34: Reinforcements arrive (Part 1)

Not far from the battlefield,

The Beast General, Black Fang Rat, which was frantically fleeing and thought it had escaped death, suddenly froze, as if someone had cast a body-binding spell on it.

It was fixed there, unable to move at all.

Immediately after, its entire body trembled violently, its limbs flailing as if it were drunk.

A few seconds later, the Black Fang Rat General staggered and fell to the ground, a large amount of bright red blood foam slowly gushing out of it.

Hmph!

If I let you run, my name Li Yunfei will be written backward!

Li Yunfei retracted his gaze, his eyes flashing with cold light, staring intently at the hateful monster in front of him.

He remembered this mid-level Beast General-level Blackfang Rat.

It was its sneak attack that caused the War Dragon Group to quickly lose dozens of warriors.

Previously, Li Yunfei hadn't had time to pull away and look for it, but he didn't expect this fellow to deliver itself to his doorstep.

Enemies often cross paths!

Li Yunfei's gaze fell on the Black Fang Rat General's neck, and his eyes grew cold.

At this moment, around him, Beast Soldier-level Blackfang Rats with massive bodies were constantly closing in, attempting to encircle him.

Danger lurked everywhere!

Clang!!

Without any hesitation, Li Yunfei decided to strike first; the current battlefield did not allow him to waste time.

More importantly, Li Yunfei's stamina couldn't sustain him.

Whoosh!!

A sound of rushing wind arose, and Li Yunfei's figure turned into an afterimage.

The man hadn't arrived, but the blade was already there!

A fierce blade light slashed down, Li Yunfei poised to cleave this giant rat general in two.

Under the terrifyingly sharp blade light, the rat general's fur stood on end.

A High-level General, even with significant stamina depletion and greatly reduced strength, still possessed reaction speed and power that crushed a mid-level Beast General.

Especially Li Yunfei's full-force strike, almost born of anger, made the Black Fang Rat General feel an immense threat.

Danger!

Seeing Li Yunfei's blade light descend, caught off guard, this cunning mid-level Beast General had a flash of inspiration, wanting to exchange injury for death.

Feeling the murderous aura rushing towards it, the entire rat leaped with all its might, trying to avoid having its vital point hit by this terrifying blade.

Unfortunately, its speed was still far from enough in front of Li Yunfei.

That's exactly what I wanted!

A cold smile hung on Li Yunfei's lips, his body like a phantom, he pressed forward.

His entire being almost pressed against the Black Fang Rat General's car-sized body.

Immediately after, the Battle Blade in Li Yunfei's hand suddenly cut an arc, directly stabbing into the Black Fang Rat General's neck in a diagonal thrust.

As Li Yunfei's wrist sharply twisted, the blade instantly severed the Black Fang Rat General's neck, and foul-smelling blood gushed out.

This Beast General-level Blackfang Rat, struck in its vital point, wailed and fell.

Li Yunfei pulled out his blade, his gaze sweeping over the surrounding Beast Soldiers, a cold sneer flashing across his lips, and he fiercely attacked!

One after another, high-level Beast Soldiers fell beneath Li Yunfei's Battle Blade.

In an instant, several massive corpses appeared on the battlefield.

“The Regimental Commander has killed another mid-level Beast General!”

“This is the sixth Beast General; the Regimental Commander is mighty and domineering!!”

Someone shouted, and all the surrounding warriors were greatly invigorated.

In an instant, morale soared!

Every Beast General-level existence was no different from a harbinger of death for ordinary human warriors.

And the Beast General-level Blackfang Rat, possessing both speed and agility, was among the best of them.

Therefore, the Black Fang Rat General was also called the 'Black Fang Hunter' by many martial artists.

Not only because their sharp teeth could tear through a Warrior General's protective suits, causing immense damage,

The greater threat was the incredibly terrifying virus carried on their fearsome black fangs.

This cunning Black Fang Rat General had just ambushed many warriors, accumulating a heavy blood debt.

But now, it was ambushed and slain on the spot by Li Yunfei, greatly boosting the morale of the surrounding warriors!

As expected of the Regimental Commander, who mastered a set of killing blade techniques; even among High-level Generals, Li Yunfei was considered one of the top powerful existences.

Li Yunfei's achievements spread, and all the warriors were incredibly excited; even the speed at which they swung their Battle Blades increased by several tenths.

In an instant, the death rate of the Blackfang Rat horde accelerated significantly.

“Hehe...”

Watching the warriors fighting with increasing valor, a look of relief appeared on Li Yunfei's lips.

Although Li Yunfei knew very well that most of the high-energy drink he had just consumed had been used up in the recent battle, he still felt great.

It was worth it!!

On the War Dragon Group's position,

The terrifying and bloody battle continued.

The deafening sound of artillery fire, the roars of monsters, and the crisp sound of Battle Blades tearing through flesh intertwined, playing a battle song of blood and fire.

Facing the almost endless Blackfang Rat horde, the War Dragon Group's soldiers suffered immense sacrifices, although they achieved rich results.

But the difference in numbers was simply too great.

Less than two hours into the defensive counterattack, the War Dragon Group's ammunition was 90% depleted.

Even the number of warriors had been reduced by a fifth.

More than a thousand elite War Dragon Group warriors shed their blood on the position, forever buried here.

And the number of wounded was also rapidly increasing at a terrifying rate.

Even so, no one gave up, and no one fled.

Because they knew that human running speed was far inferior to that of monsters of the same level.

Competing with the rat horde in speed on this vast, boundless plain would only lead to death.

Moreover, on the path of retreat, they would be overtaken by Beast Generals and torn apart and devoured by the beast horde.

At that time, even the weakest ordinary monster would get a piece of flesh.

Even if a War General-level martial artist might escape with his life, what about the remaining Warrior Generals and those ordinary warriors who were not yet martial artists?

How would they face the endless terrifying beast horde?

The answer was to huddle together for warmth and collectively resist the monsters.

Never abandon, never give up!

This was by no means just a slogan, but a belief.

Not only the War Dragon Group, but also the Ninth Army and even the entire Jingji Garrison upheld this spirit.

Never abandon, never give up!

In the fierce battle between humans and monsters, no officer would abandon even a single brother to preserve fighting strength.

All are comrades; how could they be disregarded?

Because no one knew when the next large-scale beast horde would arrive.

No one knew if they themselves would be surrounded next time!

Therefore, under such circumstances, no one became a deserter.

All the warriors united, bravely charging at the surging monsters, fighting countless monsters with their flesh and blood.

The slaughter continued... The situation at the War Dragon Group's position grew increasingly intense.

Facing the almost endless terrifying beast horde, more and more wounded chose to ignite their glorious bombs, sacrificing themselves for their country.

One by one, they used their last strength, desperately rushing to places where monsters were dense, perishing with them.

“Major Iron Ox was surrounded by four Black Fang Rat Generals and died of exhaustion.”

“Major Scorpion single-handedly lured hundreds of Beast Soldier-level Blackfang Rats and two Beast Generals; his fate is unknown...”

“The company commander of the 1023rd company was heavily besieged and died.”

“Dragon Breath Squad member Wu Qing, after killing seventeen Beast Generals, died.”

“...”

Through the earphone, news of War Dragon Group casualties kept coming.

Hoo~ Hoo!!

Li Yunfei leaned on his Battle Blade, panting heavily.

Fighting to this point, even he, a Advanced War General, felt somewhat disoriented.

The eighteen high-energy drinks he had to restore his stamina were all consumed.

He stared at the beast horde in front, whose momentum had significantly waned, a feeling of helplessness filling his heart.

How great it would be if he were a God of War martial artist!

After a brief rest, Li Yunfei pulled out his Battle Blade, which was already stained with blood, and once again charged into the battlefield.
