79: I only care about the results.
Chen Li had never been someone who got angry easily, but that scumbag's methods...
...had long since surpassed ordinary deception; he had simply taken villainy to its absolute limit.
Who knew how many more dirty dealings were hidden behind such a degenerate who specialized in victimizing women? Shen Qing likely wasn't the only victim.
If he didn't send this bastard to prison to rot this time, he'd write his name backward!
Wasn't it just money?
That was something he had plenty of.
Chen Li walked out of the Dormitory and immediately dialed the number for Manager Liu at the Bank.
"Manager Liu, help me check something. Does your Bank have a customer named Shen Qing who took out a Loan for one million?"
"Please wait a moment, Mr. Chen. I'll check right away."
Logically speaking, a customer's Loan information was strictly confidential.
But who was Chen Li?
He was the Bank's most important super VIP customer; such a request was nothing at all.
In less than two minutes, Liu Ming called back. "Mr. Chen, there is indeed a Loan record for a Ms. Shen Qing."
"She is a teaching assistant at Qiongzhou University. She took out a Loan for one million, to be paid off over two years. Tomorrow is the first payment due date."
"In that case, help me make an arrangement."
"Deduct her monthly payments from my account. Remember, pay them on time, don't settle the full amount early."
"Understood, Mr. Chen. I'll get on it immediately and ensure it's handled properly."
Hanging up the phone, Chen Li looked back at the faculty Dormitory building.
Standing beneath the Dormitory, Chen Li's phone screen was lit up. The information Shen Qing had sent was very detailed:
Lin Chengxiang, twenty-eight years old, formerly a project manager at 'Yunhai Technology.' He later resigned to start his own business and opened several companies, but all of them failed.
The information also included his address, frequently visited places, and some personal hobbies, even attaching several lifestyle photos.
The man in the photos had fair skin and wore a pair of transparent-framed glasses. He looked refined and upright, like a young master from a well-to-do family.
One had to admit, this guy indeed had a good-looking exterior.
"Chengxiang? Heh—"
Looking at the name, Chen Li couldn't help but let out a cold sneer.
He turned and went back upstairs to the Dormitory, heading straight for Wu Qiang.
He knew Wu Qiang was very skilled with computers and had even formed a computer club with some friends; perhaps he had a way to dig up dirt on this kind of person.
"Qiangzi, do you have a way to thoroughly dig up someone's information?"
"A Li, what do you want to do?"
Wu Qiang was a bit wary, fearing Chen Li might do something out of line on an impulse.
Seeing Chen Li's serious expression, Zhang Yixi and Guo Zihong also crowded around.
"He's a bastard. I want to see if I can find some dirt on him, preferably evidence of illegal activity."
"What's wrong? Did he mess with you?" Zhang Yixi asked with concern.
"Something like that. He cheated a friend of mine out of one million. I have to make him pay the price," Chen Li said, finding a plausible reason.
"If his data is stored on a computer or phone, we can try hacking in to take a look."
Wu Qiang said seriously, "But there's a risk in this kind of thing."
"Fine, you make the arrangements. Just tell me how much money is needed."
Without hesitation, Chen Li sent Lin Chengxiang's personal information to Wu Qiang.
"Then wait a moment, let me ask my team first," Wu Qiang said, pulling out his phone.
"Is there anything we can help with?" Zhang Yixi asked from the side.
"Not for now, let's see what happens on Qiangzi's end first." Chen Li felt a bit moved.
He watched as Wu Qiang started chatting in a group called 'Hacker Alliance 007.'
They used a lot of technical jargon that Chen Li and the others couldn't quite understand.
Before long, Wu Qiang looked up and said, "A Li, they said they can take the job, but the fee isn't low."
"How much?"
"Two hundred thousand. Half as a deposit upfront, and the other half after we find useful data."
"As long as that data actually exists on an electronic device, we're confident we can get it out."
"No problem. I'll transfer two hundred thousand to you now. Help me get this done."
Chen Li felt this price was quite low, likely a favor for Wu Qiang; after all, this kind of thing carried risk, and the team would be under considerable pressure.
"Okay, if things go smoothly, we'll have results by tomorrow. We need to send someone to track down his IP address first and stake out his place to make sure he's out before we can make a move."
"Fine, you handle the arrangements."
After speaking, Chen Li immediately took out his phone and completed the transfer.
With a focused expression, Wu Qiang turned to Chen Li and explained in a low voice:
"This has to be done in steps. We won't just act blindly. First, we need to locate his digital footprint."
"We'll start with his public social media accounts—like LinkedIn, Weibo, or even food delivery and ride-hailing apps he might use."
"This information might seem scattered, but it can piece together his activity patterns, frequently used devices, and even help us deduce his home broadband provider."
He pointed at the scrolling messages in the group. "My teammate just found out he posted on a local forum last night."
"Using the IP from that post, next, we need someone to go near his Residential Complex for 'wireless network probing'."
Seeing Chen Li's slightly confused expression, Wu Qiang further explained in layman's terms:
"To put it simply, it means taking equipment near his Residential Complex to scan and identify his home Wi-Fi name and router model."
"Many people use the Pinyin of their names, the last few digits of their phone numbers, or their company name as their Wi-Fi name when setting up their home network."
"Then how exactly do you hack into the computer?" Chen Li pressed.
"If his Wi-Fi password isn't strong, or if the router has known vulnerabilities, we'll have a chance to penetrate it."
"Once inside the local network, we'll try to scan for online smart devices in his home—computers, phones, NAS (Network Attached Storage), and so on."
Wu Qiang paused and emphasized, "We won't use those flashy methods from movies; instead, we'll design the attack specifically for him."
"According to the info, he used to run a company, so his habits likely haven't changed—people like that often work from home."
"It's highly probable his computer contains financial records, contracts, or even unsightly 'client maintenance' materials."
"We'll prioritize a few types of files: Excel spreadsheets, Word contracts, PDF scans, and chat log backups."
"The focus is on financial transactions and project contracts; these are where it's easiest to find flaws. If he really has defrauded multiple people,"
"this data will definitely be in some folder, and he might not even delete it, keeping it 'as a backup'."
Just then, Wu Qiang's phone rang again. He took a look.
"My teammate just confirmed that his Residential Complex uses an old model of a common router brand."
"That model has a security vulnerability exposed last year, and many people still haven't updated the firmware."
"We're seventy percent sure we can get in silently, as long as we confirm he's out tomorrow afternoon—"
Chen Li nodded after listening.
The whole process didn't sound as miraculous as in the movies; rather, it exploited the target's life habits and technical oversights.
"Just follow your own pace," Chen Li said. "I only want results."
