Kingdom's Origin without reservation.

"Come forth! My ultimate weapon! God Kingdom Armament, Apocalypse!"

Rumble!

The entire Wind-Eroded Canyon began to vibrate violently, as if something massive was about to burst out from deep underground.

Under everyone's gaze, the ground beneath Li Wei's feet suddenly cracked open, and countless massive metal structures rose from the earth. They flickered with complex blue energy patterns, rapidly snapping together, combining, and transforming in mid-air.

This was constructing on the spot using the Laws of the God Kingdom directly!

Within a mere dozen seconds, a giant war machine over fifty meters tall, looking like a mobile fortress, appeared in the canyon.

It was built entirely of dark gold alloy, with six thick mechanical limbs supporting its massive upper body. Its main structure was covered in missile launch bays, close-in weapon System turrets, and rapid-fire energy cannons. Most eye-catching was the staggering caliber of the main cannon on its right arm; the energy light gathering at the muzzle made the surrounding air shimmer with heat.

This was one of the ultimate forms of an S-rank Mechanical Civilization: God Kingdom Armament, the Apocalypse Tank!

"My god..." the commentator's voice was trembling, "Is... is this Li Wei's true trump card? An ultimate war weapon formed by concentrating the entire power of the God Kingdom! This isn't a God Kingdom battle; it's a disaster!"

The spectators were even more suppressed by this Aura, rendered speechless. Those who had just thought Jiang Xun had the victory in his grasp now had only one thought in their minds: How can he even fight this?

"Jiang Xun, die!"

Li Wei's figure had already merged into the core cockpit of the Apocalypse Tank. His roar echoed across the battlefield through loudspeakers. The Apocalypse Tank's right-arm main cannon suddenly lifted, aiming at the sea of undead Jiang Xun had previously deployed in the swamp area.

A thick pillar of energy erupted instantly!

There was no earth-shattering explosion, only a blinding white light. When the white light dissipated, the swamp that had once troubled the Hunter Alliance, along with thousands of Undead Skeletons within it, had been completely erased from the map along with a large swath of land, leaving only a bottomless, glass-edged crater.

Jiang Xun's brow furrowed tightly. From that strike just now, he clearly felt a large chunk of his God Kingdom's Origin reserves being forcibly evaporated.

His Orc Infantry and remaining undead units charged fearlessly toward the Apocalypse Tank. However, those battle-axes and bone spears capable of tearing through steel struck a pale blue energy shield on the surface of the Apocalypse Tank, only creating ripples without leaving a single scratch.

Instead, the close-in weapon System turrets on the Apocalypse Tank fired automatically, weaving a net of fire that tore all units that got close into fragments within seconds.

This was pure power suppression!

"It's useless, Jiang Xun!" Li Wei's triumphant voice echoed in the canyon. "Before the Apocalypse, those stitched-together pieces of trash of yours aren't even worthy of scratching my itch!"

Jiang Xun ignored Li Wei's blustering, his mind racing. Countless data streams flashed before his eyes as he analyzed the Apocalypse Tank's energy shield strength, weapon System cooldowns, and movement patterns.

But the conclusion he reached was not optimistic.

With the unit strength he had currently shown, he simply could not break through this turtle shell; he would only be ground down by the opponent's endless gunfire.

"I must have power that can break the rules!"

Jiang Xun's gaze suddenly turned cold. Under the terrifying fire suppression of the Apocalypse Tank, his spirit was pushed to its limit.

And under this extreme pressure, his SSS-rank talent, [Civilization Plunder and Fusion], seemed to break through a certain barrier, and a new understanding rapidly took shape in his mind.

His previous understanding of Fusion was still at the level of simple stacking—for example, an undead body plus orc strength, then adding dwarven runes.

But at this moment, he suddenly understood that true Fusion is creation.

It was about using the Laws of one civilization as a skeleton and filling in the Laws of other civilizations to create an entirely new unit possessing temporary pseudo-Laws!

"So... that's how it is!"

Jiang Xun's eyes suddenly lit up.

Jiang Xun no longer hesitated. With a Divine Thought, he forcibly extracted all the civilization Law fragments he had plundered in his God Kingdom—including the newly acquired energy shield generation, as well as Orcish Berserk, Dwarven Fortitude, and Undead Stillness—and injected them into his core units: the dozens of Human Heroic Spirits he hadn't used yet!

Buzz!

Those dozens of Human Heroic Spirits, holding spears and shields and clad in tattered ancient armor, shuddered violently.

Bright patterns woven from multiple civilization runes began to surface on their bodies, and golden flames ignited in their calm eyes. A powerful Aura rose from them.

They gained temporary Law Immunity and True Damage properties!

"Go!"

With Jiang Xun's command, those dozens of Human Heroic Spirits turned into streaks of golden light. Ignoring the Apocalypse Tank's energy shield, they passed right through it, and their bone spears stabbed fiercely into the Apocalypse Tank's dark gold armor!

Clang! Clang! Clang!

A series of ear-piercing metallic clangs rang out, sparks flying everywhere!

This time, clear dents finally appeared on the Apocalypse Tank's solid armor!

"What?" Li Wei cried out in shock. "How is this possible! How could they penetrate my Phase Energy Shield?"

The empowered Human Heroic Spirits clung to the Apocalypse Tank's massive body, attacking frantically. They were agile, constantly dodging the close-in weapon System's fire, their spears repeatedly leaving damage on the same spot.

Li Wei was suddenly thrown into a panic. He controlled the Apocalypse Tank to fire its main cannon frantically and saturate the area with missiles, but the Human Heroic Spirits were too fast and their targets too small; the destruction caused far outweighed the results.

The terrain of the canyon was reshaped again and again under the Apocalypse Tank's attacks, with peaks collapsing and the ground splitting open.

Jiang Xun hovered in mid-air, staring at the battlefield. His brain was still running at high speed, analyzing every movement of the Apocalypse Tank and every flow of energy.

Just as Li Wei recklessly pushed the main cannon to fire a shot at maximum power, Jiang Xun's pupils suddenly constricted!

He saw it!

At the very instant after the main cannon fired, a minute energy fluctuation appeared in the Core Energy Converter at the Apocalypse Tank's chest. Its phase shield experienced a lag and weakening for a ten-thousandth of a second!

That was the flaw, and the only opportunity!

Jiang Xun took a breath, holding nothing back.

He drained all the remaining Origin of his God Kingdom, and even his Mental Energy for commanding the Heroic Spirits was exhausted.

All his power and God Kingdom Origin gathered on the bone spear he condensed out of thin air in his hand. On the tip of the spear, golden flames burned fiercely.

The target was that fleeting flaw of a ten-thousandth of a second!
