Chapter 27: Ex-girlfriend Yao Manman

"1,000 for everyone? Why are you sending out such a large amount?"

Xia Xixi tapped on the red envelope and saw that there really was 1,000 in it.

"Just paying my respects first, letting everyone get to know me, their new Vice President."

"Who exactly am I managing? Why don't you pull everyone under me into a group chat?" Zheng Qian explained.

"Even if you didn't send red envelopes, they would still recognize you as the Vice President. It was completely unnecessary," Xia Xixi explained. "This is your office. Take a look and see if there's anything you're dissatisfied with."

Zheng Qian entered and looked around the room.

The office was decorated in a fresh and refined style. First, there was a yellow rosewood desk, and on the desk sat an Apple all-in-one computer. There was also a miniature rockery, a running water feature, and a thoughtful little cactus.

The bookshelf, sofa, and coffee table in the back were also arranged with great care.

"Did you decorate this?" Zheng Qian asked.

"Yes. If there's anything that needs changing, just let me know."

"No need to change anything. It's quite good as it is."

Xia Xixi's ability to design and layout spaces was quite strong, which also indirectly showed that she was very capable.

Zheng Qian sat down in the soft, comfortable boss chair and subconsciously propped his legs up on the desk.

Before, this was a seat that only the company boss could sit in, but now, he was the one sitting there.

Zheng Qian felt an indescribable sensation in his heart.

So, could he be considered a successful person now?

"By the way, the company can provide you with a company car. The budget is 300,000. Take a look and see which model you'd like to choose."

300,000? What kind of car can you get for that? Something for business?

When Zheng Qian came upstairs, he had glanced at the parking lot and seen Mercedes-Benz and BMWs everywhere.

"What kind of cars do President Chen and President Liu drive?"

"President Chen drives a black Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and President Liu drives a Porsche Cayenne."

Mercedes-Benz S-Class and a Cayenne—those definitely exceeded 300,000. If their budget was so high, why only give him 300,000?

"It's like this: neither President Chen nor President Liu used the company's budget. Those are their personal cars," Xia Xixi explained to Zheng Qian.

Once she put it that way, Zheng Qian understood.

In that case, he certainly shouldn't use the company's budget either.

"Then what kind of car do you think suits me?" Zheng Qian asked her.

Xia Xixi fell silent.

"It's fine, just go ahead and say it. I won't blame you."

"I think President Zheng is suited to drive a Santana."

Damn it!

It wasn't that Zheng Qian looked down on the Santana.

It's just that he was now worth over a hundred million, and he was suited for a Santana?

Even though Xia Xixi didn't know he was worth over a hundred million, just based on his status as Vice President, shouldn't he at least have an Audi?

"President Zheng, the Santana is great. It's as low-key as you are. People will think you're just a company employee, but in reality, you're the company Vice President. You can play the pig to eat the tiger." Xia Xixi rarely joked with him.

"Go on, go on. I'm not driving a Santana."

Whenever Zheng Qian thought of the Santana, he remembered the days when he was being rubbed into the ground by the instructor's car.

No matter what, it had to be one level higher than what Liu Shiqi drove.

What kind of car was one level higher than a Cayenne?

Zheng Qian thought it over.

How about he just buys a Rolls-Royce?

He was already a Vice President; would it look right to drive a Santana? He definitely needed to maintain his image.

"Let's talk about this tomorrow. How many people report directly to me?"

"Six. One of them is on leave today and is not in the office."

Zheng Qian was a bit depressed. He was a Vice President, and he only had six people under him?

Of course, he could manage other employees too, but having six people reporting directly to him was actually not a small number.

Zheng Qian had Xia Xixi create another group, and he sent another red envelope in the small group, this time 2,000 for each person.

He returned to the main page, where many people had added him as a friend. Zheng Qian accepted them one by one.

Sending red envelopes didn't count towards cash back, but fortunately, his subordinates were all female employees, so he just needed to treat them to a meal in the evening.

Zheng Qian posted in the small group: "8:00 PM at Wangyue Pavilion, I'm treating everyone to dinner."

Deng Shuxin: "President Zheng is so generous!"

He Yanyan: "President Zheng, I just saw you, you're so handsome!"

Hao Ruxue: "That's for sure. Our President Zheng is the face of our company."

Chang Mengmeng: "Indeed, indeed!"

Zhong Xiaoyao: "President Zheng, I love you!"

There were a few too many names, and Zheng Qian couldn't remember them all for the moment.

However, the next message from someone in the small group made Zheng Qian remember immediately.

The message read: "President Zheng, I have a stomachache today and asked the company for leave, so I might not be able to make it. I'm really sorry, and thank you for the red envelope, President Zheng."

He looked at the name on the avatar: Yao Manman!

Yao Manman?

Zheng Qian immediately took his feet off the desk and tapped on Yao Manman's Moments to look, but because they weren't friends, he couldn't see anything.

Was it his ex-girlfriend, Yao Manman?

The avatar was different, and the bio was different too.

There were just too many people named Yao Manman.

Could it just be the same name?

It shouldn't be such a coincidence, right? It couldn't be that ex-girlfriend who cheated on him, whom he caught in the act, and who felt absolutely no guilt, right?

"Do you have the profile for this Yao Manman? Bring it over for me to see," Zheng Qian mentioned.

Xia Xixi snorted coldly.

As expected.

Zheng Qian didn't have good intentions.

He had just become the company Vice President, and he was already starting to hit on his own employees.

"President Zheng, let me remind you, this Yao Manman is certainly attractive, but as for her character, I can't really comment."

Zheng Qian: ?

He just asked her to get a profile; what did she think of him?

Did she think he wanted to hit on Yao Manman?

"It's not what you're imagining. I just wanted to take a look; I think I know this Yao Manman." Zheng Qian didn't say it was the same name as his ex-girlfriend, as that would only make Xia Xixi think he was a scumbag even more—after all, scumbags always used that line to hit on people.

"It's fine, you don't need to explain to me. I was just offering a friendly reminder. I'll go get you Yao Manman's file." Xia Xixi knew her place.

She was just a secretary; she couldn't control what Zheng Qian wanted to do.

Soon, Yao Manman's file was presented before Zheng Qian.

The photo was exactly the same as his ex-girlfriend.

Or rather, this was fucking Zheng Qian's ex-girlfriend, Yao Manman!

"Tsk tsk, what a coincidence," Zheng Qian smacked his lips subconsciously.

"President Zheng, do you know her?" Xia Xixi asked curiously.

"Yes, I know her. An acquaintance."

After that incident, Zheng Qian and Yao Manman had deleted each other on WeChat. Yao Manman had changed her avatar, username, and bio. If it weren't for the notes in the group chat, he really wouldn't have recognized her.

"Oh, I see. Then you must know she has a boyfriend, right?"

"You mean..."

"Chang Rui."

Chang Rui, Yao Manman. Zheng Qian was now 10,000% certain that it was this pair of dogs.

Zheng Qian tried hard to keep his expression unchanged.

"Chang Rui's father, Chang Dashan, is in the timber business and is a major client our company is currently negotiating with."

"If you are interested in Yao Manman, it probably won't be easy to win her over. Of course, if you use your halo as Vice President, I believe you could still take her down."
