167: Chapter 167 The Murderer is Appeared

The secret room wasn't large.

It just didn't smell very good.

Han Jingyang held his breath the entire time, gradually venturing deeper into it under the protection of three experts guarding him from the front and back.

Only then did they realize that this wasn't a secret room, but a tunnel.

A tunnel that led to who knows where.

The tunnel looked like it had been there for quite some time; the walls on both sides were polished shiny from being brushed against, and the dirt underfoot had been trodden into a solid path, appearing almost level.

Fortunately, the tunnel wasn't long.

It reached the end in less than two minutes.

Looking at the ladder ahead, Han Jingyang gestured with his head toward Bai Sixing: "Old Man, it's your turn to go up."

"Why me?"

"Otherwise what? Should I go?"

"Let's go together..."

"You have the nerve to let two young women, who are like your granddaughters, lead the way?" Han Jingyang sneered. "Besides, you've been slacking off for so long; it's time you showed some real skill."

Bai Sixing sighed: "Fine, fine, you all need to keep up."

"Alright."

Bai Sixing drew his long sword and walked to the ladder at the end of the tunnel. He first tried pushing against the tunnel exit with his hand, but it didn't budge.

However, the Old Man wasn't afraid at all and thrust his sword fiercely.

"Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—" A dozen strikes in a row, each sword thrust piercing straight through the cover of the tunnel exit.

When the Old Man retracted his sword, light could even be seen shining down through the gaps created by the thrusts.

Bai Sixing sheathed his sword, let out a breath, and smashed his palm down hard.

"Thud, thud, thud—" After a few strikes, the broken stones and bricks at the entrance fell in response, clattering down.

Bai Sixing immediately scrambled up.

Liu Jing and Shi Xiaoya followed closely behind.

Han Jingyang was pulled up last by Liu Jing.

Once up, after seeing the situation before them, he felt it was quite tricky.

An Old Man was sitting cross-legged on the kang, with two men and three women sitting beside him.

Everything looked normal, but in his eyes, except for the Old Man, those two men and three women were shrouded in black aura, still under control.

At this moment, the Old Man spoke: "Han Jingyang, you're quite famous. Even in this remote little village, I've heard of your name and witnessed your methods. You're truly formidable, but do you dare to kill me?"

"Why wouldn't I dare?" Han Jingyang countered.

"Look at them," the Old Man tilted his head to gesture at the two men and three women beside him. "With a single thought from me, they will immediately die a violent death."

Han Jingyang nodded slightly: "They are your family, right?"

"Yes."

"Using your own family as hostages, you are quite cruel."

"It doesn't matter. By the time you found this place, my fate and theirs were already sealed. I will definitely die, and they will either die or survive to be condemned by everyone and even harmed. It's hard to say which of these two outcomes is better or worse."

Han Jingyang thought about it, and it really did make sense.

This Old Man had committed so many horrifying crimes; there was no need to guess his fate.

As the Old Man's family members, even if they weren't accomplices, they would certainly be attacked by the victims' families and would definitely have no place to stay in the village.

But it's better to live a wretched life than to die, and a difficult life is no reason to be killed.

Of course, Han Jingyang couldn't be bothered to care about that. He shook his head and said to Bai Sixing: "Old Man, this is your specialty, you handle it."

Bai Sixing was about to take a step forward, but the Old Man shouted sharply: "Stop!"

Bai Sixing narrowed his eyes: "What do you mean? Threatening me?"

The Old Man looked at Han Jingyang instead: "Han Jingyang, let's make a deal."

Han Jingyang calmly shook his head: "I'm not interested in your deal. You're too cruel; there's nothing to discuss."

"I have collected a large batch of dharma instruments."

"Oh?" Han Jingyang became interested. "Tell me about it."

"You first make this Old Man leave."

Han Jingyang turned his head to look at Bai Sixing: "Old Man, give me some face."

Bai Sixing was furious, but faced with the grinning Han Jingyang, he had no way to deal with him.

What could he do? Reason with him? Curse him out? Or just get into a fight?

None of these tactics worked on Han Jingyang.

Therefore, Bai Sixing glared fiercely at the Old Man on the kang and turned to leave.

Once Bai Sixing had left.

Han Jingyang's expression turned stern. He checked his watch and said calmly: "You only have three minutes. In three minutes, this place will be surrounded by militia and other government personnel. That Old Man has a very high status."

The Old Man nodded: "I know."

Then he looked at the two men and three women beside him: "These are my two sons, their wives, and a little granddaughter. Please find a place where no one knows them to settle them down, the further away from Quancheng, the better."

"Do they know about the things you've done?"

"They don't. I did it very discreetly; I only acted at night. In daily life, I was just an ordinary Yin-Yang Master. Until now, the villagers thought I was a pure fraud, the kind without any real skills, not knowing that I could make all of them die a violent death in a single thought, hehe."

"Stop talking nonsense," Han Jingyang interrupted the Old Man. "Where are the items?"

"You promise me first."

"Fine, I promise you."

The Old Man was stunned: "You, you're so straightforward?"

"It saves time, and right now you have no choice but to trust me, otherwise your family members can just wait to suffer."

"You agreed too quickly, making me..."

"There are two minutes and twenty seconds left. Are you sure you want to keep wasting time?"

"Forget it," the Old Man raised his hand and threw a notebook to Han Jingyang: "It's all here, including the location of my treasure."

Han Jingyang opened the notebook and glanced at it. The handwriting was quite fresh, and he couldn't help but sneer: "It looks like you had a premonition that you were done for?"

"I am a legitimate Yin-Yang Master, not a fraud. My methods, though not as good as yours, are definitely not worse than anyone else's."

"Alright, then I'm taking these people away."

"Wait, listen to me for a while longer. Aren't there still over a minute left?"

"I don't have that kind of patience," Han Jingyang said, then nodded slightly.

The Old Man was alert: "Without my consent, can you take them away?"

Han Jingyang sneered: "There is always someone better. Your methods only work on unsuspecting ordinary people; in my eyes, they are not worth mentioning."

As soon as he finished speaking, the two men and three women beside the Old Man regained consciousness and looked around at everyone in the room in confusion.

The Old Man was shocked, but he didn't dare to say much. Instead, he said solemnly: "Binzi, Qiangzi, go with them. Listen to them, find a new city to live in, and never come back. Don't ask about things here either. You each have a bank card in your pockets; it's my savings from all these years. It's not much, but it's enough for you to establish yourselves in a new city."

"Dad?"

"Go, hurry up and go!"

Han Jingyang coughed: "If you don't leave now, you won't be able to leave at all."

He lifted his hand and checked his watch again: "There is at most one minute left."

As he finished speaking, bright headlights flashed past the window, and not just from one vehicle.

The Old Man was furious: "Hurry up!"

Although the Old Man's family didn't know what was happening, they didn't dare to delay any longer and quickly got up to follow Han Jingyang and the other two out of the courtyard.

However, just as they stepped out, the group was surrounded by speeding vehicles, and there were even armed soldiers with live ammunition.

Han Jingyang had the bright lights shining on his face, leaving everything before him a blur of white, and he couldn't see anything. He had to block it with his hand while asking unhurriedly: "Who is in charge here? Come out and talk. If this continues, I won't be polite anymore. My companions and I really don't like this feeling."
