75: Chapter 75 Blood-Red Locusts Pass Through!
The Wolf Hunter Alliance's retaliation has begun.
Following the guerrilla tactics ordered by Blood Crow, tens of thousands of red-named thugs dispersed into smaller units.
Some sped along the main roads, others drove straight into the wilderness, and some set up ambushes in the corners of ruins.
Dense swarms of red-named vehicles spread out like a net, preparing to hunt down the "fat sheep" of Sector C-72 who had been left alone.
Grey Antelope.
The frontrunner of Sector C-68 and a top-tier expert ranked twentieth on the global kill leaderboard.
His vehicle was a heavy-duty Suzuki motorcycle that had undergone extensive firepower modifications.
His team composition was even more luxurious: exactly one hundred people, all riding high-mobility off-road motorcycles.
This hundred-man cavalry troop possessed ridiculously high mobility.
In the previous siege of Broken Stone Canyon, the main forces of other major sectors had suffered casualties to varying degrees.
Yet, their convoy alone had managed to survive entirely unscathed.
Their main strategy was: if things look bad, bolt!
They were experts at this kind of guerrilla sniping and killing.
Riding his speeding motorcycle, a cruel sneer curled on Grey Antelope's lips.
Their tactics were perfect.
If they encountered the Red Wolf Tank, they would just floor the throttle and flee.
Once teammates from other sectors drew the aggro of that clunky tank, they would pounce like a pack of wolves and tear the isolated white-named players of Sector C-72 to shreds!
A perfect plan!
At this thought, Grey Antelope felt a surge of excitement.
Leading his hundred-man motorcycle brigade, he pushed his speed to the limit on the highway, racing along.
As the convoy passed through a cluster of ruined buildings, the view ahead suddenly opened up.
However...
The scene that appeared before Grey Antelope made him slam on the brakes, even wondering if he was hallucinating.
He saw that the horizon ahead was completely dyed a glaring red!
Billowing dust blotted out the sky.
One red-painted chariot after another was lined up horizontally, advancing like a moving Great Wall of Steel.
A hundred? A thousand? Or a fucking ten thousand?!
They were impossible to count!
In the moment Grey Antelope froze, his vehicle's radar alarm began to flash frantically.
The piercing buzz nearly ruptured his eardrums.
"Warning! Warning!"
"Massive hostile targets detected approaching at high speed!"
Run!
Grey Antelope's mind went blank instantly; survival instinct left him with only one thought!
Before he could even issue an order...
A sudden flash of blinding eerie blue fire erupted from the distant red horizon.
Immediately after, a dense hail of Electrified Armor-Piercing Rounds poured down like a torrential rainstorm!
"Not good!! Enemy attack!!! Retreat!!"
Before Grey Antelope's roar could even leave his throat...
The violent lines of metal fire had already swept ruthlessly through his convoy.
Pfft!
Grey Antelope felt a heart-wrenching pain in his right arm.
An armor-piercing round pierced straight through his arm, the terrifying kinetic energy tearing his entire forearm off on the spot!
Blood sprayed everywhere as he let out a miserable scream, nearly tumbling off his high-speed motorcycle.
And the high-mobility teammates he was so proud of were mostly killed or wounded under this barrage of fire.
Motorcycles exploded into fireballs, tearing both riders and vehicles into fragments.
The surviving underlings were scared out of their wits, wailing like ghosts and howling like wolves.
"This is bad!!! It's the Red Wolf Guild!!"
"Run!!"
Enduring the agonizing pain of his severed arm, Grey Antelope gripped the handlebar tightly with one hand and performed a frantic tail-flick U-turn.
"Run!! Run fast!!"
"We can't fight them! These sons of bitches aren't isolated at all! They've grouped up!!"
Leaving behind a ground full of corpses and scrapped motorcycles, Grey Antelope fled like a stray dog with the remaining dozen or so defeated soldiers.
Two minutes later.
The massive Red Wolf Army rolled over the ruins, arriving at the spot where Grey Antelope had just been ambushed.
The army's vanguard continued forward at full speed.
Following them, a group of green-eyed Logistics Team members branched off from the main force like a tide, pouncing directly onto the fallen motorcycles.
"Oho! This Suzuki motorcycle is actually still intact!"
A burly man holding a wrench shouted excitedly, "Where's that brother on the bicycle? Do you want to switch vehicles?!"
At the back of the crowd, a player sweating profusely while pedaling a bicycle was so excited he threw his bike away on the spot.
"Yes, yes, yes! Thanks, big brother! I finally don't have to pedal with my two legs anymore!"
The others were not to be outdone.
"This one's engine is shot, it won't start. Strip it!"
"Hey, hey, hey! Brother, if you're stripping the steel plates, go ahead, but leave a wheel for me! I'll use it to trade for contribution points!"
"Don't fight over it! Move faster! There are dozens more ahead!"
"There's still half a tank of gas in this one! Quick, get a hose to siphon it!"
The sounds of chainsaws and clanking wrenches filled the air.
Over a thousand Logistics Team players had clear divisions of labor, their movements so skilled it was hair-raising.
In just two short minutes...
Dozens of highly modified off-road motorcycles were stripped clean by these red-eyed players.
Not even a single suspension spring was left behind.
"Report! Battlefield cleanup complete!"
The logistics squad leader in charge of this area roared excitedly in the guild channel.
Afterward, the Logistics Team quickly returned to their respective vehicles.
This terrifying red torrent of steel didn't pause for even a second, continuing its massive advance!
...
Meanwhile...
The 2400-kilometer stretch, Crimson Nursing Home.
In the dim underground meeting room, Blood Crow was holding a glass of red wine, leisurely waiting for the good news of the civilian massacre from his subordinates.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang.
The door to the meeting room was violently burst open.
Several alliance underlings responsible for outer reconnaissance scrambled in, their faces filled with indelible horror and despair.
"This is bad! Boss! Retreat!"
"Red Wolf... the Red Wolf Army is coming for us!"
Blood Crow frowned and slammed his wine glass onto the table, shouting sternly.
"What are you panicking for?!"
"If they're coming, then disperse! Didn't I say to use guerrilla tactics? Pick them off one by one!"
"No... that's not it, Boss!"
The underling's legs went weak with fear; he fell to his knees with a thud and began to wail in collapse.
"They... they've grouped up!"
"Ten... over a hundred thousand people!"
"Led by Red Wolf, they're rolling over us like a massive wall!"
"The brothers we sent out for guerrilla warfare were steamrolled by them!"
"The casualties are countless!"
The underling clung tightly to Blood Crow's pant leg, wailing at the top of his lungs.
"Boss, the defense line has completely collapsed!"
"Retreat! If we don't run now, it'll be too late!!!"
Hearing this...
Blood Crow, who had been sitting calmly and disdainfully...
...was struck as if by lightning, freezing in place.
He suddenly grabbed the underling's collar, his eyes nearly bulging out, and let out a cracked, disbelieving roar.
"What the fuck did you just say?!!!!"
