65: Iron-clad Earth Dragon Clan vs. Thorny Deer King (2nd update)

Liu Yang was excited, yet also terrified.

He didn't dare to linger, speeding towards the Thorn Devil Deer King.

He was worried the Armored Earth Dragon Pack wouldn't find their target.

On the way, he mercilessly smashed the remaining two armored earth dragon eggs, one every so often.

By the time the last one was shattered, he was not far from the Thorn Devil Deer King.

So.

He put the cloth wrapped around his hand into his storage to destroy any evidence.

After all, he didn't know if the Armored Earth Dragon Pack relied on scent to find the culprit.

But it was better to be safe than sorry.

Then he circled around most of the area to get behind the Thorn Devil Deer King.

At this point, the three were in a straight line:

Armored Earth Dragon Pack — Thorn Devil Deer King — Liu Yang.

In this situation, even if the Armored Earth Dragon Pack discovered something amiss, their rage would drive them to charge at the Thorn Devil Deer King without hesitation.

And as a king, how could the Thorn Devil Deer King retreat in the face of invaders?

What's more, two armored earth dragon eggs truly had been eaten by the Thorn Devil Deer King.

Now, it was time to see if things would unfold as he expected.

Liu Yang hid at a great distance, waiting.

Boom boom boom!

Thump thump thump!

Awoo awoo awoo!!!

The sounds of running and roaring converged, their might shaking the heavens.

All creatures along the way scattered and fled.

The Thorn Devil Deer King heard the commotion and stopped eating.

It raised its head high, looking in the direction from which the Armored Earth Dragon Pack was rushing.

Yoo-hoo!

The Thorn Devil Deer King let out a long roar to the sky.

A normally herbivorous auspicious beast had abandoned its vegetarian diet for meat, truly living up to its name as the Thorn Devil Deer King.

It had to retaliate against the invaders who disturbed its meal.

Otherwise, how could it be worthy of its title as king?

The Armored Earth Dragon Pack was brimming with killing intent.

Dozens of Armored Earth Dragons surged from afar like a rolling flood.

Their might was vast, their aura magnificent.

Yoo-hoo!

With a deer's cry, a pale green light radiated from the Thorn Devil Deer King's body.

Wherever the green light passed, grass blades, vines, and roots all surged wildly.

They danced erratically in the air, like a frenzy of ten thousand pythons.

“They’re here, they’re here!”

Liu Yang's palms were sweating from nervousness.

At the same time, the information of the leading Armored Earth Dragon of the Armored Earth Dragon Pack appeared before his eyes.

【Armored Earth Dragon Leader Lv28: When an ordinary man gets angry, blood splatters five paces. Those who dare to harm the young of my Armored Earth Dragon race… come and die!!!】

“Why is it only a Leader-level monster?”

Liu Yang was a bit worried, fearing it wouldn't be a match for the Thorn Devil Deer King.

Initially, the Armored Earth Dragon Leader was somewhat puzzled as to why it hadn't seen the culprit yet.

But as it approached the Thorn Devil Deer King, it instantly sensed the aura of its clan's young eggs in the other party's belly.

There was no escaping it; the culprit was indeed this one.

How dare you eat my clan's young eggs? Even if you are a king, you won't get off easy.

Awoo awoo!

With a command, the Armored Earth Dragon suddenly exerted its strength, charging directly at the Thorn Devil Deer King.

Seeing the aggressor approach, the Thorn Devil Deer King raised its front legs high, then brought them down heavily.

Bang!

After a dull thud, another wave of green light swept through.

The already bamboo-thick vines surged again, with thorns protruding from their surfaces.

The Armored Earth Dragon stepped into the range of the green light.

The vines swept towards the Armored Earth Dragon.

The Armored Earth Dragons in the front row were attacked first, all of them bound by the vines, unable to move.

Even the Armored Earth Dragon Leader was no exception.

“Is that all?”

Liu Yang was dumbfounded, unable to believe it.

However, the matter did not end there.

Awoo!

The Armored Earth Dragon Leader let out a roar, its body surged, and the surrounding vines immediately snapped one by one.

The other Armored Earth Dragons followed suit, also breaking free from the vines' restraint.

Seeing its attack fail, the Thorn Devil Deer King showed no panic.

It stomped its front hooves again, and the broken vines rapidly grew back, their number even greater than before.

This time, in addition to the thorns on the surface of the vines, their tips transformed into gleaming, spear-like points.

Countless vines swept out once more.

Some bound their waists, some constricted their legs, some wrapped around their tails, and some even launched direct attacks.

Abdomen, neck, eyes, nostrils, and even excretory orifices were all targets of attack.

Awoo!

A mournful cry arose, and many Armored Earth Dragons had vines pierce into their bodies.

The vines pulsed, like rubber tubes sucking something dry.

Looking at those Armored Earth Dragons, they all began to shrivel.

Gulp!

Liu Yang swallowed hard, terrified.

If that happened to him…

Just thinking about it made his sphincter clench.

Seeing many of its subordinates suffer such a cruel fate, the Armored Earth Dragon Leader immediately opened its gaping maw.

Golden-white light condensed in its mouth, then spewed out towards the Thorn Devil Deer King.

Dragon's Breath?

Liu Yang's heart stirred, and he stared at the scene without blinking.

When the golden-white light erupted from the Armored Earth Dragon Leader's mouth, it instantly transformed into countless arrow shadows, assailing the Thorn Devil Deer King like a torrential downpour.

Facing such an onslaught, the Thorn Devil Deer King dared not be careless.

It retreated a step, lowering its head slightly.

Green light surged wildly from its antlers, forming a colossal emerald shield in front of it.

Clink clink clink!

The arrow shadows collided with the giant shield, producing crisp sounds like clashing steel.

However, the sheer number of arrow shadows was too vast, and the giant shield shattered after only a short while.

The Thorn Devil Deer King was startled and immediately leaped back to dodge.

But no matter how fast it was, how could it outpace the rapidly approaching arrow shadows?

Yoo~yoo~yoo!

The Thorn Devil Deer King cried out in pain.

Its body was covered in blood, riddled with countless holes.

Even its aura became weak and dispirited.

Looking at the Armored Earth Dragon Leader.

After unleashing a powerful move, it also became weak and powerless.

Even its massive body deflated like a balloon, returning to its original size.

With the Thorn Devil Deer King injured, its control over the vines became lax.

A small number of surviving Armored Earth Dragons found an opportunity, broke free, and pounced towards the Thorn Devil Deer King.

A dying camel is still bigger than a horse.

How could the Thorn Devil Deer King, as a king, be bitten by mere Armored Earth Dragons?

Green light surged from its antlers again, transforming into thorny vines that entangled all the Armored Earth Dragons.

Just like before.

The thorns pierced into the Armored Earth Dragons' bodies, immediately beginning to suck their flesh and blood.

But compared to before, the speed was much, much slower.

As it sucked, the Thorn Devil Deer King's injuries visibly recovered.

Seeing this, Liu Yang's heart turned cold.

“Am I going to fail at the last moment?”

Just at this critical juncture.

The Armored Earth Dragon Leader finally recovered some strength.

With a fierce lunge, it bit the Thorn Devil Deer King's neck.

Yoo!!!

The Thorn Devil Deer King let out a tragic cry.

It channeled all its strength, sending out a few more thorny vines that wrapped around the Armored Earth Dragon Leader.

You bite me, I suck you; the two sides reached a stalemate.

“This is great.”

Liu Yang's sorrow turned to joy, and he cheered internally.

But now was not the time to step forward.

He waited patiently.

About 5 minutes passed.

Several ordinary Armored Earth Dragons had turned into withered bones and skin.

Yet, the Thorn Devil Deer King's injuries showed no signs of improvement.

Because the nutrients from the flesh and blood it sucked were all used to compensate for the damage caused by the Armored Earth Dragon Leader.

Finally.

Only the Armored Earth Dragon Leader and the Thorn Devil Deer King remained in the field.

At this point, the two could be said to be evenly matched; it was a battle of willpower.

As long as one side lost heart first, the outcome could only be death.

Another ten minutes passed.

The Armored Earth Dragon Pack and the Thorn Devil Deer King were both on their last breaths.

“Now!”

Liu Yang softly exclaimed, heading straight for the scene.

Given that there are 4 updates, I wonder if I can ask for some votes?
