171: Chapter 171 Resurrected Relatives

Gao Yuan took out the box containing the four-dimensional neutron.

"Do you all see the box in my hand?"

The scientists below looked on expectantly; it was another box—what could be inside?

Gao Yuan's expression was solemn.

"Who knows about four-dimensional space?"

Monroe was recognized worldwide as the leading figure in space physics research, so everyone turned to look at him.

Monroe said, "Four-dimensional space refers to standard Euclidean space. The fourth dimension in four-dimensional space refers to a spatial dimension of the same nature as x, y, and z. Many speculate that the universe is actually a four-dimensional space, and the celestial bodies we observe now might not be real, but perhaps just their three-dimensional projections!"

"A hundred years ago, the mathematician Jimmy proposed a concept: the universe is actually constantly increasing in dimensions. During the singularity period, the universe was zero-dimensional! The extension of the singularity formed a brief one-dimensional state. After the explosion, cosmic matter spread across an ecliptic plane; in that world, the universe was two-dimensional! As celestial bodies formed, the universe moved towards three dimensions! Now, with different galaxies overlapping and the universe constantly expanding, it has theoretically entered a four-dimensional period!"

"Moreover, Jimmy also proposed an equation at the time to represent multi-dimensional space nodes!"

Some of the other scientists knew about this.

However, Gao Yuan didn't understand a thing; everything he knew had been told to him by Gao Qiu and Su Dai.

Gao Yuan cleared his throat and continued, "The scientific community's understanding of four-dimensional space consists of inferences and guesses because we cannot observe it. But now, in this box of mine, there is a neutron from four-dimensional space... Whether we can unlock the mysteries of four-dimensional space and break the curse of faster-than-light travel depends on all of you!"

Gao Yuan held up the box.

The scientists' gazes were all focused on the box in his hand.

Their expressions were like those of starving people seeing bread.

Wheeler, no longer caring about anything else, began to walk forward.

Meanwhile, Monroe practically flew, rushing to Gao Yuan. He stared at the box in his hand, wanting to look but not daring to reach out, as if afraid of disturbing the neutron inside.

"President Gao, is there really a four-dimensional neutron inside?"

"Of course!"

"How was it confined inside?"

Gao Yuan shook his head. "I'm not sure either!"

Monroe understood; this neutron must also have come from a higher civilization.

Gao Yuan said with a look of reverence, "The fate of humanity is in your hands. I will leave this neutron, as well as that box of dark matter, to you!"

"Whether we can leave the Solar System depends on you!"

Gao Yuan handed the dark matter to Wheeler and the neutron to Monroe.

The two of them took them and bowed solemnly to Gao Yuan.

Gao Yuan turned to look at a Xia scientist; he was Wang Moquan, the director of the Space Physics Laboratory of the Xia Academy of Sciences!

Gao Yuan went to his side. "Director Wang, you will still be in charge of the research institute! Regardless of whether there are results, you must never leak anything to the outside. Furthermore, do not conduct any spatial experiments until you are absolutely certain!"

Wang Moquan nodded solemnly.

"Rest assured, President Gao, I understand!"

"I'll leave this place to you then. Whether humanity's future is as test subjects or as masters of our own fate depends on you!"

...

Gao Yuan left the Space Physics Laboratory!

He arrived at the Industrial Park, which was a scene of bustling activity.

Gao Yuan saw Zhang Baiyi. "Where is Lin Mei?"

"Sister Lin hasn't eaten or drunk for several days. That massacre was too tragic. Even though you've already taken revenge, well, sigh..."

Gao Yuan pulled Zhang Baiyi along. "Come, I'll show you something!"

"See what?"

Gao Yuan arrived at the robot production workshop. The custom-made victim robots inside were already finished. Memories extracted and analyzed from brain cells had been implanted; now, those memories just needed to be activated.

Gao Yuan pointed at the robots. "Look at them..."

Zhang Baiyi hadn't paid much attention at first—weren't they just robots? But after seeing the faces of those people, he suddenly let out a strange cry.

"Ah! Ghosts!"

He wanted to run after shouting.

Gao Yuan grabbed him.

"What are you running for?"

"Ghosts!"

"What are you screaming about? These are robots! You know that!"

Zhang Baiyi looked aggrieved. "No, Old Gao, have they been resurrected?"

"The dead cannot be brought back to life!"

"Oh, so they're custom robots? These are far too realistic!"

Just as he finished speaking, the robot of Lin Mei's mother walked over and patted Zhang Baiyi. "Little Zhang, it's been a long time since you visited!"

Zhang Baiyi froze.

"You..."

"Don't recognize me? I'm Lin Mei's mother!"

"A-Auntie..."

"It's me. I'm going home now. Xiao Mei will be off work soon, and she'll need to eat!"

Zhang Baiyi stared blankly at the back of Lin Mei's mother's robot, his face contorted. "Old Gao, what the hell... what's going on?"

"I implanted Lin Mei's mother's memories!"

*Hiss...*

Zhang Baiyi's eyes nearly popped out of his head. "You mean that robot subconsciously believes she's human?"

"Yes. She can even eat normally now. There's a food extraction machine inside her body that can use the energy from food to generate electricity, providing the power for the robot's activities!"

"So you're saying she can eat and sleep just like a normal person?"

"Yes... this is my compensation to the residents of Muza. These people will soon return to their homes, but you'll need to give them a heads-up beforehand to avoid causing a panic!"

Remembering his own expression when he first saw the robots' faces, Zhang Baiyi immediately felt it would be best to call ahead, otherwise it would be too late.

...

Lin Mei lay on her bed. The house was empty. When her mother was seriously ill, she had thought she was going to lose her. Later, Gao Yuan gave her the Life-Sustaining Base Fluid, which rekindled hope in Lin Mei's heart, but then, suddenly, her mother was gone.

She felt as though life had lost its meaning.

Just then, her wrist machine notified her of an incoming call.

It was Zhang Baiyi. Lin Mei answered.

Zhang Baiyi's figure appeared before her. "Xiao Mei, listen to me. Gao Yuan has resurrected the people who were unfortunate enough to be in the last explosion, including your mother. She'll be home very soon!"

Lin Mei sat up immediately.

Reason told her it was impossible, but because it involved Gao Yuan, she was willing to believe. Lin Mei looked out the window expectantly!

Until a figure appeared outside the door! Her tears fell instantly!

It was her; her mother had returned.

She ran outside. Her mother familiarly entered the code on the keypad lock and walked into the yard.

Seeing Lin Mei running out, her mother chided her, "This child, so reckless. Why are you running so fast? And why are you crying?"

Lin Mei looked her mother up and down, then reached out to touch her face.

It felt so real.

She finally couldn't hold it back anymore and burst into tears. "Mom, you're really back?"

"Stop crying. What do you want to eat for lunch?"
