212: Chapter 212 The Film Spider

The magnetic field of the fog was operating silently.

The greed in the hearts of the Red Wolf members was amplified infinitely.

Whenever they encountered a monster along the way, they would first check if it could be burned.

If it could be burned, it would be used as fuel.

If it couldn't be burned, they would see if it could be eaten...

Their eyes glowed with a green light, and like a swarm of locusts passing through, they frantically explored every corner of the grand theater.

"Bang!"

With a kick, the wooden door of the side hall was sent flying, and several burly men rushed in excitedly.

Hiding inside were a few crawling monsters covered in pustules and with hideous faces.

Before the monsters could even hiss, the men had already skillfully surrounded them and began to size them up.

"This thing reeks of acid; it doesn't look like it can be burned."

"Not only can it not be burned, but the meat quality looks terrible too. It definitely can't be eaten!"

The crawling monsters lay on the ground, originally baring their fangs and brandishing their claws, but upon hearing this, they instinctively breathed a sigh of relief.

They were all too aware of the fate of their brothers outside!

They were thankful that they were useless and wouldn't have to suffer repeated torture at the hands of the humans!!

But the next second,

the madmen from the Red Wolf Guild actually pulled out thick titanium alloy chains from their backpacks.

In no time at all, they had put collars on these crawling monsters and tied them up securely.

"If it can't be burned and can't be eaten, there's always a use for it!"

"Drag them to the rear!"

"They'll serve as human sandbags for our non-combat personnel in the Logistics Team; they're perfect for practicing combat techniques!"

Amidst waves of desperate wails,

these terrifying monsters native to Inner World were dragged off to the rear position, chained up in humiliation.

The massive horror survival game had been forcibly turned into a crazy resource-looting management game by the Red Wolf Guild.

...

As the sweep deepened,

Xia Li led the elites of the Blade Group and fought her way to the deepest part of the theater.

Before her was a thick, double-leaf black metal door covered in strange, dark red patterns.

Xia Li gripped the alloy longsword in her hand and kicked the door open with a fierce kick.

A strong smell of blood rushed towards her.

The core area inside the door was astonishingly large, like a massive underground air-raid shelter.

The surrounding environment was dim and damp.

The ceiling and walls were densely covered with black film strips, resembling giant spiderwebs.

And in the center of these film webs,

hung "human cocoons" tightly wrapped in film.

Through the translucent film, one could still see the shriveled corpses inside.

Dark red tubes were inserted into the human cocoons, continuously extracting the remaining blood and converging it toward the center of the hall.

And that old-fashioned projector embedded on the back of the mutant spider was glowing with a faint blue light.

Looking at that Film Spider, Xia Li dared not be careless.

"Everyone, prepare for battle!"

She shouted coldly, and the Chain Blade in her hand emitted a crisp clang.

Hearing the commotion, the Film Spider on the ceiling abruptly turned its massive body.

Its projector lens aimed at the Red Wolf Army that had swarmed in below.

In the past, as soon as it appeared, those weak survivors would be scared out of their wits and suffer mental breakdowns.

But now...

this group of fully armed humans below was not only not afraid in the slightest,

but instead, they all widened their eyes, as if they were looking at a rare treasure!

"Damn it, what is wrong with this group of humans?!"

The Film Spider felt an unprecedented sense of insult and panic. It opened its hideous mouthparts and let out a shrill hiss.

Its eight sharp, spear-like appendages kicked off the ceiling fiercely.

Its massive body, carrying a terrifying pressure, slammed into the ground like a small mountain.

Xia Li's beautiful eyes narrowed slightly, her gaze keenly locked onto the glowing projector core on the spider's back.

"It seems this guy is the key to breaking the situation that Lu Yuan mentioned!"

Xia Li's figure flashed, like a silver bolt of lightning, and she launched the attack first.

"Kill!"

The elites of the Blade Group behind her roared as they followed, providing cover with heavy firepower.

The Film Spider let out an angry roar.

Its tail suddenly spewed out a large amount of black film, as hard as steel, instantly blocking most of the bullets.

At the same time, its sharp appendages, like the scythes of the Grim Reaper, frantically sliced through the surrounding air.

Relying on the super agility brought by the Mechanical White Tiger, Xia Li weaved flexibly through the flashing blades.

Finding the right moment, she jumped high and slashed heavily at one of the spider's appendages with her sword.

"Clang!"

Sparks flew everywhere.

Accompanied by a crisp sound, that thick mechanical appendage was forcibly severed by Xia Li.

However, before everyone could rejoice,

the surrounding black film surged rapidly, wrapping around the severed appendage as if it had a life of its own.

In just two seconds,

the severed spider leg was twisted back into place, completely intact!

"It really does have the ability to revive and reorganize!"

Xia Li felt a chill in her heart, instantly realizing that a conventional war of attrition was useless against this monster.

She had to strike the vital point!

She took a deep breath, her legs exerted force, and she transformed into an afterimage.

Stepping on the film spiderwebs that the spider had spat out, Xia Li borrowed force several times in mid-air and landed precisely on the Film Spider's broad back.

"Roar—!!"

The spider struggled frantically, trying to shake her off.

Xia Li planted her feet, stabilized her body, and gripped the Chain Blade with both hands in a reverse grip, the blade tip pointing straight at the projector core emitting blue light.

Her eyes were cold, and without the slightest hesitation, she swung her hand back fiercely.

The silver Chain Blade flew out of her hand, turning into a cold gleam, stabbing straight toward the projector core.

"Crack!"

Accompanied by a crisp sound of glass shattering,

the blue light flickered violently, and the projector's lens was forcibly pierced.

The Film Spider let out a shrill scream, its massive body collapsing to the ground in pain, its eight appendages twitching frantically.

In its not-so-clever brain, it was filled with disbelief.

This damn human looked petite and weak, how could she have so much strength?!

Xia Li didn't give it a chance to catch its breath, pressing the attack.

"Die!!!"

The silver edge wove into an airtight net of death, and black bodily fluids sprayed out.

In just a few seconds, this Lord of Inner World, which had once made countless survivors despair, was already on the verge of death, paralyzed in a pool of blood and unable to move.

Xia Li flipped her wrist, gripped the Chain Blade again, and looked coldly at the monster under her feet.

"It's over!"

Just as she was about to deliver the final blow to end the life of this Lord,

a desperate shout suddenly came from the crowd below.

"Hold your hand!"

Logistics Team leader Wang Jian waved his hands frantically, shouting loudly.

"Sister Li, wait! Don't kill it!"

Xia Li's movement stopped abruptly, the blade tip hovering an inch above the spider's core, and she turned her head back with a puzzled expression.

She saw Wang Jian's eyes shining, his face flushed with excitement.

"Sister Li, I suddenly have a bold idea!"

"Look at its legs, that's metal!"

"If we dismantle its legs and melt them into molten iron! Then take the molten iron and refine it into steel plates..."

"Hehe... and then wait for it to regrow its severed legs!"

"Repeat this cycle..."

"I wonder if it's feasible!"
