36: Chapter 36 Qingyun Sect, Expelled!
"Sect Master... The Sect Master is dead!!"
Suddenly, a scream shattered the silence.
A young Qingyun Sect Disciple's legs went weak, and he pointed in Xia Jin's direction, his face full of fear.
And at this sound, the hundreds of Qingyun Sect Disciples all began to retreat several steps backward in unison.
On the high platform, the expressions of several Qingyun Sect Elders were extremely ugly; after glancing at each other, their gazes all involuntarily turned towards the Grand Elder standing at the very front.
The Second Elder clutched his chest and asked in a low voice: "Grand Elder... what should we do next?"
A trace of fear flashed in the Fifth Elder's eyes, and he gritted his teeth: "How about we take advantage of the fact that that brat isn't paying attention to us yet... and run! With so many people scattering in all directions, he's just one person; surely he can't catch up and kill all of us, right?"
"You idiot!" The Second Elder endured the intense pain and glared at him fiercely.
"If we followed your method, ordinary Disciples might still have a glimmer of hope! But we are Qingyun Sect Elders! Do you think that brat will let us go?"
"Then what do you propose we do!!" The Fifth Elder's expression was ugly.
A sharp glint flashed in the Second Elder's eyes: "Instead of running and being killed, why not... surrender! As for the Qingyun Sect Master, does it matter who takes the position? As long as we can survive, what does it matter if we hand over the Sect!"
Once these words were spoken, the eyes of the several Qingyun Sect Elders began to flicker violently.
That's right, as for the Qingyun Sect Master, does it matter who takes the position?
The group looked towards the Grand Elder again, waiting for his decision.
The Grand Elder's expression shifted uncertainly. After a moment of silence, he finally gritted his teeth and nodded heavily: "Fine, we surrender... Let's go!"
Led by the Grand Elder, under the watchful eyes of hundreds of Qingyun Sect Disciples, they walked quickly towards Xia Jin.
When they were still three zhang away from Xia Jin, the group stopped simultaneously and then respectfully bowed to him.
"My Lord's Divine Might is peerless. Ling Shanxiao offended you and deserved to die."
"Our Qingyun Sect... is willing to submit the entire Sect under your command! We only beg for your mercy, my Lord, and to grant us a way to survive!"
The Grand Elder's gaze landed on Xia Jin, his voice somewhat dry.
After hearing the Grand Elder's words, the smile on Xia Jin's face grew even thicker: "Let this Prince think about it; are your words true?"
The Second Elder hurriedly put on a fawning expression: "Rest assured, my Lord! We are willing to honor you as the new Qingyun Sect Master and from now on, we will follow your lead in everything!"
As he spoke, he quickly winked at the surrounding Qingyun Sect Disciples.
The Disciples who could stand here were not too stupid. Under the Second Elder's hint, not knowing who started it, a whole crowd of hundreds of Qingyun Sect Disciples knelt on one knee in Xia Jin's direction, shouting chaotically:
"The Qingyun Sect is willing to honor you as Sect Master!"
"We will follow your lead!"
Xia Jin looked at the scene of the kneeling crowd before him and suddenly burst into laughter: "Hahahaha... Good, very good. Since you are all so sensible, then this Prince will give you a chance... a chance to die quickly!"
No one saw Xia Jin's movements clearly. They only saw his left hand casually draw from the bottom of the black coffin beside him, a dark, gloomy light flashed, and a long blade was already in his hand.
The next moment, his figure seemed to blur.
A faint, pitch-black blade aura flashed directly across the waists of the several Qingyun Sect Elders.
"Shhh—"
After a soft sound, the upper and lower bodies of the several Elders were split into two.
Silence.
Deathly silence.
All the half-kneeling Qingyun Sect Disciples widened their eyes, mouths agape, but could not make a sound. After a few breaths, someone finally broke down.
"Run—!!"
Not knowing who screamed this at the top of their lungs, hundreds of Disciples, like ants in a disturbed nest, pushed and shoved as they fled for their lives in all directions.
Xia Jin looked at the chaotic crowd and shook his head.
"Today, none of you will leave. The Qingyun Sect... should become a thing of the past."
As soon as his words fell, his figure began to slowly leave the ground, hovering upwards.
He gripped the hilt of the blade with both hands and raised it high above his head.
"Three Blades of the Avici Path, Third Blade—"
"Hell Break!"
A red blade light, as if coming from the depths of the Nine Underworlds, erupted from his blade tip. With him as the center, it swept across the entire Qingyun Sect mountain gate in a perfect circle!
That red light was not blinding; instead, it carried a demonic beauty that instantly illuminated every corner of the Qingyun Sect.
Those fleeing Qingyun Sect Disciples, no matter how far they had run, no matter if they were hiding behind pillars or giant rocks, the moment that red light swept past, their movements all froze.
The red light dissipated, and Xia Jin's figure slowly landed on the ground.
He scanned his surroundings expressionlessly, turned around, and walked directly towards the outside of the Qingyun Sect mountain gate.
And at this moment, outside the Qingyun Sect mountain gate,
Over a hundred figures in black were respectfully kneeling on the ground. The black-clad commander at the lead, upon seeing Xia Jin's figure, respectfully shouted: "Your Highness!"
Xia Jin waved his hand.
"Take everything useful inside, Medicinal Pills, classics... anything that can be moved, transport it all back to Great Xia tonight. Then..." He paused, looked back at the outline of the Qingyun Sect mountain gate, "Burn this place down!"
"As you command, Your Highness!" The black-clad commander accepted the order without hesitation.
Xia Jin said no more, his figure flickered, and he vanished from everyone's sight.
After Xia Jin left, the black-clad commander led his subordinates and rushed into the Qingyun Sect mountain gate.
However, the scene before them made them all gasp.
The expected mountain of corpses and sea of blood did not appear.
Instead, the corpses of the Qingyun Sect Disciples scattered everywhere all had wide-open eyes with dilated pupils, still containing a trace of fear; it was unknown what kind of great terror they had seen at the final moment of their lives.
Everyone, without exception, had no external injuries, and all traces of life were gone.
Except for those few Elders who had been cut in half, the entire Qingyun Sect could not find any other obvious bloodstains.
"This... this is..." A man in black, gripping his Embroidered Spring Blade, couldn't help but tremble slightly in his right hand.
The black-clad leader was the same, but after all, he still remembered his duty at all times. After just a few breaths, he suddenly snapped back to his senses.
Is this the time to be shocked?
"What are you all standing there for! Hurry up, follow His Highness's orders, loot all the resources of the Qingyun Sect, quickly!"
At his command, the remaining men in black surged towards the various rooms of the Qingyun Sect.
About an hour later, outside the Qingyun Sect mountain gate, more than thirty carriages were packed full and covered with thick tarpaulins. Under the escort of those men in black, they soon left the Qingyun Sect's area.
"Hmph! This Qingyun Sect actually dared to threaten our Great Xia! Today, I'll burn your entire mountain gate down!"
After the carriages left, another hour passed before the black-clad leader emerged from the shadows, looking at the incredibly quiet Qingyun Sect mountain gate with a cold sneer.
He then directly lit an arrow soaked in kerosene, drew his bow, and nocked the arrow.
"Shoo—"
Flames soared into the sky, the fire growing larger and larger, quickly swallowing the Qingyun Sect completely.
Qingyun Sect, from this point on, was erased.
