151: Class reunion dinner
When Zhong Lili elegantly walked into the private room, she certainly attracted many eyes.
Leaving aside her character, purely based on her looks and Figure, she was indeed one of the best in the class.
She was wearing a black slip dress; the smooth fabric clung to her curves, outlining a full and proud upper body silhouette.
Her face bore exquisite makeup, her eyeliner subtly winged, and her lip gloss shimmered with a delicate sheen; every detail highlighted the charm she had meticulously crafted.
The photo previously shared in the group had already made many boys restless with anticipation, and now that she appeared in person with such a stunning look,
several tables of boys couldn't help but glance over and start whispering among themselves.
"She really dares to wear that..." a girl wearing glasses at the next table muttered softly, subconsciously tugging at the hem of her own conservative T-shirt.
The girls nearby exchanged glances, showing a mixture of envy and slight disapproval.
At a class reunion like this, such a bold outfit certainly stood out conspicuously.
Class Monitor Li Wei saw the situation and quickly stepped forward to mediate: "Lili, you're here. Quickly find a seat, the dishes are about to be served." He tried to get the atmosphere back on track.
Zhong Lili, however, ignored all the surrounding stares. Her gaze quickly swept the private room and soon locked onto Chen Li's seat.
Without hesitation, she took elegant steps and walked straight toward his table.
This scene was fully observed by Chen Shimei, who was sitting by the window.
He tightly gripped the teacup in his hand, his knuckles turning white from the force.
From the moment Zhong Lili entered until now, she hadn't spared him a single glance, heading straight for Chen Li instead.
Watching her sit down at Chen Li's table, deliberately choosing a seat directly opposite him, the rage in Chen Shimei's eyes was practically erupting.
As soon as Chen Li looked up, he saw Zhong Lili sitting across from him, and his stomach immediately churned.
This woman was definitely doing it on purpose—didn't she know he found her repulsive? Yet she insisted on coming over to disgust him.
He simply turned his head away, not wanting to spare her another look, finding her deliberately provocative outfit utterly vulgar.
This act of avoidance, however, took on a completely different meaning in Zhong Lili's eyes.
She secretly gloated, thinking Chen Li was intimidated by her charm and didn't dare to look her straight in the eye.
It seemed she had chosen the right outfit today. Triumphantly, she adjusted her skirt and deliberately straightened her back.
Although Chen Li was unwilling to look, the other boys at the table, including Zhong Hao and Liu Zhao, couldn't help but secretly check out Zhong Lili.
Frankly, such bold attire was not uncommon on a university Campus, and combined with Zhong Lili's already outstanding Figure,
the boys exchanged knowing glances, all agreeing that Zhong Lili was indeed very attractive.
"A Li, Zhong Lili has been staring at you since she sat down."
Zhong Hao leaned into Chen Li's ear, teasing him in a low voice, his tone hinting that he was enjoying the spectacle.
"A Li, what's going on here?"
Liu Zhao leaned closer, lowering his voice even further, his tone clearly expressing indignation. "Back then, she looked down on people and didn't care about you at all.
What kind of show is she putting on now? Thinking about her arrogant attitude back then makes me angry."
Chen Li frowned: "Don't mention her, it ruins my appetite. Let's just eat."
While they were chatting, the waiter started serving the food, placing one home-style dish after another on the round table.
Once most of the dishes were served, Li Wei stood up at the appropriate moment, raised his glass, and said a few words about the reunion. Then everyone started eating and drinking.
Before long, Zhong Hao and Chen Li's phones rang almost simultaneously. The messages were from Liu Nansheng and He Min, saying that they and a few other girls had arrived at the restaurant lobby and were ordering food.
The two exchanged glances and smiled knowingly; they were quite good at timing things, as their own food had just arrived.
After three rounds of drinks, the atmosphere in the private room became increasingly lively.
Classmates began moving between tables with their glasses, offering toasts and exchanging pleasantries.
Class Monitor Li Wei and a few other class representatives also toasted every table once, but they were careful not to drink too much—they still had to organize The Beach barbecue later that night, so they needed to stay sober.
It must be said that the successful organization of every class event was inseparable from the hard work of the organizers.
From the initial venue booking and menu finalization, to on-site personnel coordination and process control, and finally to the subsequent barbecue arrangements.
Every step required repeated communication and confirmation. They were always the first to arrive and the last to leave, constantly running around dealing with various trivial matters.
Yet, no matter how thorough the planning or how much effort was invested, it was inevitable that some dissenting voices would be heard.
There would always be people who felt that one arrangement was improper or another detail was overlooked, leading to whispers behind their backs.
Unless your prestige was extremely high, convincing everyone, or everyone was exceptionally easygoing and unconcerned with minor details—but clearly, neither of these was possible in reality.
Zhong Lili had been secretly observing Chen Li's side, and when she saw the seat next to him finally become vacant, her chance arrived.
She picked up her wine glass, adjusted her skirt, and elegantly walked over to Chen Li's table.
"Chen Li, long time no see. Didn't your girlfriend come with you?" she asked with a smile, sitting down right next to Chen Li.
As she deliberately spoke directly toward him, she leaned forward slightly, allowing her deep cleavage to be fully displayed before Chen Li.
Chen Li was deep in conversation with Zhong Hao when a strong scent of perfume suddenly assaulted him from the side.
He turned his head and saw Zhong Lili sitting close to him, deliberately puffing out her chest, looking as if she thought she was very alluring.
Accustomed to the faint natural scent and shower gel fragrance on Liu Nansheng, this pungent perfume immediately made Chen Li feel extremely uncomfortable.
Especially since it emanated from this woman he had long disliked, it made him feel even more nauseous.
Chen Li practically held his breath, but out of politeness, he replied, "She's here. If you don't have anything important, please don't interrupt our conversation."
After speaking, he turned away and continued chatting with Zhong Hao, treating Zhong Lili as if she were air.
Zhong Lili was momentarily stunned. Was this playing hard to get? Or was he afraid of being seen by his girlfriend?
She absolutely refused to believe that any man could resist such a proactive display of affection from her; it simply defied common sense.
Seeing Chen Li completely turn his back, Zhong Lili felt embarrassed.
Her remaining shred of dignity kept her from pestering him further. After all, the night was long, and there would be plenty of opportunities.
Instead of returning to her original seat, she turned to another male classmate nearby and started chatting with a smile.
Sure enough, that boy immediately responded enthusiastically, pouring wine and finding topics of conversation, his eyes full of flattered surprise—this was the reaction she was familiar with and expected.
Chen Shimei, not far away, took in the entire scene. He forcefully suppressed the urge to lash out immediately.
He merely curled his lips into a cold, sinister smile. "No rush. The 'feast' he had prepared for Chen Li would come during the barbecue segment."
He turned his head and slowly sipped the wine in his hand, when suddenly he heard the hushed conversation of two boys from the table behind him.
One of them spoke in a mysterious tone: "Hey, I just went out to take a call. Guess who I saw in the lobby?"
