33: Tragic battlefield

Ooh, roar!!

Ooh... roar!!

In front of the War Dragon Group's position, continuous roars of monsters echoed.

An extremely massive horde of rat-like monsters was approaching at an astonishing speed, attempting to tear through this human position and advance further back.

At this moment, the War Dragon Group, from top to bottom, was utterly exhausted.

But they were still holding on, refusing to retreat an inch.

Because the soldiers knew very well in their hearts.

Behind them was not just the Ninth Army Base, but their home!!

In front of the position, a large number of low-level Blackfang Rats were still charging fearlessly, the endless tide of rats was chilling to behold.

They passed through the high-voltage electric fence, which had long been trampled beyond recognition, and rushed into the War Dragon Group's firepower blockade.

clatter clatter!!

Compared to the initial powerful firepower, the current steel torrent had already diminished several times.

Stimulated by the scent of blood, these enormous Blackfang Rats became even more frenzied.

More and more War Dragon Group soldiers were drawn into the battle, and the fighting became increasingly brutal.

The sounds of slaughter, gunfire, wailing... and the tearing of flesh intertwined on this battlefield, escalating more and more... Crack!!

Li Yunfei snapped the neck of a huge Blackfang Rat that lunged at him, then sidestepped and threw the monster's corpse out like a cannonball, with a 'whoosh'.

Thump!!

Amidst the dull thud, an unknown number of monsters were smashed to death.

Li Yunfei had no time for anything else and rushed to support the right flank further ahead.

There, the number of Beast Generals breaking through the defense line had increased.

In the fight against the monsters, Li Yunfei, in pursuit of efficiency, swung with most of his strength every time, thus consuming his stamina extremely quickly.

A Beast General that he could previously deal with in one strike now required three or more strikes to slay.

The internal consumption was immense, beyond ordinary imagination.

Dodging left!

Charging right!

Bang bang bang!!!

Using his size advantage, Li Yunfei crashed through the monster horde, knocking one huge Blackfang Rat after another flying, saving some comrades.

Amidst crisp bone-cracking sounds, these knocked-flying monsters turned into corpses in mid-air.

Standing on a large rock, Li Yunfei pulled out his ninth tube of high-energy drink and quickly gulped it down.

After two hours of intense fighting, if not for these specially made high-energy drinks forcibly providing him with some stamina, he would have likely already collapsed.

But these forced boosts came at the cost of overdrawing his genetic potential.

With nine tubes of high-energy drink consumed, Li Yunfei was destined to be out of the running to become a God of War martial artist.

But he didn't care in the slightest.

For Li Yunfei, he only cared about his brothers in the present.

As for the future, at least they had to win this battle before they could even discuss it.

Feeling some clarity return to his mind, Li Yunfei gazed into the distance.

The Dragon Breath Squad's battle formation had dispersed, providing aid to the battlefield as much as possible, resisting the charging monster horde.

As one of the top three martial artist squads in the Ninth Army, they now appeared somewhat disheveled.

Li Yunfei couldn't help but smile bitterly.

In the Dragon Breath Squad, some War Generals had probably already consumed as many as twenty tubes of gene-enhancing agents.

They were all a bunch of lunatics!

But these lunatics were all good soldiers of our China!

Please, all of you must survive!

Amidst his thoughts, Li Yunfei's Battle Blade suddenly thrust out, piercing the heart of a High-level Beast Soldier Blackfang Rat, instantly extinguishing its life.

Li Yunfei gave his arm a slight shake, dislodging the Blackfang Rat onto the ground, his gaze quickly sweeping across the surrounding battlefield.

He was simultaneously slaying monsters to support his comrades and observing the movements of those few High-level Beast Generals.

For Li Yunfei, and even the entire War Dragon Group, those nine High-level Beast Generals were the most terrifying existences.

Now, they posed a great threat to the soldiers just by standing there silently.

As a commander, he had to constantly grasp the surrounding situation and make precise judgments.

Further in the distance, groups of Blackfang Rats swarmed in, relying on their vast numerical advantage to completely surround one War Dragon Group soldier after another.

After intense fighting, a warrior, almost completely exhausted, dragged his battered and bruised body and leaped with all his might towards the densest part of the Blackfang Rat horde.

Screech!!

In mid-air, a brilliant Mars bloomed against the wind.

Immediately after, a large ball of fire suddenly erupted from the warrior's body.

Li Yunfei's pupils contracted violently.

That flash of fire was the high-explosive ordnance strapped to these warriors!

Boom boom!!!

In the soaring flames, a large group of rat-like monsters were blasted and sent flying.

The fire spread, and more monsters instantly ignited, wailing as they died.

Boom boom boom!!!

Li Yunfei didn't even have time to grieve when several more familiar explosions echoed from afar.

Rolling smoke rose from all over the battlefield, and the spreading flames devoured the lives of large groups of rat-like monsters.

As fearless warriors of the War Dragon Group, even if they died, they would take some with them!

Under the glorious bomb, every one was a heroic martyr!!!

Boom boom boom!!

Awoo awoo awoo!!

...The rising smoke and the wails of monsters intertwined, quickly becoming the main theme of this battlefield.

The great battle between human warriors and monsters was, at one point, incredibly tragic.

Li Yunfei took out a second tube of high-energy drink, but before he could swallow it, a shadow quickly enveloped his senses.

Danger!

Li Yunfei's figure flickered rapidly, his blade like lightning!

Clang!!

Amidst the scattering sparks, Li Yunfei and the shadow each took a step back.

It was a Mid-level Beast General Blackfang Rat!

The calf-sized Blackfang Rat General's eyes were bloodshot, staring intently at the War General who had almost cut through its tough fur with a single strike.

Its black long fur stood on end.

From this human, it felt an inexplicable, immense danger.

However, the limited intelligence it possessed told it that this human's stamina was greatly depleted, and he might not be its opponent.

Roar roar!!

The fully-energized Mid-level Beast General bared its fangs at Li Yunfei.

Just as Li Yunfei stared at the monster in front of him, trying to find a weakness, the sound of rushing wind rose again.

Another Low-level Beast General-level took the opportunity to ambush, attempting to choke Li Yunfei.

But Li Yunfei was not an ordinary rookie martial artist.

He was a High-level General, seasoned in hundreds of battles, who had crawled out of mountains of corpses and seas of blood.

Thump!!

Li Yunfei sidestepped slightly, narrowly dodging the Beast General's pounce.

As they brushed past, Li Yunfei could even clearly feel the cold glint on the Blackfang Rat General's fangs.

But as a High-level General, he would never suffer such a sneak attack in vain.

To not return a favor is impolite!

Li Yunfei kicked out at the Blackfang Rat General in mid-air, gathering immense power at his toe, and fiercely kicked the body of this Low-level Beast General.

Pfft!!

As if struck by a giant hammer, this Low-level Beast General was sent tumbling like a blood bag.

Ooh, roar!!

The heavily wounded Low-level Beast General rolled several large circles on the ground before getting up and fleeing in disarray into the distance.

Li Yunfei's gaze followed the Low-level Beast General into the distance, a chilling smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.

If I let you, beast, just run away like that, I'll write my name, Li Yunfei, backwards!!
