17: Selling Materials

That morning, Chen Fan returned to the Ninth Army Base.

At this time, there was still one day before the new recruit camp started training.

Chen Fan did not report to the 492nd Regiment in advance, planning to first deal with the two Beast General-level Silver Moon Giant Wolves he had on him.

Inside the Ninth Army Base, there was a dedicated trading area.

Many martial artists from the dangerous areas used this place as a supply and transfer station, where they conducted material transactions and replenished consumables.

Whether they were martial artists from the Dojo of Limits, Thunder Martial Hall, or the HR Alliance, they could all conduct material transactions with military martial artists here.

Of course, the military personnel were the largest buyers.

As soon as he arrived at the entrance of the trading market, Chen Fan was shocked by the dense crowd of martial artists inside.

Looking around, thousands of martial artists filled the vast trading market, their bustling presence bringing popularity and noise to every corner of the market.

Most of them were martial artists returning from the dangerous Wilderness Area, their dust-covered appearances resembling seasoned travelers.

With their addition, the entire market instantly became incredibly lively.

Shouts, hawking, and bargaining filled the entire trading market.

This is how human society should be!

A smile inadvertently appeared on Chen Fan's lips.

After experiencing the solitude and danger of the Wilderness Area, returning to a lively place full of people made his heart race uncontrollably.

The base city is a safe zone for human life and the ultimate stronghold of civilization.

Similarly, Chen Fan knew very well that stability and peace came at a cost.

For example, Defense Base 0231, which was reduced to scorched earth after a fierce battle... and those heroic soldiers who stepped forward to resist monsters, rescue comrades, and ultimately sacrificed their lives.

In unseen places, who knew how many more soldiers and martial artists were silently making sacrifices, just to fight monsters and defend their homeland.

A realization dawned on Chen Fan's mind. The desire to become stronger surged like a tide, instantly filling Chen Fan's thoughts.

Born in a chaotic world, he must strive to become stronger and hunt more monsters to ensure the safety of human base cities and his home.

Chen Fan pondered silently, his clenched fists tightening repeatedly.

After a long while, Chen Fan finally unclenched his fists and dialed his home phone.

"Hello, Mom, I just finished training. Life in the army is pretty good. Every day there are five meat dishes, four vegetable dishes, and two soups. The brothers here speak nicely and have sincere and straightforward personalities. I really like it here..."

Chen Fan called home to report his safety.

"Got it. I'll still be in the army in December, so I won't be taking the college entrance exam, right?

After all, your son is already a soldier, and he's very impressive."

Chen Fan said happily, wanting to reassure his parents.

Little did he know, his parents on the other end of the phone looked distraught and worried.

A mother worries when her child travels far, and the autumn moon shines through frost and dew.

After hanging up the phone, all the joy on Chen Fan's face disappeared.

Reborn into this life, he felt the long-lost warmth of family.

This was his parents and his home, the place Chen Fan would desperately protect!

Chen Fan collected himself and stepped through the market gate, entering inside.

"High-price acquisition of monster materials, fur, the higher the quality, the better the price."

"Selling defensive equipment and Battle Blades of good quality, at reasonable prices."

"Come and take a look, weapons and ammunition on sale at low prices, bulk purchases get better deals!"

"..."

Along the way, stalls from the Dojo of Limits, Thunder Martial Hall, HR Alliance, and some chaebol forces were loudly hawking their wares.

This scene was very much like a morning vegetable market.

Chen Fan walked on, passing these stalls.

A moment later, Chen Fan stopped at the entrance of the Ninth Army Material Trading Hall.

Two rows of heavily armed soldiers stood ready, forming a cordon.

Chen Fan took out his identification and military documents from his in arms, handed them over, and explained his purpose.

After verification, a tall, mature-looking woman walked over and smiled.

"Mr. Chen Fan, welcome. Your transaction is scheduled for the sixth floor, where Manager Zhang will personally receive you."

"Mm."

Chen Fan said no more and followed the capable woman into the hall.

Inside the luxurious hall, there were not only trading areas but also bars, tea houses, coffee shops, and game rooms.

Although the Ninth Army's regulations were strict, the private lives of the soldiers were the best among the entire Jingji Garrison.

This was because the commander of the Ninth Army, Fu Fengxue, once said at a general army meeting: "My Ninth Army soldiers can charge forward bravely on the battlefield, but their daily lives should also be rich."

Even though this statement was not written into the regulations, they knew that what the old man Fu said always counted.

Chen Fan followed the woman into the elevator and arrived on the sixth floor.

Stepping out of the elevator, a large reception room came into view, with single sofas on the side, specifically prepared for business discussions.

"Mr. Chen, this is Manager Zhang's office. Please come in."

The reception beauty led Chen Fan in, then respectfully closed the door and withdrew.

The office had no other decorations, just an office desk and a Battle Blade rack... as well as a clothes rack with military uniforms and long robes.

It was simple and efficient, much like an old soldier.

"Chen Fan, I heard you have Beast General-level materials to sell to me?"

Saying this, the burly, bald old man glanced at the large backpack behind Chen Fan, then took out a specialized detection instrument from a cabinet behind the desk and placed it on the table.

He looked extremely professional.

"Yes, Commander Yan Xiao said you are the most honest merchant in the Ninth Army Base, so he recommended me here."

Chen Fan was frank.

Flattery gets you everywhere.

The two smiled at each other, everything unspoken.

Then, Chen Fan didn't hesitate, took off the backpack behind him, placed it on the ground, and began taking out the materials one by one.

First out were the skull and teeth, eyeballs, wolf claws, and the most precious fur of the Intermediate Beast General-level Silver Moon Giant Wolf.

The huge wolf pelt was spread out, with the other materials placed on top of it.

"Tsk tsk tsk, this is a Beast General-level Silver Moon Giant Wolf!! And so complete!"

With just one glance, Manager Zhang's eyes widened. The materials before him had captivated him.

The fully spread fur revealed the dominance and ferocity of the Silver Moon Giant Wolf.

Especially those sharp giant claws, which had caused countless martial artists to meet their demise.

Now, this Beast General had been slain by this young soldier, the result was truly astonishing.

Manager Zhang was secretly startled, and he involuntarily stroked the wolf fur, again and again.

A silky smooth feeling came from his palm, "My heavens, such complete hunter fur is truly rare."

"This is just one of them; I have others."

Looking at the bald old man's shocked face, Chen Fan smiled slightly and began taking out more materials from his backpack.

This time, Chen Fan took out all the materials from the High-level Beast General.
