40: Guan Ningyan's dream of being an anchor

Pulling open the door, Guan Ningyan rushed in.

Then, as if afraid someone was following, she poked her head out the door to check.

Only after confirming no one was behind her did she gently close the door, letting out a big sigh of relief.

She looked up again.

In the faint glow of the fluorescent grass, a figure with a serious expression stared intently at her, not even blinking.

Liu Yang's gaze made her heart pound, and she immediately sensed trouble.

But remembering the purpose of her visit, she still mustered the courage not to turn and run.

“Um… Da Lao…”

Guan Ningyan extended her right hand, pinching her fingertips together as she gestured, then chuckled:

“You wouldn’t mind if I took up a little bit of your time, would you?”

Liu Yang replied expressionlessly, “What if I said I did mind?”

“Emmmmmmmm.”

Guan Ningyan was dumbfounded: “This isn’t quite what I expected.”

Then her expression changed, and she put on a pitiful act, pleading:

“Da Lao, please give me a chance, for the sake of me being your loyal fan. I really have something I need to talk to you about.”

“Alright,” Liu Yang said impatiently. “What’s so urgent that it has to be said now? Can’t it wait until daytime? What if your Big Sister and the others misunderstand? That wouldn’t be good.”

“Misunderstand? Misunderstand what?” Guan Ningyan blinked in confusion, then enlightened, “Oh, I get it.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll support you.”

“???????????”

Guan Ningyan’s words left Liu Yang utterly bewildered.

“What do you get? How come I’m the one who’s confused?”

If he couldn’t figure it out, he wouldn’t try. Liu Yang urged, “Don’t waste time, just get to the point.”

“Da Lao, you know the functions of my camera, so I have an idea and I’d like your support.”

Guan Ningyan rubbed her hands together, speaking cautiously.

She felt that today's Da Lao was a bit off, a little too agitated.

Could it be that he had a falling out with his 'girlfriend'?

Hmm, that must be it.

No wonder he was afraid my Big Sister would misunderstand.

So he wants to get close to my Big Sister, huh?

But then again,

Why seek grass afar when there’s grass nearby!

Big Sister is petite and has a baby face, a complete legal loli.

Her body is soft and pliable, easy to...

Cough cough!

If there's a downside, it's that her future little nephew will have it tough, going hungry sometimes and full at others.

As for Second Sister, she’s tall and curvy.

Simply put, she has a balcony in front and a garden in back.

Women envy her, and men drool over her.

And with that size, let alone a little nephew, she could feed an entire family without a problem.

Both have their own unique qualities.

So, the question is,

Did Da Lao take a liking to Big Sister, or Second Sister?

Or...

Both?

Da Lao is indeed Da Lao; his ideas are truly unique.

Immediately, Guan Ningyan cast a look of admiration at Liu Yang.

“???????????”

Liu Yang waved his hand in front of Guan Ningyan’s eyes.

I'm waiting for you to continue, why did you suddenly space out!

Guan Ningyan snapped out of it, looking at Liu Yang with a hidden smile.

Only when Liu Yang’s expression began to change did she continue to explain her plan.

“...So, when you’re fighting monsters, can I livestream it?”

“No.”

Liu Yang flatly refused.

“If I let you livestream, wouldn’t I expose all my methods?”

“If I ever encounter someone with malicious intent, they’ll be in the dark and I’ll be in the light, making it very easy to get into trouble.”

Guan Ningyan persuaded:

“Da Lao, you’re overthinking it.”

“The Dungeon is full of dangers; it’s not that easy to run into people.”

“Besides, you must have some backup plans, right?”

“I won’t be streaming all the time.”

“When it’s inconvenient, just say the word, and I’ll end the stream.”

“And I’m not just streaming for fun; it will be beneficial for you and for everyone.”

After listening to Guan Ningyan, Liu Yang felt there was nothing wrong with it.

However, he didn’t mind hearing what benefits she was talking about first.

“Keep going.”

“Thank you, Da Lao.”

Seeing Liu Yang’s interest, Guan Ningyan’s spirits lifted, as if greatly encouraged.

“You must know about live streaming in reality; it’s normal to ask for small gifts during a stream.”

“I can do the same, but I’m not interested in food; I’ll just collect common materials.”

“With such a large base, I imagine the income should be much higher than what I get from fighting monsters.”

“Then, whenever you need something, Da Lao, you can have it readily available.”

“Most importantly, if you need any materials or want to sell something, wouldn’t it be much more convenient if I acquired or sold them for you during my livestream?”

“Oh?”

Hearing this, Liu Yang’s eyes suddenly lit up.

“That’s right, food and water will gradually disappear from the market.”

“Without a unified currency, and with different individual needs, many transactions will become complicated.”

“If someone can handle this, I’ll have a lot less to worry about.”

“This way, the items from my blueprints can be manufactured even sooner.”

“My biggest trump card is the Second Kill skill; as long as that isn’t revealed, there won’t be any problems.”

Liu Yang thought it over carefully and felt that this idea had potential and was worth a try.

Even if it didn't work out, there would be no loss.

Then he nodded: “Then let’s try it.”

“Thank you, Da Lao, thank you, thank you!”

“However, when it’s inconvenient, if I say stop, you must stop immediately, not a moment’s delay.”

“Also, I’ll have many materials I need to acquire; I’m entrusting this to you. Can you handle it?”

“Absolutely,” Guan Ningyan straightened her back, answering with great certainty.

“Oh, Da Lao, if my Big Sister scolds me, you have to help me out, okay?”

“Mm, no problem.”

With the matter confirmed, the two began discussing the details.

After both felt there were no issues, Guan Ningyan said goodbye and left.

As for the items Liu Yang needed to acquire, he had already sent them to Guan Ningyan via private message.

After Guan Ningyan left, Liu Yang began to rest.

Guan Ningyan returned to her room, not an ounce of sleepiness in her.

Her dream of a streamer’s career was about to begin, and she was incredibly excited.

In reality, it was all studying, studying, studying, with no possibility of realizing her dreams.

But now it was different.

Thinking of this, she eagerly began to implement her plan.

She called up the game interface and entered the world chat channel.

She took out her camera and uploaded the first photo she took of Liu Yang decorating the stewed meat.

She added text and clicked send.

“When some people are still starving, others are living a life of eating meat through their own efforts.”

“When some people are so hungry that even tasteless food tastes delicious, others are already pursuing the taste of food.”

“Not only that, he even used green grass as a base and fresh flowers as decoration, making the food pleasing to the eye.”

“Who is he?”

“He is our legendary Da Lao—Liu Yang.”

Livestreaming itself was easy to talk about.

But getting people to send gifts was not an easy task.

This had to be a gradual process, step by step, like boiling a frog in warm water.

However,

Her late-night ‘poisoning’ behavior immediately aroused public anger.
