23: Chapter 23 Refund
Han Jingyang stood up abruptly, gestured to Old Shen and his wife, and walked straight out the door, gazing calmly at the lead rider.
The riders were all wearing helmets, but he still recognized them. The one who came was none other than Sun Fuchang's son, Sun Xiaoliang.
Therefore, without waiting for Sun Xiaoliang to speak, he got straight to the point: "Get lost back to where you came from, otherwise don't blame me for not giving Old Sun any face."
Sun Xiaoliang was furious: "Fuck you, stop acting like a big shot, refund the money!"
"I'm giving you face and you don't want it. I hope you don't regret this."
"Regret my ass, refund the money! If you don't refund it, I'll smash your shitty shop and make your reputation stink throughout the street." Sun Xiaoliang said this, then suddenly pulled out a jar of ink and smashed it against the signboard.
"Splat!"
Ink splattered everywhere.
The gold-lettered sign carved with the three characters "Jiguang Zhai" was instantly unrecognizable, covered in black.
Immediately after, seven or eight riders shouted in unison: "Refund the money!"
"Refund the money!"
"Refund the money!"
The waves of demands for a refund came one after another.
Two riders even unfurled a long banner, proudly displaying it to the onlookers who had been attracted to the street.
The banner read: "Unscrupulous seller Jiguang Zhai, passing off inferior goods as quality to commit fraud. Cheating and swindling, not even human. Return my father's hard-earned money."
At this moment, a neighbor came up and asked Han Jingyang: "Little Han, what's going on?"
"Just a small misunderstanding."
"Should we call the police?"
"No need," Han Jingyang gritted his teeth, pulled a rusty bronze arrowhead from his pocket, stepped forward, and said with a cold face to Sun Xiaoliang: "Leave now, and I'll let bygones be bygones, otherwise—"
Sun Xiaoliang sneered and retorted: "Otherwise what? Hit me? Come on, try touching me."
Han Jingyang stared deeply at Sun Xiaoliang for a few seconds, then suddenly opened his palm, revealing the bronze arrowhead in his hand.
The rusty arrowhead was so corroded that only a vague outline could be seen, with no lethality to speak of.
Sun Xiaoliang paused for a moment, then laughed out loud: "What? Are you going to cast a spell? Come on, go ahead and do it, hahahaha, you're killing me. Brothers, he's holding a broken arrowhead to scare me, I'm so scared, ahahahaha..."
Han Jingyang whispered: "He who commits his own evil deeds will not survive—"
After speaking, he flipped his wrist, and a flash of white light from the bronze arrowhead vanished instantly, sinking directly into Sun Xiaoliang's body.
Except for him, no one else saw any of this.
Then he put away the arrowhead and turned to leave.
Sun Xiaoliang paused, and seeing Han Jingyang turn around, he shouted: "Stop right there—"
As he said this, he reached out to grab Han Jingyang's shoulder.
But just at this moment, Liu Jing, who had been hiding at the door, rushed out like a whirlwind, swung a baseball bat, and smashed it toward the unsuspecting Sun Xiaoliang.
"Ah—"
Sun Xiaoliang screamed, clutched his arm, and stumbled back: "It's broken, my arm is broken, call the police quickly, ah—"
Han Jingyang was stunned.
But he quickly reacted and pulled Liu Jing back: "Go back into the shop."
Liu Jing, still eager for more, said: "Boss, this is self-defense—"
As she spoke, her inexplicably excited gaze scanned Sun Xiaoliang and the others, as if looking for a more suitable place to strike.
Han Jingyang took a deep breath.
He didn't know if it was self-defense, but he knew this grudge was now settled.
Although he wasn't afraid, he had a better way to retaliate, and he had already made his move. He was just waiting for Sun Xiaoliang to come to his door, crying and begging for forgiveness; there was no need to make such a scene in public.
Of course, he had to admit that Liu Jing's method was indeed very satisfying.
It was just that the aftermath was a bit difficult; while it wouldn't lead to jail time, paying compensation was inevitable.
Self-defense?
That's really hard to explain...
But just at this moment, Mr. Shen walked out with his hands behind his back. His gloomy gaze swept over the group of riders, finally resting on one of the smaller ones, and he beckoned: "Come here—"
The small one remained indifferent.
Mr. Shen shouted: "Come here!"
The small one trembled, got off his bike like a snail, hung his head, and inched step by step toward Mr. Shen.
Mr. Shen raised his foot and kicked him.
The other riders were even more shocked when they saw this: "Fuck you, do you know who this is?"
"You old bastard, you're done for, just wait to die—"
"How dare you hit Young Master Shen! Every one of you is dead!"
"Fuck, brothers, attack! Kill them! Don't be afraid, Mr. Shen is backing us!"
"There is a road to heaven you don't take, and there is no gate to hell you force your way in. You hit Young Master Shen, the nature of this matter is completely different now."
Hearing these words, Mr. Shen's face darkened even more. He snatched the baseball bat from Liu Jing's hand and brought it down relentlessly on the small rider, gritting his teeth with a ferocious expression, as if the small rider was his mortal enemy, the kind that wouldn't stop until one of them died.
The other riders were even more shocked, but they only dared to curse and shout from the sidelines.
The small rider was even more cowardly, curling up and screaming repeatedly, not even daring to run.
Han Jingyang watched from the side, pondering the situation.
Is this a coincidence? Or something else?
He looked down at the bronze arrowhead in his hand.
"Name: Warring States Bronze Arrowhead."
"Rank: Seventh Rank."
"Attribute: Luck -2."
"Skill: Continuous Bad Luck."
He had picked this up at a street stall a few days ago for 280.
At the time, he warned himself not to use it recklessly.
Because bad luck is uncontrollable; even the slightest mistake could trigger a huge disaster.
For example, a driver on the highway triggers bad luck, and a mosquito bites his eyelid—that's bad luck, right? A very weak bit of bad luck, right?
However, it is very likely that the driver gets distracted while scratching the itch, causing a car accident. At best, it costs money; at worst, it costs lives, and might even implicate others.
The bad luck itself is controllable, but the butterfly effect triggered by the bad luck is uncontrollable.
So after obtaining this bronze arrowhead, he had always kept it hidden. Not to mention putting it on the shelf, he didn't even let anyone know about it. He hoped he would never need to use it.
However, hoping not to need it does not mean not using it.
He had a sharp sword in his hand. He didn't want the blade to draw blood, but that didn't mean he should keep it hidden when it was time to draw the sword.
Just now, he had activated the skill attached to the bronze arrowhead without hesitation.
Consequences? No matter how serious the consequences were, it had nothing to do with him.
Sun Xiaoliang would bear all the consequences.
The moment he activated the skill, he had already envisioned the scene of Sun Xiaoliang following Sun Fuchang to come before him, crying and apologizing.
But he never expected Liu Jing to jump out. And he certainly never expected Mr. Shen to step forward as well.
These two people—one is a slim and beautiful young woman, and the other is a big shot whose identity is sensitive and requires avoiding suspicion.
Liu Jing broke Sun Xiaoliang's arm with one swing of the bat. Mr. Shen stood up to clean up the mess.
In other words, Sun Xiaoliang is going to be unlucky? Coming aggressively, only to leave in disgrace?
The skill has already taken effect?
Han Jingyang looked down at the bronze arrowhead in his hand again, put it into his zippered pocket, and then stepped forward to hold Mr. Shen back: "Mr. Shen, calm down. It's not a good look in public."
Mr. Shen was already panting from exhaustion. He took the opportunity to step back two paces, pointing the baseball bat at the small rider who was screaming on the ground: "Just you wait, I'll deal with you when I go back—"
Then he looked up, his gaze sweeping over the other riders: "Stay away from my Lele in the future!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the group of riders was shocked.
"His Lele?"
"Young Master Shen's father?"
"Director Shen?"
