68: Chapter 68 Old man, have you ever seen thunder in broad daylight?

Xia Jin's gaze bypassed The Old Man in White and looked toward the retreating figure of The Sixth Prince, who was fleeing in a panic. He suddenly grinned and asked with a smile, "Old man, have you ever seen thunder on a sunny day?"

"What?"

The Old Man in White was stunned. Xia Jin's nonsensical question caused him a moment of bewilderment in such a tense situation.

Thunder? Although the sky looked somewhat gloomy now, no thick clouds had gathered. Where would thunder come from?

"It seems you don't believe me? It doesn't matter. Watch closely in a moment!"

Xia Jin casually raised his right hand and pointed toward the sky above.

Boom! Rumble!!!

Suddenly, a terrifying roar of thunder exploded in the sky!

Immediately following that, a pillar of silver lightning, as thick as a washbasin, struck directly down at the frantically fleeing Sixth Prince.

"How is this possible? It's really thundering? No... no... Your Highness!!" The Old Man in White felt the sky suddenly brighten, then finally realized something and spun around to look behind him.

But by the time he saw it, only a massive, charred, and smoking crater remained in the distance. Along the edges of the pit, tiny snakes of electricity flickered, making faint "zizzing" sounds.

As for The Sixth Prince?

Forget bones; not even a fragment of clothing remained. He had been completely erased from this world.

Xia Jin withdrew his hand and looked at the back of The Old Man in White, whose entire body was trembling uncontrollably. He even gave a rather "apologetic" smile.

"Look at that, look at that. It's all this Prince's fault for not controlling my strength... I seem to have struck a bit too hard and accidentally smashed your Six... right, The Sixth Prince, until not even a speck of dust was left. If you want to collect his remains, I'm afraid you'll have to use a shovel to scoop back all the dirt in that pit."

"But, it doesn't matter!" As he spoke, Xia Jin deliberately scanned the surroundings, then kicked a large saber on the ground over to the other man. "Here! This Prince took a look and realized a shovel might be hard to find. Come, this saber is yours for free. It might even be faster for digging!"

"Bastard!! You... you... you actually dared to... kill His Highness!!!"

The Old Man in White's unventable rage caused his eyes to turn blood-red in an instant. No matter how arrogant and overbearing The Sixth Prince had been, he had watched him grow up since childhood.

Having no children of his own, he had long regarded The Sixth Prince as his own flesh and blood! Xia Jin's actions were practically cutting off his lineage!

The True Qi of a seventh-level Spirit Wandering Realm erupted recklessly. Streaks of Sword Intent overflowed wildly from his body, leaving bottomless sword marks on the surrounding ruins.

"Boy, this old man wants your life in exchange! Give me your life!!"

In his heart, only a mad obsession to perish together with Xia Jin remained.

Strands of Sword Qi rotated rapidly around his body. Suddenly, a dazzling white light flared up as he transformed into a white rainbow, becoming a sword himself to pierce fiercely toward Xia Jin!

"Transforming the body into a sword? This old fellow actually has some skill in the way of the sword." Xia Jin watched the white rainbow approaching him with a hint of surprise in his eyes, but then he shook his head. "A pity. Meeting this Prince, I will crush whatever Dao you have!"

Bang!

The Old Man in White's two fingers stabbed toward Xia Jin's neck, but Xia Jin remained with his hands behind his back, motionless. Even the skin on his neck did not indent in the slightest.

Instead, a terrifying counter-shock force surged directly toward The Old Man in White!

Crack!

The crisp sound of bone fracturing rang out. The Old Man in White's right arm shattered and twisted out of shape in an instant! The intense pain caused his old face to turn pale immediately.

"An ant trying to shake a tree," Xia Jin said indifferently. He casually raised his left hand and struck forward with a light, effortless palm strike, hitting the other's chest.

Pfft—!

The Old Man in White's chest instantly caved in, his eyes bulged, and he sprayed out a mouthful of blood mixed with fragments of internal organs. Immediately after, his body was sent flying several hundred meters by this single palm strike. His aura vanished; he was dead.

Xia Jin withdrew his palm, turned to look at Leng Yuexi, who had been staring at him from not far away, and a smile appeared on his face.

"Husband!"

A purple shadow flashed as Leng Yuexi suddenly rushed over, throwing herself into Xia Jin's arms. Her arms tightly encircled his waist as she buried her face deep into his chest.

"This time... this time it's all thanks to you, husband." Her voice carried a hint of coyness. "If you hadn't arrived in time, I... I'm afraid I would never have seen you again."

As she spoke, her tears unconsciously began to flow.

"But, the Xuanyin Sect... it's gone... those Elders, Disciples... so many people... they're all gone..."

Xia Jin remained silent, letting Leng Yuexi cry and vent her emotions, only gently patting her back with his hand.

After a good while, Leng Yuexi's crying gradually subsided. She pulled back slightly, messily wiping the tear stains from her face with the back of her hand. Her eyes and the tip of her nose were all red.

Suddenly, as if remembering something, she looked up at Xia Jin with tearful eyes. "By the way, husband, Rou'er's Father... he doesn't seem to be here."

Xia Jin glanced at the sky and pondered, "Currently, it hasn't even been three days since you left the Fenglin Imperial Palace. I suspect the people sent by that Sixth Prince have not yet arrived here. We shall just wait here..."

"Mhm." Leng Yuexi nodded, then leaned her head on Xia Jin's shoulder, silently looking at the now-transformed Xuanyin Sect. A hint of sorrow flashed in her eyes.

...

The next day, not long after dawn, the sound of rolling wheels gradually approached from afar.

A carriage slowly came to a stop before the mountain gate of the Xuanyin Sect.

At the same time, Xia Jin slowly opened his eyes from his meditation and looked toward the mountain gate.

Leng Yuexi also instantly tensed her body and whispered, "They're here."

"Your Highness! I have brought the person!"

Guan Heng's voice, tinged with a tone of seeking credit, came from the direction of the mountain gate.

Following that, he was seen walking in with large strides, carrying the unconscious Jiang Qianjue on his shoulder.

Just as he stepped into the mountain gate and saw the corpses of the Xuanyin Sect Disciples everywhere, Guan Heng was first stunned, then his lips curled into a sneer of ridicule. "Hmph! You people of the Xuanyin Sect, being noticed by His Highness The Sixth Prince is considered your good fortune!"

"Your Highness? Mr. Yun?" Guan Heng glanced around and called out several more times.

However, no one answered.

"What's going on?" He couldn't help but frown, a faint sense of unease rising in his heart.

Guan Heng threw Jiang Qianjue off his shoulder onto the ground with a thud, like tossing trash. He then began to walk toward the main hall ahead.

The very instant he took his second step.

Suddenly, a chill surged up from the base of his spine!

Someone! There was someone behind him!

Guan Heng's muscles suddenly tensed. He gripped the hilt of the saber at his waist, abruptly drew the large blade, and spun around to look behind him!

Then, he saw two figures looking at him coldly.

It was precisely Xia Jin and Leng Yuexi!

In that instant, Guan Heng's scalp went numb. Leng Yuexi, the target The Sixth Prince was determined to obtain, was now standing right in front of him! Then wouldn't The Sixth Prince and the others...

"You... you..."

Guan Heng pointed his finger at Xia Jin and Leng Yuexi, his body involuntarily retreating a few steps.

"Leng Yuexi?! The Sixth Prince... tell me, where is The Sixth Prince and his group?"
