182: Chapter 182 Emerging from the wolf's den, only to fall into the tiger's mouth.

"Sister Mia! Patriarch!"

A blood-covered Velvet-Ear Tribe scout stumbled through the red grass and collapsed in the mud.

Her face was pale, her voice filled with deep despair and fear.

"No... it's bad! H-humans are here!"

"It's those wolf-riding demons!"

Hearing this, the already shaken Velvet-Ear Tribe members fell into chaos, cries of despair rising and falling.

Mia suddenly pulled out the stone dagger at her waist, wiped the tears from her eyes, and stood in front of everyone.

"Patriarch, run, quickly!"

Mia stared fixedly at the shifting shadows in the grass behind them, her voice trembling but resolute.

"I'll stay behind to cover the retreat!"

Just as she finished speaking.

The old Patriarch stepped forward, reaching out with trembling hands to grab Mia's wrist.

"Silly child."

The old Patriarch's clouded eyes were full of affection as her withered fingers pried Mia's hand open.

She forced the broken wooden staff, a symbol of the Patriarch's status, into Mia's palm.

"Mia, I'm old. My legs can't run anymore."

"The position of Patriarch is yours from now on!"

The old Patriarch turned abruptly, using her frail body to block the path the tribe had to take to retreat.

"Quickly, take the tribespeople and run!"

"Run as far as you can!"

"Live on with the hope of our Velvet-Ear Tribe!"

"Patriarch!" Mia cried out hoarsely.

The old Patriarch pushed Mia away and didn't look back.

She let out a tragic and heroic roar: "Go! Get out of here, now!"

Just as she spoke.

"Awoooo—"

A violent wolf howl tore through the sea of grass.

Bator led hundreds of fully armed Wolf Cavalry, charging out like a silver storm.

Sharp scimitars glinted coldly in the sunlight.

The old Patriarch couldn't even hold them back for a second before she was ruthlessly pounced upon by a massive Mutant Warg and trampled under the iron hooves of the Wolf Cavalry.

"Run!"

Mia's eyes were bloodshot, and she gritted her teeth.

Resisting the urge to turn back and fight to the death, she pulled a young tribesperson along and dove into the deeper sea of grass.

The desperate flight began.

Her lungs felt as heavy as lead, and every breath carried a strong stench of blood.

Mia led the remaining two hundred or so tribespeople, running for their lives through the three-to-four-meter-high Crimson Grass.

Along the way, elderly and children who lacked stamina kept falling into the mud.

But Mia didn't dare stop to help them.

Because if she paused for even a moment, the shadow-like Wolf Cavalry would pounce ruthlessly, tearing the stragglers to pieces in an instant.

Piercing screams rang out behind them, stabbing at the nerves of every Velvet-Ear Tribe member.

Of the two hundred-plus people, their numbers dwindled as they ran.

Until the screams behind them gradually subsided...

Mia and the others had run for a full ten kilometers.

The view ahead suddenly opened up.

A large open space appeared, violently flattened by some gargantuan object.

Just as Mia burst out of the sea of grass, her tense nerves relaxed slightly.

Her foot was suddenly tripped hard by a protruding rock.

"Thud!"

She fell heavily into the mud, her head spinning, her bones feeling as if they were falling apart.

"Patriarch Mia!"

The few remaining tribespeople around her cried out and tried to step forward to help her up.

At that moment.

"Vroom— Vroom—"

The earth trembled.

A violent blast of engine air, mixed with a strong smell of engine oil, suddenly rushed at them.

A shadow so massive it was suffocating, like a dark cloud blotting out the sun, fell heavily over Mia.

Mia's body went stiff as she slowly, inch by inch, raised her head.

When she saw the full appearance of the monster before her.

A warm liquid flowed uncontrollably down her fair thighs and into the mud.

She wet herself from fear.

It was a blood-colored steel behemoth as large as a mountain!

The red wolf heavy tank, exuding an aura of slaughter, sat quietly before her.

As a member of the Velvet-Ear Tribe, her perception of danger was exceptionally keen.

From the blood-colored behemoth in front of her, she felt countless pressures of death!

It was as if she would be torn to pieces if she dared to move...

However, the despair was far from over.

"Clatter, clatter—"

From the towering Crimson Grass all around came bursts of scalp-numbing mechanical roars.

One after another, Steel Chariots, Heavy Armored Trucks, and Armed Off-road Vehicles.

Like a tide, they slowly drove out of the sea of grass.

"Pa... Patriarch Mia... W-we're surrounded..."

A mud-covered Velvet-Ear Tribe girl slumped on the ground, her voice shaking uncontrollably.

"Waaaah... I don't want to die, Sister Mia! I'm scared!"

"What are those steel monsters... they're even scarier than the man-eating wolves..."

"It's over, we're all going to die here today..."

Cries of despair quickly spread among the remaining Velvet-Ear Tribe members.

Several young children huddled together, shivering.

It was over.

Mia's mind went blank.

Just as they escaped the wolf's den, they had plunged straight into the encirclement of a human army.

From all directions.

Hundreds, thousands of dark tank barrels and heavy machine guns all turned in unison.

The cold metal muzzles were aimed dead-on at the shivering group of Velvet-ears in the center of the clearing.

It was the ruthless gaze of the Grim Reaper.

Looking at the fully armed human army exuding a terrifying killing intent before her.

Mia slumped completely into the mud and closed her eyes in despair.

An image had already uncontrollably surfaced in her mind.

She could almost see herself and the remaining tribespeople being cruelly skinned by these terrifying humans.

Then thrown into a boiling pot of spicy red oil...

And finally, she saw the miserable scene of them being made into pots of spicy rabbit heads...
