175: Chapter 174 Jian Wuhen Being Hunted
Several strands of Sword Intent swirled around Jian Wuhen's body as he continued to weave through the thick fog. Any lightning that occasionally struck was directly dispersed by the Sword Intent surrounding him.
But just as he was walking forward somewhat aimlessly, Jian Wuhen's scalp suddenly tingled, and an unprecedented sense of danger flashed through his heart.
Jian Wuhen's pupils contracted as he scanned his surroundings warily. He had never experienced that feeling from a moment ago before, but he absolutely trusted his judgment.
Without any hesitation, Jian Wuhen's figure instantly vanished from the spot.
"Something is wrong, something is very wrong here!"
Warning bells rang wildly in his heart. The feeling of being watched by something unknown was like a maggot in his bones, impossible to shake off. He began to fly forward at high speed, not even caring if doing so would trigger the thunderstorms within the dense fog.
Streaks of lightning were drawn by his Aura, crashing down and striking his body.
Jian Wuhen clenched his teeth, allowing the lightning to explode against him before being forcibly dispersed by the Sword Intent surging from within. Soon, his grey robes became somewhat charred, but his speed increased rather than decreased.
Fast! Even faster!
That feeling of danger was growing stronger and stronger, like a sharp sword hanging over his head, ready to fall at any moment.
What on earth is going on!?
Unknowingly, he had already gripped the iron sword on his back, ready to strike back against any sudden attack.
"Still not fast enough! I must be faster! I have to get closer to Venerable Miaodi and Brother Xia as quickly as possible. With them around, there shouldn't be any more danger."
Jian Wuhen gave a low shout, and the Sword Intent within his body erupted, instantly covering him in a brilliant sword light.
From a distance, he looked like a giant sword of light, piercing through the thick fog and hurtling forward.
The surrounding lightning was attracted by this violent movement, frantically attaching itself to the sword of light, sending sparks flying and thunder roaring.
This massive commotion even drew the attention of some nearby Temple Disciples. Several figures stood at a distance in the thick fog, watching with looks of alarm.
"Who is that? How bold, to dare to barge through this Thunder Pool like that!"
"Hmph! Probably another of those newly joined Temple Disciples. Otherwise, who would do something so reckless? Triggering a thunderstorm here... once enough lightning has accumulated, it will trigger a Nine Heavens Lightning Tribulation. He's practically looking for death!"
Just as those Temple Disciples were discussing it, Jian Wuhen suddenly felt a chill down his back.
Swoosh!
A dark shadow suddenly lunged out from the side, fast as lightning and with the momentum of a crashing thunderbolt.
Jian Wuhen's heart pounded wildly as he instinctively swung his iron sword horizontally in front of him to block.
Clang!
A deafening sound of metal clashing rang out, and sparks flew in all directions.
The immense force was like a mountain pressing down, smashing him directly out of the Void Realm. From afar, it looked as if a black iron staff had forcibly snapped the moving sword of light in half, sending it crashing to the ground.
Boom!
Jian Wuhen slammed heavily into the ground, creating a crater over a meter deep as dust filled the air.
"Who is it!!"
He quickly leaped out of the pit. Although he wasn't seriously injured, the Qi and blood in his body were churning like a tide and could not be calmed for a long time.
Jian Wuhen looked ahead coldly, his eyes filled with wariness. From that single contact just now, he had already realized that the opponent's strength was definitely not inferior to his own.
The visitor did not come with good intentions!
Sure enough, as the sound of footsteps echoed, a figure holding an iron staff slowly emerged from the thick fog.
It was a lean man with eyes full of sharp intelligence. He held the pitch-black iron staff in one hand, casually resting it on his shoulder, while radiating a suffocating sense of pressure.
Indeed, the newcomer was Tian Hong, who had just arrived.
"Were you the one who just injured my sixth brother?"
Tian Hong looked at Jian Wuhen coldly, his gaze like that of someone looking at a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
Jian Wuhen frowned: "Who is your sixth brother?"
As the words left his mouth, a flash of realization hit him, and his expression couldn't help but become a bit strange: "The sixth brother you're talking about... couldn't be that Cyclops who just lost to my sword, could it?"
"Exactly. Since you dared to injure him, there is only one path for you: death," Tian Hong said flatly, but the killing intent on him was completely uncontrollable, pressing directly toward Jian Wuhen.
Under that pressure, Jian Wuhen's legs sank several inches into the ground. However, he still gave a cold laugh, his tone carrying a hint of regret: "Hmph! He didn't die? What a pity. It seems I should have just killed him then!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the surrounding temperature seemed to drop several degrees.
Tian Hong's eyes suddenly became incredibly sharp. He didn't say another word—
He attacked.
The iron staff was like a black Dragon, scattering the thick fog and carrying an Aura capable of destroying heaven and earth as it smashed down toward Jian Wuhen's head.
Jian Wuhen's pupils shrank, but his voice remained defiant: "He was no match for me, what can you do to me even if you've come!?"
Despite his words, he didn't have the slightest bit of contempt in his heart. He knew very well that the newcomer was stronger than him, and not just by a little bit.
But he, Jian Wuhen, was never one to cower before a fight.
The Sword Intent within his body surged frantically as he directly executed another sword technique he had learned from the ancient animal skin scroll—the most powerful technique he currently mastered.
Thirteen Killing Swords!
With the first sword, killing intent froze the air.
With the second sword, the winds and clouds changed color.
With the third sword, heaven and earth lost their light!
Three sword lights were slashed out in succession, each one faster, fiercer, and more desperate than the last. This was the strongest killing move he had comprehended from the ancient animal skin scroll. He had intended to save it for a critical moment, but he could no longer care about that.
"Clang! Clang! Clang!"
Three loud bangs echoed as sparks flew everywhere.
Tian Hong's iron staff blocked the three strikes in succession. His body swayed slightly, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes: "A bit interesting."
But it was only just interesting.
The fourth strike.
With this strike, Tian Hong stopped testing him.
The iron staff fell, simple and direct, yet it seemed to carry the weight of the entire world.
Bang!
Just as Jian Wuhen's fourth sword was unleashed, it was shattered into pieces by this strike. The massive force traveled through the iron sword and throughout his entire body, and he was forcibly smashed into the ground. A mouthful of blood surged up his throat, which he forced himself to swallow.
But in the end, a trace of blood still leaked from the corner of his mouth.
Defeated.
He had lost.
"This guy is definitely in the Creation Realm! Otherwise, with my current strength at the ninth level of the Tongshen Realm, plus the Thirteen Killing Swords I just comprehended, no one below the Creation Realm could defeat me so easily!!" A flash of indignation crossed Jian Wuhen's eyes, but logic told him that if he continued to fight, he would surely die.
The only way now was to escape!
As long as he escaped this place and found Venerable Miaodi or Xia Jin, he would be safe.
Without any hesitation, he slammed a palm directly into the ground beneath him. The massive reactionary force sent him flying backward. At the same time, he waved his left hand, and dozens of streaks of Sword Qi shot out in all directions, churning the surrounding fog and triggering a sky full of thunderstorms.
"Trying to run?"
Tian Hong gave a cold laugh and swept his iron staff. The Sword Qi and the rolling thunderstorms were all shaken apart before they could even get close. However, that split second of delay was exactly what Jian Wuhen wanted.
His figure transformed into a sword light, hurtling toward the east without looking back.
"If I let you escape, I'll write my name, Tian Hong, backward!!"
