85: Chapter 85 Gao Yuan, You Schemed Against Me

The more Li Bingxi read, the more alarmed he became...

Although many comments didn't know what it was and assumed it was just an ordinary wristband, there were quite a few comments that were clearly looking forward to the wrist machine...

Moreover, several keywords were mentioned: holographic projection, chat, social networking, and gaming!

Except for that holographic projection, the other functions seemed to overlap with current smartphones!

Feeling very uneasy, he immediately got up and called for his assistant.

Holding the photo of the wrist machine, he asked, "Do you know about this?"

The assistant took a look and said, "Isn't this the wrist machine from Black Fish Technology? You even had us help them promote it before..."

"Yes, I'm asking, what functions does this thing have?"

The assistant paused, "President, I checked later, but there is no information on the Black Fish Technology official website, only photos and model numbers! However, netizens are calling it the next-generation communication and gaming artifact! But we certainly don't believe it, because current technology simply can't reach that level... And since you helped Black Fish Technology with the promotion, it definitely poses no threat to us! This is most likely just a gimmick, using a movie-inspired exterior to cash in on fans!"

Li Bingxi fell silent...

Gao Yuan had told him about it before, saying it was a smart wristband, but he hadn't paid any attention to it at the time.

Who knew what specific functions it had...

What if...

It really is epoch-making communication that can achieve 3D projection interactive communication?

If it could really be achieved...

Then smartphones would be like the brick phones of a dozen years ago—struggling would be useless; they would only face obsolescence.

Sweat began to bead on Li Bingxi's forehead...

He couldn't sleep...

He called for his chief technical advisor, and the two began to talk.

"Cui Jinze, have you heard of Black Fish Technology's wrist machine?"

Cui Jinze was Nine Stars' chief technical advisor. Li Bingxi had brought him along for this press conference in the Xia Kingdom. Cui Jinze was the keynote speaker and lead designer for the new product at this conference.

"wrist machine?"

Cui Jinze looked a bit puzzled.

Li Bingxi took out his phone and opened the photo...

"It's this!"

"Oh, this! I actually specifically looked into it. This thing looks a lot like previous wristbands, but its functions are unknown... I paid attention to it when President Li had the marketing department promote it earlier! Also, there's a very popular science fiction movie in the Xia Kingdom right now that features this, so I specifically sought out the movie to watch it..."

"So, do you think this poses a threat to our phones?"

Li Bingxi asked.

Cui Jinze pondered for a moment, "If it has the same functions as in the movie, then smartphones would have no ability to resist!"

Hearing this, Li Bingxi's expression darkened...

His eyes seemed to spit fire, "Gao Yuan, you backstabbed me..."

But Cui Jinze continued, "However, President Li, I have analyzed the technology in the movie. To be honest, with current technology, there is no possibility of it being realized! First, the holographic projection technology is not up to par. Second, the movie talks about brainwave control. Heh, while brain-computer interfaces exist now, claiming that wearing something on the wrist can achieve brainwave control is pure fantasy! Brain-computer interfaces require very complex technology and a very bulky helmet to intercept and analyze brainwaves!"

"I have never heard of achieving brainwave operation through the wrist; it's a paradox. You first need to sense the brainwaves to even have brainwaves! And as for holographic projection, current holographic projection requires a specially arranged venue to be achieved. Relying on a wristband... it's impossible!"

"These are the two most important technologies involved, and neither has any possibility of being realized at present... So I conclude that this thing is most likely just a more advanced wristband... Even if it integrates communication functions, it would just be a new type of telephone watch... It has almost no impact on us!"

Li Bingxi felt relieved...

He laughed at himself...

He was being too sensitive. 3D virtual communication, brainwave operation—he had actually believed it.

How could things from that kind of science fiction movie appear now?

Since Cui Jinze said it was impossible...

Then it was most likely impossible.

"Alright, Cui Jinze, get some rest early... Tomorrow depends on you!"

Li Bingxi slept very well that night and even had a dream.

In his dream, Nine Stars phones swept the globe, occupying 90% of the world market and becoming the veritable king of smartphones...

Relying on the phones to develop software... achieving gaming and social networking, Nine Stars became the company with the highest market value in the world, bar none!

Upon waking up in the morning, Li Bingxi was in high spirits...

He called for his assistant.

"Is the venue okay?"

"No problem, everything is ready. Invitations have been sent to the media... This time we partnered with the Qinjing Press, and they were the ones who extended the invitations to the media! We also invited many reviewers and big influencers in the digital world; the buzz is very high right now..."

Li Bingxi nodded with satisfaction...

"What about Black Fish Technology? Is there any news?"

"Nothing much. When they were decorating the venue, they bought too many green plants and even sent some over to us... Also, regarding the check-in desk outside, they discussed it with us; they moved their check-in desk three meters inward so that ours is the first one seen upon entering. The staff at Black Fish Technology are very nice..."

Li Bingxi sighed...

"Gao Yuan, if in the future... Black Fish Technology falls, I'll give you an executive position! Not bad, young man..."

Early in the morning, Gao Yuan was dragged by Zhang Baiyi from Muza to rush to Qinjing...

In the car, Gao Yuan was listless; there had been too many things to deal with these past few days...

"Old Zhang, damn you, it's past five o'clock... and you dragged me up! It doesn't matter if I go or not! You can just host it! Why drag me along..."

"Stop talking nonsense. This is a huge deal. This is the first product Black Fish Technology is publicly releasing; how can you, as the boss, not show up? The staff has been working hard for days... Old Gao, you hid that wrist machine well. Didn't you say before that it wouldn't be released for now? Why did you suddenly change your mind?"

"The timing wasn't right before..."

"Is it right now?" Zhang Baiyi asked...

"Mm..." Gao Yuan closed his eyes, not wanting to talk.

"Last night, I played with the wrist machine until after three... I only slept for two hours before getting up. How could you be more tired than me?"

Gao Yuan didn't even open his eyes...

"You don't understand, it's mental fatigue... I've planned too much! With you in Qinjing and Xu Lin in the United States, I can rest easy..."

"Rest easy my ass... Get hyped!"

Along the way, Zhang Baiyi kept talking to Gao Yuan...

For this trip to Qinjing, Gao Yuan took a private plane. For this press conference, almost the entire staff of the Linzhou office rushed to Qinjing to help, and even the staff from Salmon Film and Television were temporarily requisitioned...

At nine in the morning, Gao Yuan had arrived at the National Convention Center. Hearing that Gao Yuan had arrived, Li Bingxi came out specifically to welcome him.

"President Gao, I have admired you for a long time; we finally meet..."

"President Li, nice to meet you. The market in the United States owes much to you, President Li!"

"We are all friends; we help each other!"

"That's right... helping each other! I wish President Li great sales for the new product..." Gao Yuan, who had been listless just a moment ago, was now beaming with energy.

"Likewise, I wish Black Fish Technology great sales for the new product!"
