43: Chapter 43 Head-to-Head

"I guessed as much. Do you have business with me?"

"I have one thing to tell you: stop meddling in other people's business."

Han Jingyang took a deep breath, staring unyieldingly into He Dingkun's cloudy yet still sharp eyes: "Boss He, you're quite impressive."

"That's just how I do things. I gave you a chance, but you didn't cherish it. Don't blame me for being ruthless when the time comes." He Dingkun gripped his cane and slammed it hard against the ground, staring fixedly at Han Jingyang. "I have no interest in playing games with you. For me, there are only two types of people who cross my path: enemies or friends."

Having said that, he took a step forward, still staring intently at Han Jingyang: "Do you want to be my enemy?"

Han Jingyang's heart skipped a beat for a split second.

In his eyes, the aura that burst forth from this frail-looking old man the moment he approached was terrifying, like a ferocious tiger baring its bloody jaws and pouncing on him, nearly suffocating him.

However, he did not move a muscle.

He didn't even blink, and even wore a trace of a contemptuous smile: "He Dingkun, that trick doesn't work on me. When it comes to scaring people, I'm better at it than you."

He Dingkun froze for a moment, let out a breath, and remarked with a reminiscent expression: "It's been so many years since someone dared to call me by my name. Han Jingyang, impressive. You have a lot of guts. But are you really prepared to be my enemy?"

Han Jingyang sneered: "I have no intention of making an enemy of anyone, but I don't mind preparing a fine set of burial clothes for you in advance."

"You're courting death—"

The woman in the tracksuit was furious and slashed her hand towards Han Jingyang's face.

At the same time, Liu Jing rushed out like a whirlwind, brandishing a cold, gleaming kangxi war sword, and shouted: "How dare you—"

Han Jingyang didn't move.

As if he hadn't seen the punch aimed at his face, he continued to stare fixedly at He Dingkun.

Time seemed to stand still.

The woman in the tracksuit's palm stopped about thirty centimeters in front of Han Jingyang, ready to strike at any moment.

Liu Jing stood two meters away, gripping the sword with both hands, watching the woman in the tracksuit vigilantly, though the tip of her blade pointed at He Dingkun.

Han Jingyang and He Dingkun stared at each other, motionless.

More than ten seconds later, He Dingkun waved his hand: "Young people these days are truly remarkable. Don't be nervous. I'm used to being overbearing; I really didn't mean to do anything to you. On the contrary, I have a request for you. Now, you are qualified to sit down and talk things over with me face-to-face. There's no need for fighting."

Having said that, he added nonchalantly: "If it really came to fighting, you wouldn't be my match, because you all have weaknesses, while I have none."

Then he asked with great interest: "Do you know what your weakness is?"

Without waiting for Han Jingyang to answer, he answered his own question: "Family and friends, or rather, emotional attachments. Ordinary people can never shake off the shackles of emotion. That is your greatest weakness. As long as I grasp the weaknesses of these people, I will naturally be invincible."

What was this? A threat! An undisguised threat.

It was clear that he intended to use Han Jingyang's family to threaten Han Jingyang.

This move was insidious but extremely effective. Almost everyone in this world cannot escape the shackles of the emotional level; it has nothing to do with gender or the era. This is human nature, and almost no one can be the exception.

Han Jingyang was naturally no exception.

However, he understood one thing: weaknesses are things that become more fatal the more you care about them, and the more you fear them, the easier they are for others to exploit.

In this present moment, regardless of how he felt inside, he could not show weakness on the surface.

If he showed weakness, he would never be able to hold his head up in front of He Dingkun again.

This man surnamed He had been pressuring him since the moment he walked in.

Although he didn't know He Dingkun's true purpose, he had been resisting He Dingkun's aggressive aura from beginning to end.

Furthermore, for the sake of his persona as a Feng Shui master, he could not bow his head to He Dingkun.

Danger?

He didn't think there was any danger. No matter how arrogant He Dingkun was, he wouldn't dare do anything to him here, let alone do it himself.

The current actions of the Dingshen Group were already at the limit of the authorities' tolerance; if they dared to cross the line again, the authorities would inevitably intervene.

That was what Shen Yuhai had said.

After all, times were different. Twenty years ago, or even ten years ago, fighting was a common occurrence.

But now, even an insignificant little incident could trigger a massive public outcry, potentially leading to the complete destruction of the Dingshen Group.

In the information age, there were precedents for this.

Therefore, facing He Dingkun's dominance and even threats, he did not flinch in the slightest.

Not only could he not flinch, but he also had to fight back.

Thinking this, he retorted in a calm but firm tone: "In my eyes, you are just an ordinary person with one foot in the grave. No, you're not even as good as an ordinary person. I'm not interested in ordinary people, but for you, I really don't mind sending you on your way. He Dingkun, I can tell you clearly: you've kicked an iron plate."

"Is that so?"

"You can try and see who dies first, and whose family dies out first," Han Jingyang sneered, taking a step forward and looking down at He Dingkun from a superior position: "I'm not afraid to let you know, killing your whole family is as easy as reaching into a bag for me, and I won't leave any evidence, even if everyone knows it in their hearts."

He Dingkun was silent for a few seconds before laughing: "I've seen many charlatans like you—fortune tellers, physiognomists, Feng Shui masters, and even those who summon spirits or raise ghosts. Many of them have died at my hands. You're nothing special, except for being bolder. You'll die just the same if you get stabbed."

"Then let's see who's better in a real fight."

"I hope you won't regret this."

"Rest assured, you definitely won't live to see the day I regret it."

With things having reached this point, there was no possibility of continuing the conversation.

He Dingkun obviously had business with him, but now, the business didn't need to be discussed anymore; he could just go back where he came from.

Why did it turn out like this?

Naturally, it wasn't just because He Dingkun had a bad reputation.

It was even more because of He Dingkun's condescending attitude; the moment the first sentence was uttered after entering the door, this result was already destined.

To use gaming terminology, this is called incompatible temperaments.

As for revenge?

Han Jingyang really wasn't afraid.

After testing the two skills "Continuous Bad Luck" and "Endless Nightmares," he was no longer afraid of these so-called big shots among the common people.

If the authorities wanted to deal with him, he would have nothing to say and would just have to surrender; even if he had the ability, he couldn't resist or escape.

But for someone like He Dingkun, he now had many ways to send this old guy to his grave.

Not just the old guy, but his whole family too.

Using Feng Shui Arts to harm people is more terrifying than raiding a house and wiping out a clan.

When a house is raided and a family wiped out, at least you can find the culprit, and if there is reincarnation, maybe you can be reborn into a good life in the next life.

But using Feng Shui Arts for such purposes makes a family die in inexplicable ways, and they might not even find peace after death.

Of course, he didn't have such powerful items in his hands.

But as long as he made good use of his compass, he could manipulate earth energy to a certain extent. This had already been verified at Zhou Yucheng's house; as long as the preparations were made, wiping out a clan was not out of the question.

He was just a little hesitant now: should he strike first?
