Chapter 205: Half the Price at the Opening
"President Zheng, there are over three hundred entertainment venues in all of Yezhou. I know quite a few of their owners, and I know people outside of Yezhou as well."
"If our two parties partner up to build this brand, I can have my four breweries running at full capacity, 24 hours a day with three shifts, producing Xunnidi non-stop. I guarantee that within six months, we will break into the surrounding provinces."
"How much do you want?"
The world is bustling, all for the sake of profit. The halls of power are filled with sycophants, all for the sake of fame. Pei Jingguang was so eager to seek him out for both profit and fame. Never underestimate the prospects of Xunnidi.
"Hehe, I don't want much." Pei Jingguang held out a hand, palm open, in front of Zheng Qian.
"Fifty percent?" Pei Jingguang gave a wicked smile.
"Is Boss Pei cracking jokes with me here?"
"I can do all those things you mentioned myself."
The patent is mine, the technology is mine, and the brand is mine. You have a few breweries, and you dare to ask for 50% right off the bat? You might as well just go rob someone!
"President Zheng, you don't understand."
"My sales channels are extremely extensive, wider than you can imagine."
"Since I dare to ask for 50%, I will certainly put in 50% of the effort, wouldn't you agree?"
"Oh? Then tell me, what kind of effort can you put in?"
"First of all, the three hundred plus entertainment venues in Yezhou are basically all owned by the Cui Family, the Pan Family, and the Zuo Family. I have decades-old friendships with them. As long as I push it, they will place orders immediately."
"Secondly, there are only four breweries in all of Yezhou, and they are all under my name."
"Finally, if you don't have me, no matter how good the wine is, it won't take off, hahaha."
Pei Jingguang said this with a smile, but it carried a heavy hint of a threat. Seeing how confident he was, Zheng Qian understood immediately. So, Pei Jingguang was a well-connected individual.
"Threatening me?" Zheng Qian glanced coldly at Pei Jingguang.
"No, no, no, President Zheng. You are the chairman of Qianhe Group, with a net worth of over a billion. Who would dare threaten you?" Pei Jingguang hurriedly explained.
He just wanted to make Zheng Qian understand that partnering with him was the best choice. Asking for 50% wasn't much. There were others begging to give him money whom Pei Jingguang hadn't even agreed to work with.
"I can do these things myself," Zheng Qian said coldly.
Setting up a brewery was very simple; you just needed to hire some masters and bring in a few machines, and you could start production. How hard could it be?
Pei Jingguang chuckled at this moment: "President Zheng, I'm afraid you don't know Yezhou that well yet. Let me explain it to you."
The regulations in Yezhou are a bit special. The province only issued four brewery operating licenses. In other words, even if you build a brewery, without an operating license, you still can't start production.
Pei Jingguang's implication was that these four operating licenses were all in his hands, creating a monopoly.
"I know you have the capability, but with my help, Xunnidi will be promoted much faster."
Zheng Qian shook his head and decisively rejected Pei Jingguang.
"Boss Pei, haven't you ever heard the saying: 'Good wine doesn't need to fear a deep alley'?"
"Since you were able to proactively come find me, it shows that you highly approve of Xunnidi. If even a brewery owner like you approves of it so much, then when the time comes, won't there be countless people begging to cooperate with me?"
"Besides, your name is quite unlucky."
"Pei Jingguang—it sounds like 'lose everything'."
"Look at me, Zheng Qian—it sounds like 'make money'."
"If I partner with you, wouldn't I lose everything? Forget it, forget it. Secretary Xia, show our guest out!"
When Pei Jingguang heard this, his mouth twisted in anger. Damn it, what's wrong with his name? He didn't choose this name himself.
"Fine, since President Zheng is so confident, let's see who dares to partner with you then."
"I'll be waiting for you to come to my door and beg me!" After saying this, Pei Jingguang stormed off the premises.
The factory was indeed a headache for Zheng Qian. If Pei Jingguang hadn't reminded him, Zheng Qian would have truly forgotten about this regulation in Yezhou.
The main issue wasn't the unlucky name, but that the price Pei Jingguang was asking for was truly a bit high. Asking for 50% right off the bat, on what grounds?
If Pei Jingguang were willing to manufacture it for him, then giving him 20% of the profits wouldn't be a big deal; after all, it costs money to run the machines.
Besides 50% being too high, Zheng Qian had another thought. He had spent so much money and put in so much effort to secure the patent for Xunnidi; even if it couldn't be exported overseas in the future, it should at least occupy a place in the consumption market among young people.
Looking at the long term, what liquor merchant doesn't have their own factory? After all, he wanted to establish an international brand, so he still needed a brewery. It was just that all four of Yezhou's licenses were in Pei Jingguang's hands, which was really a bit troublesome.
However, Zheng Qian wasn't in a rush for large-scale promotion. Currently, he only needed to supply Red Rose and the Cui Family's bars. The output from the Maldives docked at the pier twice a week, which was perfectly sufficient to meet demand.
A few days later. Shuangliu Street. Schumiller Cafe.
Two exquisitely dressed women sat in a corner of the shop. One was elegantly dressed, the other lightly made up. The former exuded maturity and elegance, while the latter was pure yet charming.
However, between Lu Shanshan's brows hung a deep sense of worry, and the cold indifference on her face gave people the impression of an ice-queen CEO. Her expression formed a sharp contrast with Huo Muyan's high spirits.
"Shanshan, what on earth is the matter?"
"We are good sisters; there's nothing we can't talk about."
Huo Muyan had noticed a few days ago that Lu Shanshan had something on her mind, but since Lu Shanshan hadn't been willing to talk about it at the time, Huo Muyan hadn't pressed her. Today, Lu Shanshan asked her out again, saying there was something she wanted her help with to figure out what to do.
Lu Shanshan was feeling very bitter inside; she felt aggrieved enough to cry. Who could have imagined that a single phone call from Zheng Qian would cause Qianhe Group to withdraw their investment? She had sent Zheng Qian messages for several days in a row, but she hadn't received a reply.
Lu Shanshan went to Qianhe Group to look for Zheng Qian, but no one received her. When she asked where Zheng Qian went, they said he was on a business trip. When she asked when he would be back, no one would tell her.
Lu Shanshan felt that she was at the end of her rope, which was why she had asked Huo Muyan to come over to think of a solution and see if she could offer some advice.
"Sigh, it's all because of my family's company." Lu Shanshan told Huo Muyan everything about the difficulties her family was facing.
"I found that college classmate of mine and pulled an investment from Qianhe Group, but Qianhe Group wanted 51% of the shares and took control of the company. My mother was dissatisfied, and during dinner that night, she directly clashed with my classmate."
"As a result, they withdrew their investment, and now I don't know what to do."
Although Zheng Qian had little power and a low position at Qianhe Group, he was, after all, one of the directors—one of their own. Zheng Qian might not have been able to make the final decision on the financing project, but he definitely had the ability to persuade The Group to withdraw, especially since it was just an optional financing plan.
After listening, Huo Muyan roughly understood the situation.
"If you put it that way, then your mother's emotions really weren't controlled well. If you weren't willing to let them take control, you could have just not signed. Why make a scene with them at the dinner table?"
"Is it that college classmate you mentioned last time?" Huo Muyan asked. Lu Shanshan nodded.
